Author's name: Bc. Sára Miczová Supervisor:: Mgr. Miriama Dědková, DiS Opponent: Thesis title: Occupational therapy practise guidelines in patients with functional upper limb impairment after stroke in subacute phase To be able to provide occupational therapy intervention of high quality the occupatioal therpaists should rely on relevant standards of clinical care and clinical guidelines. (Švestková, 2018). Occupational therapists as well as other members of the interdisciplinar team provide professional care to the patients recovering from stroke. Those patients often have to deal with upper limb impairment which leads to decrese of quality of life. Relevant studies focused on this topic were searched via key words in PubMed, Web of Science and OVID Evidence Based Medicine Reviews databasis. The criterias of selection were: public access to the content, english language which were mainly focused on stroke patients rehabilitation. The suggestion of guideline was created based on methods accepted by department. The occupational therapist as well as physiotherapeutist of early rehabilitation were included in the process of creating the guideline using the GRADE programme for it. Only 48 out of 4054 studies were used, these were divided into two cathegories, one being the cathegory of assessment, the...

Sobelová, Veronika ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Dědková, Miriama (referee)
This Master's thesis focuses on Occupational therapy for patients after application of botulinum toxin to upper limb. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate and compare a progress of functional independence in patients after acquired brain injury. There were twenty patients involved in the research, who were further divided into two groups and separated by ten people in each group. Both groups underwent the application of botulinum toxin whereas the experimental group A went through the occupational therapy. The control group had ordinary rehabilitation at home and without any occupational intervention for the duration of twelve week under guided self-rehabilitation contract of spastic paresis, so-called GSC. A programme of the group A included over the counter rehabilitation outpatient occupational therapy. The patients attended the course twice a week for the duration of four weeks. Afterwards, they received a home programme for the duration of eight weeks, during which they had two examinations at occupational therapy. All the participants were evaluated by Global Subjective Self-Assessment which is focused on spasticity. There were further evaluated according to Functional Independece Measure and modified Frenchay Arm Test. The experimental group with outpatient occupational therapy was...
Effect of application of botulotoxin for change of gait in patients after brain damage with spastic dystonia
Bárdyová, Tereza ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Dědková, Miriama (referee)
Title: Effect of application of botulotoxin for change of gait in patients after brain damage with spastic dystonia Abstract: The theme of this bachelor thesis is verifying possibilities of botulinum toxin influencing the gait stereotype of patients with spastic dystonia. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of research of relevant literature sources, based on which basic terms of the associated range of problems are briefly defined: muscle tone, spasticity, spastic dystonia, botulinum toxin and gait. Part of the theoretical summary also includes scales that describe muscle tone (Ashworth scale, Tardieu scale, Five-step clinical assessment by Gracies) and also tests evaluating gait stereotype (Tinetti Gait and Balance Examination, 10 Meter Walk Test, 2 Minute Walk Test, Timed Up and Go, Rivermead visual assessment of the gait). The practical part contains two case reports of patients suffering from spastic dystonia who were monitored during one cycle of the application of botulinum toxin. Degree and nature of spasticity of these patients were measured at equal intervals and then, using the selected tests, the gait stereotypes were compared at various stages of effect of botulinum toxin. Based on the obtained results, effect of this substance on gait...
