Survey medical nurses' and midwives' interest in further education

This Bachelor theses is intended to survey medical nurses' and midwives' interest in further education. Its theoretical part is aimed at the concept of motivation, learning and its self-regulation, memory and its strategy is focused on as well. It gives an account of both the will and attitude towards carrying out duties. Self-motivation bears important meaning in the thesis as well as the notion of learning from psychological aspect. The empiric basis of the Bachelor thesis lies in evaluating quantitative survey through questionnaires to find out nurses' and midwives' interest in further education. The surveyed sample comprises medical nurses and midwives of five health institutions in the Czech Republic.

The theoretical part contained the theory of palliative care and hospice. The main part of this work is an exploratory survey about public awareness of palliative care and if awareness is affected by age, education, gender and religion. Our focus is also on the percentage of respondents with experience with this care and if it is positive or negative. We are also interested in finding a difference of opinion about palliative care and hospice between atheists and believers. Another finding that we are interested in is the general opinion of the public about palliative care and hospice.

The work is composed of a theoretical and practical part. The first part deals with Alzheimer's disease, its overall issues and the life associated with it. It also mentions dying, death and the elements associated with it, including grieving. In the practical part, responses are recorded from interviewed staff who, in addition to general feelings, were asked about attitudes and opinions about dying, death and Alzheimer's disease. The practical part was implemented using anonymous and voluntary questionnaires. The results of quantitative research are then shown in graphs. Four subgoals, which were met, were established. The results can be used in teaching practice or for further research.
The notions of health care professionals and the general public about dignified dying

The dissertation thesis deals with problems associated with dignified dying from the perspective of nurses and general public. In the theoretical part one can see the summarization of current knowledge pertaining to the subject. The concept of death, models of dying and the options of how to provide care for the dying are also discussed here. Furthermore, the thesis touches on the issue of euthanasia and the care of accompanying staff. The empirical part is represented by quantitative assesment of results, which were gathered from respondents' answers to 16 questions in a submitted questionnaire. The studied sample consisted of nurses employed at The hospital of Královské Vinohrady's internal department and the random selection of respondents from general public.
Contemporary care about dying patients from the point of a nursering staff view

First degree work characterizes the process of dying and death and nears the contemporary possibilities of a lenitive and hospice care in the Czech Republic. The starting point is the definition of basic ideas and their brief characterictic drawing from get-at-able literature and information from practice. For finding the answer for contemporary level of care about dying patients was chosen the method of a qualitative research in the form of an anonymous questionnaire appointed for a nursering staff of a standard department in the chosen medical institutions. This first degree work isn't the universal instruction how to care about and to behave to dying people. This work contributes to thinking about the question of the death and dying, about own mortality and about the factors that influence this period. It nears the needs of dying people and the opinions of a nursering staff concerning priorities and obstacles in accompanying of the dyings.
Thrombolysis in neurology

The paper deals with a relatively new methode of treatment - Thrombolysis in neurology. It's composed of a theoretical partand a practical one. In the theoretical part there is golbal information about this methode, its indications, its contraindications, atc. Thrombolysis is a methode of treatment used at acute phase of illness - ischeamic stroke. That's why the characteristic of these illness, its diagnostics, its treatment, atc. are included in this part. The practical part is based on quantitative research. Explored group was composed of patients suffering from stroke and hospitalisated on Intensive Care Unit on Neurological Clinic in Fakultní nemocnice v Hradci Králové. In research there was explored how many times the thrombolysis had been aplied, the reason why it hadn't been aplied and the amount. There were explored the average age and the average lenght of hospitalisation too.

Education of patient after acute heart attack

The bachelor work concentrates on education after an acute heart attack. The goal of the teoretical part of the work is to give information about education concerning principles, phases of the education proces…, and about an acute heart attack with its associated risk factors, smyptoms, diagnosis and medical treatment. The main work consists of a quantification reaserch method of risks factors related with the acute heart attack. A group of respondents that are observed are patients that suffer from an acute heart attack and were hospitalised at I. Interní klinika in Hradec Králové and a group of healthy respondents from randomly selected participants. One part of empiric part is also an elaboration of the "Proposal of an education plan Protective diet of patients after an acute heart attack with hypercholesterolemia."
