Physiotherapy in childrens rheumatology, physiotherapy at chronic pain syndrome in children
Paroubková, Martina ; Vondřejcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
For chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes (CPS) is typical longterm persistent pain without an identifiable morphological cause. These CPS affect mostly older children and females. We recognise two different forms of CPS, diffuse, represented by fibromyalgia and, localised, which is represented by complex regional pain syndrome type 1. This work is primarily focused on juvenile primary fibromyalgia syndrome (JPFS), which is characterised by widespread pain and numerous painful tender points upon palpation. Very often other symptoms such as sleep disturbance, fatigue, headaches, irritable bowel syndromes and anxiety are presented. To succesful treat JPFS the multidisciplinary approach is necessary. This work describes posibilities of physiotherapy in JPFS as a key to succes of interdisciplinary teamwork. Key words: chronic pain, fibromyalgia, multidisciplinary therapy, pain management, children
Use of neurodynamics in cervical radiculopathies therapy
Horáková, Alena ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
Title: Use of neurodynamics in cervical radiculopathies therapy Abstract:This Bachelor's Thesis deals with treatment of cervical radiculopathy using mobilization of peripheral nervous system. Its aim is to discover whether this method can ease the pain, attenuate the sensation and motoric symptoms, which characterise cervical root syndromes. The theoretical part of the Thesis describes the basic anatomical aspects and looks into etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnostics and the treatment itself. A chapter on neurodynamics follows, explaining its principles and methods. The practical part includes two casuistries of patients suffering from cervical root syndrome, who were subject to therapy carried out by the method of nervous system mobilization. The first patient's general symptoms were mitigated, contrastingly, the condition of the other patient worsened. Key words: vertebrogenic, cervical spine, pain, paresthesia, radiculapathy, neurodynamics
Mapping people's awareness of possibility of home physiotherapy after acquired brain damage
Vadkertiová, Monika ; Chalupská, Tereza (advisor) ; Jakovcová, Karolína (referee)
Title: Mapping people's awareness of possibility of home physiotherapy after acquired brain damage My bachelor's thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part contains information about stroke, about subsequent rehabilitation and about home physiotherapy. Stroke is one of the most common acquired brain damages and many patients just after the stroke remain at home with permanent consequences. Physiotherapy is one of the basic elements of neurorehabilitation of these patients. The greatest effort of physiotherapists for these persons is to increase mobility to the highest possible level, return to self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on others. Home physiotherapy has a great benefit in improving the quality of life of these patients. The main theme and aim of the practical part is to map the awareness of people after acquired brain damages, after release and mainly about the possibility of home physiotherapy. The practical part is realized in the form of an anonymous questionnaire for these persons. The result of my survey showed that more than half of the interviewed respondents did not have information of the possibility of using home physiotherapy. Key words: home physiotherapy, discharging patients, patient's awareness, brain damage, stroke

Tereza Chalupská Opponent: Title of bachelor thesis: Physiotherapy in palliative care Abstract: The purpose of modern palliative medicine is to maintain high quality live of patients with advanced form of disease. Palliative care was originally considered as terminal care, which focused on relief of symptoms at the end of life. Nowadays, palliative care has a greater scope and the concept of rehabilitation, in palliative care, expands. The main purpose of this dissertation is to define the role of physiotherapy in palliative care and to contribute to the existing literature. Theoretical part of this dissertation begins with general information about palliative care and multidisciplinary palliative team with a focus on rehabilitation in palliative care. Below is a list of physiotherapy techniques applicable in palliative care, and the main symptoms that can be affected by physiotherapy in palliative care. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the attitude of patients and medical personnel to physiotherapy in palliative care and the training opportunities of physiotherapists in the field of palliative care. The practical part describes results of the questionnaire survey on the numbers of the physiotherapists in palliative care...
The effect of kinesio tape on the area of knee on locomotor activity in patients after stroke
Trčálková, Pavla ; Chalupská, Tereza (advisor) ; Brožová, Kamila (referee)
Title: The effect of kinesio tape on the area of knee on locomotor activity in patients after stroke Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on evaluating the effect of kinesio tape on locomotor activity in patients after stroke. The purpose of this thesis is to compare quality of stereotype of the gait of this patients before and after application of kinesio tape on the area of the knee joint. The theoretical part includes detailed information on kinesio tape, its characteristics, its effects on the human body and how to use it in practice. The issue of stroke is outlined only marginally, mainly describes the clinical picture of patients with this disease. The pathologic gait of these patients is more discussed in more datail in the next charter, which deals with walking, its kinesiology and its neurophysiology. The following section deals with the anatomy of the knee joint and again is described the problem in this area of patients after stroke. The practical part is used the knowledge of the theoretical part. It contains three case reports of three patients, who had kinesio tape applied to the posterior side of knee joint, popliteal fossa and the ventral side of the thigh, over m. vastus lateralis. The duration of application was 24 hours, during which the patient had not any other kind of therapy. The...
The effect of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident - objectivisation by a footscan

