The importance of the health education for the psychological status of seniors

The thesis focuses on the importance of health education for the psychosocial state of the seniors. The topic was chosen on the basis of demographic fact that shows the increasing number of seniors in the society. The aim is to analyze the issue of educating seniors about their health behaviors and attitudes towards health care, and also to evaluate how this education affects the psychosocial state during active aging. The thesis is designed as a theoretical- empirical one. In the theoretical part, the thesis deals with the explanation of the basic concepts of the issue and their interrelations. In this part, analyses of texts and literature dealing with the issue are described. The individual chapters deal with the topics of old age and its specificities in relation to possible forms of education. The practical part is based on the collection and analysis of data from questionnaires, which are focused on the education of the elderly in the field of health and on the question whether this education has an impact on their psychosocial state.
