Sound of a low whisper
Krutsche, Karin ; Mladějovský, Josef (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis examines the intersection of Christian themes with everyday life and draws inspiration directly from the Bible. The author focuses on her subjective interpretation of faith and reflects on the unexpected ways in which God's presence can manifest itself. Through her artwork, she visually depicts these themes, emphasizing the symbolism of light as a representation of God's transcendence.
Shapes of Growth
Gehringerová, Bára ; Těthalová, Gabriela (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The author has been working on the motif of the plant in her work for a long time. She uses them as a metaphor, inspiration and a means to contemplate natural, social and psychological systems. In her bachelor's project she will develop this theme, continuing to explore the similarities between the plant and the human, both formally, in the construction of bodies, and above all in the way each entity exists, for example, in the possibilities of coping with external stresses and supportive influences, in the process of growth and development. The exploration of the plant world is a means of contemplating the human one and their interrelation. Plants thus also become a projection screen, a character narrating the social dynamics of human communities and the psychological processes of the author herself and human beings in general. The aim of the bachelor's work is to create a coherent series of paintings dealing with the theme of human experience through the symbol of the plant.
Our Scales Are Liquid
Müllerová, Denisa ; Štindlová, Marie (referee) ; Janů, Valentýna (advisor)
The bachelor thesis "Our Scales Are Liquid" is an audiovisual piece that can be categorized into the genre of experimental fairy tale. The film combines 3D animation with live-action shots and follows the interaction between two main characters - the Snake and the Girl. Through cinematographic motifs and symbolism, it explores the theme of mourning. The interpretation of the relationship between the main characters is open-ended, offering possible explanations depending on the cultural context and individual perception of the viewer. I delve into possible interpretations of the work in the textual documentation of the piece.
Who Finds a Painter Finds a Treasure
Dvořák, Jakub ; Klyuykov, Alexey (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The diploma thesis represents the authorial collaboration between two painters - Jakub Dvořák and Michaela Nováková. Programmatically, they dedicate themselves to jointly painting individual paintings, while the result is based on several levels: the visual content itself, in which the painting handwritings of both authors intertwine, an invisible but no less essential process of constant mutual communication, even for the viewer, seeking a common consensus during the creation process - from the very choice of the subject to the division of the painting areas. The paintings created together thematically depict scenes from the (sub)urban landscape of a small town in Vysočina, which is related to the fact that both authors live in this area. From a technical point of view, it will be oil paintings in various formats. The goal is to create a cycle of oil paintings made by the author pair. In addition to the theme of collaboration, which will permeate every painting, the unifying theme of the selected subjects is no less important - the goal is therefore not only the form created by the intermingling of handwritings both painters, but also the content.
LOOK STONE, WHAT'S INSIDE?
Petruželová, Anna ; Vaněk, Tomáš (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
My diploma work is a set of about 30 distinct small books that I made from September 2023 to June 2024. The books are made using different techniques and contain various topics. They capture what came to my mind, things I was thinking about and moments that happened. Often they contain both drawings and words, sometimes only words or only drawings, and sometimes neither. I tried to work on them continuously, trying to make one book per week.
The Bunker
Ticháčková, Helena ; Sýkora, Šimon (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
In my bachelor's thesis I deal with the issue of escapism - i.e.the desire to escape from reality (through computer games, daydreaming, an escape into the world of fantasy etc.). The reason I chose this theme lies in my personal desire to escape - from certain people's emotional prison, from certain types of traumas, which, within the space of years, sometimes emerge on the surface and influence my present life as well as my future. My medium of choice was large scale painting on canvas. Into these paintings, I have tried to project my feelings of indecision, anxiety and expectation. I believe the theme to be relevant int the whole socio-cultural context, and not just in the last three years, though I do feel the need to escape from reality to be more sought after by people in the context of the wider present.
no noon on
Janechová, Lucia ; Houser, Milan (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the theme of sun. We perceive the sun in many different ways according to its position on the sky, to where we are located or simply depending on our current mood. In paintings and objects I look for ways to capture it's visual form or the imprints of feelings it's capable of creating. For that I use spiky or round branch-like shapes as the variations of the sun rays, in the centre of paintings is usually a circle. I combine acrylics and oil with dry pastel, which enable more relaxed and free strokes. In effort to expand the scale of medium I included materials like copper or concrete in my work. The series is therefore finished with relief almost-objects and a copper “gate” the sun figuratively passes through at noon.
Diaries of Landscape Records
Štindlová, Marie ; Vojtěchovský, Miloš (referee) ; Resslová, Veronika (advisor)
Attempt to transfere situation in landscape to gallery instalation. Rather than recording of story, is about subtle shifts.
The Space for All of Us
Dobiášová, Dominika ; Poliačková, Martina (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The diploma work Sanctuary for Each of Them consists of a series of objects and paintings in which I try to capture the mutual necessity and ambiguity of the individual's position in society. I am trying to bring the viewers to a strange, unsettling place where a series of plots and stories take place. Relationships develop between the characters, but also between them and the fictional world in which their stories are set. Motifs and characters from the paintings then transition into anthropomorphic objects - figures depicted in glassware and table bases. In this way, the action shifts directly into the physical space of the gallery and turns into a scenography that can be entered and interacted with on a personal level.
Collection: When I am older
Fiedlerová, Anna ; Vítková, Lenka (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The practical part of the bachelor's thesis consists in the realization of a series of paintings, drawings and photographs reflecting the theme of leaving home and finding a new one. Furthermore, the folk song "When I'm Big" hovers over the whole autobiographical story. The character of the peasant woman and her profession, goals and attitudes are also thematized, because she becomes the author's companion and counselor.
