Hedonic models on real estate market
Špesová, Nikola ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (referee)
Thesis is concerned with the Prague apartment prices. It compiles various econometric models determine that price under linear regression. It discusses the influence of individual factors such as size, number of rooms, floor, type of ownership, and so on. It focuses on three main hypotheses. The first is the floor impacts, which is proving to have a quadratic functional dependence. The second is a comparison of personal property with a cooperative and brick and panel construction. It turned out that the price difference between brick privately ownership and cooperative panel construction can be up to nearly 30 %. The last major hypothesis is the impact of time perspective between 2006 and 2013. The data shows that the financial crisis of the years 2007 - 2009 hit the Prague real estate market only on a small scale.
The analysis of effect of body height on wages in Czech Republic
Frank, Daniel ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the effect of body height on wages of men and women in Czech Republic. I construct regression models using data gathered by survey in Prague and Zlin. Parameters of these models are estimated by using ordinary least squares method and also two-stage least squares method including instrumental variables. Because of large differences of locations I decided to examine mentioned cities separately. Research reveals the significance of the main explanatory variable only at model studying Zlin utilizing ordinary least squares method. An increase in human height by a centimeter is associated with a growth of his/her wage by 0.65 % on average.
The Analysis of How the Education Achieved by Parents Influences the Lenght of Their Children's Studies
Dočekalová, Veronika ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
The thesis analysis how the education achieved by parents affects the education achieved by their children. The least square method is used for the regression analysis. All the estimations are based on the survey-acquired data from Prague and Pilsen. Alongside the estimations for these two cities alone, the influence in all dataset is examined as well. The cross-sectional data were acquired throughout the first quarter of 2014. The certain influence of both mother's and father's education on the education of their descendants was demonstrated by the analysis. Other significant factors influencing acquired education turned out to be for instance a number of siblings or divorce in a family.
Evaluation of effectiveness of renewable energy sources
Vrobel, Marcel ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (referee)
The problem of comparing different sectors, companies, or projects occurs very often. This problem arises of poorly chosen metodics or requirements for results. The results of such comparisons are inconclusive and then useless. The contribution of this work is a practical guide which focuses on using of data envelopment models for evaluation of different options. In this thesis DEA models are presented on renewable energy sources. For proper understanding of the problems it is necessary to define what the data envelopment models (also known as DEA models) are. The purpose of this thesis is to inform about their creation and origins and also the description of their function. There is also an introduction into the teory of renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources are evaluated based on their input. In this thesis is a comparison of biomass with solar, water and wind energy.
