A critical review of Facebook addiction research

Background: Facebook is the most popular social network nowadays. Concerns about possible negative consequences and possible addiction rise with its growing popularity. It is a very current topic not only for experts in the field, but also for parents. Results of studies bring various conclusions and the view on the Facebook addiction remains patchy. Aim: The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate the current state of Facebook addiction research on chosen studies. This work is focused on the criteria for diagnosis, methodology and identified risk features, the profile of a problematic user. Methods: This theoretical work uses qualitative approach and compares information from chosen studies. First, a summary was created from each study. Then extracted information were compared in categories according to research question of this work. Results: Evaluation of the studies showed that there is no clear way of diagnosing Facebook addiction and the phenomena itself is not clearly defined. The studies were very different in their prevalence estimates. A methodological issue of most of the chosen studies was using a self-reported questionnaire and a choice of non-representative participants. Harm reduction strategies of cannabis drugs use from the point of view of their users

Background: Cannabis drugs are the most used illicit drug in the Czech Republic. About 1,78 million people use cannabis, most of them are young people aged 15-34 years (Mravčík et al., 2020). Use in the young age, regular and intensive use of large amounts of cannabis is associated with the negative impact on health and life of users. Previous studies have described the harm redcution strategies, less is known about relative occurrence of the hram reduction stategies, especially in the czech environment. Aims: The aim of the study was to investigate what kind of harm reduction strategies are used by cannabis users. Methods: The research was conducted as a quantitative study. This mapping study was aimed to describe the behaviour of cannabis users in relation to use of the harm reduction strategies, and to explore the relative occurrence of these strategies. As a method of data collection was used a questionnaire survey. Results: Most frequently emerged harm reduction strategies among cannabis users are in relation to the effects of use on physical health. Most of these strategies focus on minimising the harms associated with smoking cannabis, particularly marijuana cigarettes. Drug use among emloyees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic

RESOURCES: The work of the Prison Service is associated with a higher rate of the frustration tolerance, increased stress, resilience and awareness. The prison environment carries with it very demanding working conditions, shift work and contact with human suffering and/or death. These risks that accompany the work of helping professions within prison facilities may lead to using of addictive substances by facilities' employees. Thus, a hypothesis was formed, among others based on the personal experience of the author of the work, that these employees use addictive substances. To this time, no other research was performed within the environment of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic that would aim on using of addictive substances among the professional staff coming into contact with an imprisoned person. OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this thesis is to determine the level of alcohol and nicotine dependance among professional staff of Czech prison facilities. In the empirical part of the work, we focused on finding out the paths of women to field work, their initial motivation and explore the topics of sexual and bullying behaviour, safety, and the importance of supervision. Mapping the opinions of outpatient addiction tretment facility workers on the possible implementation of substitution treatment for methamphetamine addiction

BACKGROUND: Despite the high number of methamphetamine users in the Czech Republic, the treatment is still only abstinent. Pharmacotherapy in terms of substitution treatment is not yet in place. No study has yet been conducted to examine the views of workers working with methamphetamine users on the possibility of introducing substitution treatment for methamphetamine dependence in the Czech Republic. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the practical part was to map the opinions of outpatient staff on the possibility of introducing substitution treatment for methamphetamine dependence. The monitored area included the evaluation of the success of the treatment of methamphetamine dependence in outpatient settings, disparity in working with users by substance use, percentage of methamphetamine users in the facilities, the suitability of drug addiction to methamphetamine for clients of outpatient facilities and position of substitution treatment for methamphetamine, according to respondents. Mapping of psychosocial interventions and attitude of workers in selected low-threshold contact center to methamphetamine users

INTRODUCTION: Despite the unique status of methamphetamine on the Czech drug scene, where the number of problem MA users accounts for 3/4 of all problematic drug users, there is a minimal amount of literature in the literature on how to work with this target group in the addictological care system. OBJECTIVE: The practical part was to monitor the work and access to methamphetamine users in the selected k-centers. Attention was paid to presenting KC clients, perception of key motives in each phases of drug use trajectories, the process of working with clients from first contact to eventual mediation of treatment and description of the specifics of access to MA users. METHOD: The chosen sample was selected on the basis of deliberate targeted selection through the institution. The data were collected by semi-structured interview, which was fixed with audio recording and subsequently transcribed. The patterns capture method as used to analyze the data. Introduction:. In 2014, there were 180 thousand problematic users of drugs in the Czech Republic. Action plan of the realisation of National strategy of anti-drug politics in the Czech Republic concentrates on lowering the degree and risk of marijuana usage, while in the first period no specific programs for target group have been realised. In 2015, 2400 marijuana consumers were using low-threshold treatment programs. Topic of cannabis related drug users in drop-in centres and outreach programs appears at the expert meetings, though there is a lack of systematically developed material, which would be include good practice of low- threshold treatment programs for the target group. Aim: Primary aim of thesis is to provide a qualitative analysis of opinions of drop-in centers and outreach programs employees in Prague and Central Bohemian region regarding the possibility of offering harm reduction and therapeutic interventions to cannabis users. What is the difference between the first treatment and treatment after relapse in addiction to alcohol

The theoretical part explain some basic concepts related to drug addiction, motivation for treatment, recurrence and ego defense mechanisms of the patient. Also points to the effectivity of treatment for alcohol addiction in the Czech Republic. The other part consists of three case studies. They are individual statement from clients, on which is possible to observe their subjective perception of differences between treatments in the medical institution. The aim of this work is to determine what are the differences between the first treatment and relapse after treatment? Are there any differences, or is the first and second treatment same for patients? The results of this study could be useful for the general public, students and staff addictology Inpatient.
