Koprivnice 3.0 - Housing A++
Šimková, Eliška ; Musálek, Filip (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The design of the urban and architectural study of the former handball field aims to serve as a potential solution to the issue of sustainable and affordable housing. The first part of the proposal focuses on the urban study of the former handball field in Kopřivnice. The area has transformed from a significant city locality into a parking lot over the past 20 years. The urban design responds to the adjacent Kopřivnička River and the proximity of the city center. The area thus becomes a gateway – into the city upstream along the Kopřivnička River, and out of the city toward nature. Among the aims of the proposal was to attract new residents to Kopřivnice, which led to the design of three buildings that reflect this need. The area includes a building with starter apartments, a women’s shelter for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence, and finally, a multifunctional building that supports the city’s economy while reflecting the needs of existing Kopřivnice residents. The second part of the proposal presents the architectural study of the women’s shelter. The concept and idea are based on reflections on in-depth interviews with social workers from various shelters. The building is designed to comply with legal regulations, the requirements of staff, and the safety of its residents. The design part of the urban and architectural study is based on insights gained from the theoretical and analytical parts.
Democratic Architecture – Ostrava
Šimková, Eliška ; Magnusek, Petr (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
Democracy is a way to live without fear for the future. It is a choice, but also a change of opinion. It's freedom. It is an opportunity to help each other. The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of democratic architecture and the concept of housing for life. The project completes the gap in Ostrava on Masná Street, opposite the former slaughterhouse, today the new Plato Gallery. The assigned gap is located in today's not very attractive area, which has great potential in the future, which must be used. The work responds to the current situation of unavailability of real estate and seeks an adequate solution to this problem. It finds it in the services of the owner of the apartment, who can rent part of his property and thus help him repay the mortgage earlier, or a tenant who currently has where to live.
