Ethics of Using Anonymous Sources in Czech Journalism

The topic of the presented bachelor thesis is the use of anonymous sources in czech journalism. The thesis deals with the dichotomy of anonymous sources, summarizes the advantages, disadvantages, risks and possible consequences of using unnamed sources from the point of view of journalists and the sources themselves. It also covers the legal framework of this problems and its involvement in local codes of ethics. It focuses on the impact of anonymous sources on media credibility. The analysis of three different local media provides concrete examples of quotations from anonymous sources, following their frequency and nature. The paper is concluded with three interviews with domestic journalists on the studied issue.
Unrealible Storytelling in Selected Prosaic Works of Contemporary Czech Female Authors

This thesis discusses the narration types in four literary proses of modern Czech female writers. The list of analyzed books includes novels Lapači prachu by Lucie Faulerova, Do tmy by Anna Bolavá, Houbařka by Viktorie Hanišová and Stropy by Zuzana Brabcová. The analysis mostly focuses on the realization of the unreliable narration and on the narrators, following the concepts of types of unreliable narration defined by James Phelan and Mary Patricia Martin, concept of signals by Ansgar Nünning and the places of indeterminacy theory by Roman Ingarden in the process of the description. The borders of unreliable narration and narrative strategies will be also discussed.
