Halfway houses for people released from prison

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of a halfway house for persons released from prison. It is a specific target group of clients of this social residential service. The diploma thesis contains a theoretical and practical part. The first part describes the meaning of a halfway house, its the target group of clients, the role of social curator, the execution of imprisonment and the role of probation and mediation service. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether young offenders after release are interested in this social service. The practical part of the diploma thesis includes a structured interview with clients halfway houses in the Pilsen, Karlovy Vary and Central Bohemia regions. The interview consisted of 25 questions; the answers are sorted and presented in tables. From the results it can be concluded that young offenders are informed about this social residential service, but after release from prison they prefer another accommodation option. Their last choice is a to becoming a client of a halfway house, one of the reasons why can be the feeling of continued control over their lives such as in prison.

Social worker and his position in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the profession of social worker of the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The main topics of the thesis are the ethical codex, dilemmas of a social worker, methods of social work, requirements on expert knowledge, roles, target groups of social work and social services. The thesis independently defines a social worker as a social curator for adults, a social curator for minors, describes family and case conferences, points out the possibility of burnout syndrome and the importance of supervision. The attention is devoted to obstacles identified by the social worker in the exercise of his profession at the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The second part of the thesis contains a questionnaire survey that observes and compares the positions and opinions of these social workers on their profession. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the position and prestige of a social worker at the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children.

Leisure time activities of children at primary schools as prevention of socially pathological phenomena

The bachelor thesis is focused on social pathological phenomena and the leisure time. It defines the context between the emergence of socially undesirable phenomena and the leisure time activities of pupils at the first stage of primary school. The first part describes leisure time, its importance and utilization, the environment affecting the child and the most common social pathological phenomena in the period of the younger and middle school age. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out whether the way of spending leisure time influences the emergence of the risky behaviour that was detected by the anonymous questionnaire survey.

The main goal of this master thesis is to introduce environmental psychology and its application in the process of furniture and interior design. Environmental psychology is a significant field of applied psychology, which can provide useful information for designers and their work. The focus is mainly on means of perception of design components and features, such as shapes and colours, and its processing and interpretation. The thesis primarily describes theoretical studies, which can later serve as a philosophical principle for designer's creative proces, leading to creation of not only fully functional, but also psychologically pleasant design.
