Bit depth expansion in audio signals using separation of harmonic and transient components

Táto práca skúma novú metódu dekvantizácie audio signálov, teda metódu zvyšovania ich bitovej hĺbky. Navrhovaný prístup funguje na základe dekompozície signálu na transientnú a harmonickú zložku a ich spätným sčítaním, pričom dochádza k zníženiu kvantizačných artefaktov. Dekompozícia signálu je realizovaná pomocou zmiešaných noriem a~implementovaná v upravenom primal-dual algoritme. Práca začína prehľadom matematických základov digitálneho spracovania signálov, a to Krátkodobá Fourierova transformácia (STFT), kvantizácia a normy. Na to nadväzuje popis transientnej a harmonickej zložky a predstavenie dvoch rozdielnych metód na ich separáciu. Jedna z týchto metód, založená na zmiešaných normách, je implementovaná autormi článku [2] využitím primal-dual algoritmu. Hlavným zameraním tejto práce je úprava tohto algoritmu na zvyšovanie bitovej hĺbky. Matematická a algoritmická úprava je odvodená a porovnaná s pôvodnou formuláciou. Upravený algoritmus je implementovaný v programe Matlab a testovaný na audio databáze zloženej z rôznych signálov. Účinnosť navrhovaného algoritmu je vyhodnotená použitím objektívnych kritérií ako Signal-to-Distortion Ratio (SDR) a PEMO-Q sluchovým modelom ako aj subjektívnym názorom. Diskutovaný je aj vplyv parametrov a počet iterácií. Výsledky ukazujú, že aj keď navrhovaná metóda znižuje časť kvantizačných artefaktov, zároveň prináša do signálu iný typ skreslenia. Metóda je navyše výpočtovo náročná. Napriek tomu tento prístup prináša zaujímavý náhľad na význam transientnej a harmonickej zložky v kontexte dekvantizácie a necháva priestor pre budúce zlepšenie a optimalizáciu.

Contemporary UAS and the possibilities of their application to European commercial airspace

This bachelor thesis deals with the characterization of legislation for modern unmanned aircraft system (UAS), their commercial use in Europe and the expected development in the future over a period of 3-5 years. In the first part, I focused on the reasons why the category of unmanned aircraft systems was created and described how legislation and individual regulations for the states of the European Union and the European Aviation Safety Agency are created. I selected and summarised the most important legislation in force for the category of unmanned aircraft systems. At the same time, I explained the conditions for registration and flying with UAS and defined the airspace for UAS, which is called U-Space I drew information from the electronic versions of the various regulations published in the Official Journal of the European Union. In the next part, I looked at the CNS technology, which will need to have a UAS in order to communicate with the air traffic controller (ATC). Subsequently, I defined the objectives and possibilities for commercial use of UAS in Europe. The thesis can be used as a qualified aid in studying legislative issues regarding UAS or in theoretical instruction in the branch of Professional Pilot.

Economic benefits of riveting in light aircraft production

The thesis deals with the comparison of conventional riveting technology with riveting that uses hole-to-hole technology for the preparation of a semi-finished product on a small all-metal ultralight aircraft, specifically on an aileron. The comparison was performed on the ultralight aircraft EV-97 Eurostar SLW (conventional riveting technology) and Alto NG (H2H technology). The comparison of the two methods showed that the time saving for H2H technology is 32,612 min (50%) and the cost price is 600 CZK cheaper compared to the conventional technology, which is, however, easier to produce the semi-finished product.

The dwelling in pre-agrarian societies

Cílem mojí diplomové práce je pokus o zdokumentování fenoménu obydlí jako jednoho ze základních kulturních projevů aktivit člověka v jeho nejstarších dějinách, tj. v období lovecko-sběračské fáze našich dějin (paleolit - mezolit). V chronologických úsecích, které již dokládají kumulaci jednotlivých sídelních objektů ve vyšší celky (od mladší fáze starého paleolitu) bude sledováno i uspořádání obydlí na sídlištích. Cílem této práce není vytvoření co nejkompletnějšího seznamu lokalit, které přinesly doklady o těchto lidských aktivitách (stavba obydlí), ale zaznamenání a analýza vývoje obydlí, obytného prostoru a sídlení v předzemědělských společnostech. Ve své práci vycházím ze základního předpokladu, že vývoj, jež obydlí prodělalo v minulosti, je archeologicky zachytitelný, a proto obydlí a stavební konstrukce jsou jedním z archeologických pramenů, které můžeme zkoumat.
