Northern Europe: Economics and Position in the International Market

Diploma thesis deals with the Northern Europe region, its economical situation and its position in the international tourism market. Thesis is mainly focused on two countries -- Finland and Sweden. The aim is to analyze Finnish and Swedish potential for tourism development and their share in the global tourism market. Beside that it is also focused on the economic situation in both countries. Thesis defines basic terms connected with Northern Europe region in the first chapter. Then there are two chapters with similar structure, one dealing with Finland and the other one dealing with Sweden. In both chapters there is a detailed analysis of the country's economy, study of conditions for tourism development and different forms of tourism, which have been or might be developed regarding these conditions. Both chapters contain the SWOT analysis with a few recommendations for the future progress.
The characteristics of Slovak cuisine in a particular case

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the characteristics of traditional Slovak cuisine and a demonstration of its practical utilization by analyzing the operational activities of the selected restaurant. The thesis is divided into four thematic parts. The first theoretical part deals with tourism and food servicies and the status of tourism in Slovakia. The second part contains a short description of professional organizations operating in the field of tourism. The third part deals with the traditional cuisine, which was developed in the Slovak country. It focuses on the influences that have affected it and the typical used ingredients. There are also described some events related with gastronomy, because these events are a part of tourism in the country. The last part is the analysis of restaurant Zbojník. A part of this analysis is focused on the offer of Slovak special dishes on the menu of the restaurant and a comparison with competitive restaurant with a similar focus.
