Community supported agriculture - Case Study KomPot

Master thesis Community Supported Agriculture - Case Study KomPot examines functioning of the KomPot association and its development since 2012 when the association was founded. The thesis also describes its members and seeks their reasons for joining and their opinions about KomPot. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the term Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) which has its origins in the 1970's in Japan and has been developing rapidly in the Czech Republic for the last two years. The CSA theme is put into the context of the terms community and agriculture first. Then it is explained what CSA means and what its characteristics are. The terms food sovereignty, food self-sufficiency and food security are described as well for they are closely related to CSA. For a detailed comprehension of the topic the thesis explores the CSAs in the world, which can show the diversity of CSA. A part of the research is the question asked by a research team in the frames of Specific University Research of the Charles University in Prague that examines to what extent CSA is a resistance strategy to the modern society individualisation and commodification. Etymology as a Possible Motivation Component in the Teaching German as a Foreign Language

This diploma thesis deals with the integration of etymology as one of the possible motivational component in language learning at the second stage of primary schools with regard to German as a foreign language after English. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with etymology as one of the linguistic disciplines, genealogical relation of English and German language and the issue of motivation in learning a foreign language. The practical part concentrates on creation of the author´s own didactical materials and the application of the discovered relations within these two languages. The aim of these materials is to motivate the pupils at the primary schools to multilingualism.

Degrowth as an Alternative of Sustainable Development?

The aim of master thesis Degrowth as an Alternative of Sustainable Development? is a comparison of two complex concepts, sustainable development and degrowth, which both try to reach sustainable human existence within environmental limits of our planet. The first part of this thesis consist of literature research investigating consequences of our reliance on economic growth and two chapters in which I try to cover main features of both concepts. In second part I compare degrowth and sustainable development and summarize my findings and conclusions. Methodology of this theoretical thesis is based on hermeneutics and grounded theory.

This thesis reflects the first cross-border Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition 2009: Czech Republic. Austria. Divided - Separated - United. This thesis deals with a deep context of historical, cultural, economic and demographical topics, which this unique exhibition presenting mutual Czech-Austrian history pointed out. At the same time, the thesis focuses on analysing the success of this across-the-border cooperation project between the Czech Republic and Austria and its benefits for individual regions in the areas of infrastructure development and travelling.