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name and surname: Barbora Veličková Supervisor: Bc. Tereza Chalupská Opponent: Title: The effect of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident - objectivisation by a footscan Key words: kineziotaping, ankle joint, cerebrovascular accident, Footscan® Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on on the effect of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. In theoretical part I follow up the problematics of patients after cerebrovascular accident, the anatomy and kinesiology of ankle joint, function of foot and gait. Also I describe the methods and effects of kinesiotaping. In practical part I used a qualitative research, processing two cases. I objectivisated the effect of kineziotape by a Footscan®. Kinesiotaping is used as a complementary therapy combined with other physiotherapeutical methods. For the purpose of my bachelor thesis I used kinesiotaping separately for easier evaluation of results. The purpose was to find out if the application of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident enhaces the stand stability and gait. Both patients achieved a higher ROM in ankle joint, decreasing of edema in the area of aplication of kinesiotape and one...

Monitoring patients of the day-care centre of the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic using accelerometers
Nássir Eddin, Kamil ; Janatová, Markéta (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
The aim of this work is to summarize the current knowledge about accelerometer in general than espetially the possibilities of using this divice in rehabilitation of hemiparetic patients. Give a look on pluses and minuses of using this technology in clinical practice. This thesis is devided into two parts- theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I tried to explain some of the important key concepts, which knowledge is necessary for the comprehension of our issues and facilitate the use of the accelerometer, its inclusion into the rehabilitation plan of the patients in (KRL) and particulary hemiparetic ones. In the practical part I focused on the actual monitoring using accelerometer, during some learned physical activities of choosed patients, and the evaluation of my own impressions of this instrument and the impressions of the monitorised patients themselves. Keywords: hemiparesis, postural stability, WMS system, physical activity, monitoring.
Evaluation of the functional fitness of seniors using the method "Senior fitness test" with regard to the exercises in open and closed kinetic chains
Hrtús, Martin ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
The physical activity of seniors leads to keeping active life and positively influences mental and physical health. With the quality and quantity of physical activity is directly related to the functional physical fitness, which in the elderly should not be underestimated. For this work, we choose a standardized test battery "Senior Fitness Test", which we used to determine the functional fitness for the 20 seniors. Testing was performed at the beginning and after 6-week therapy. The therapy was conditional training in two groups. One group practiced in open kinetic chain and the second group in closed kinetic chains. We evaluated the obtained data and compared with each other. In the theoretical part we try to approach the issue of seniors out of their physical, mental and social aspects, as well as the issue of kinetic chains and introduce the "Senior Fitness Test."
The use of stability training in patients with chronic low back pain
Matějíčková, Helena ; Brožová, Kamila (advisor) ; Chalupská, Tereza (referee)
Chronic low back pain is an increasing phenomenon in highly developed countries. More and more people suffer from back pain and the age limit is decreasing. The search for an efficient preventive method and therapy is therefore crucial. With deeper understanding of human physiology, especially regarding the central nervous system, neurophysiological approaches come into interest. One of them is called sensorymotor stimulation, commonly known as stability training. It addresses the afferent system of human organism and by that influences cerebral centres of motor control, which optimize the function of deep stabilization muscles. The main function of these muscles is segmental stabilization of the spine collumn at rest and during dynamical activities. When these muscles aren't functioning properly, the spine collumn and surrounding structures suffer from overload, which results in back pain. Sensorymotor stimulation represents an efficient way of dealing with chronic back pains. Therefore, in this work I have been addressing the use of stability training in patients with chronic low back pain.
