Moral aspects in the story of the first Book of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Attempt at a view of narrative ethics
Kozelský, Kamil ; Lorman, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
C. S. Lewis was one of the greatest Christian apologists of modern times. He did not only write in Christianity defence, he also wrote a lot about morality and its close interrelationship with faith. This work aims, to demonstrate the moral message put into his work for children, specifically in the story I. Part of the Chronicles of Narnia. It tries to answer the question of whether they can be understood as a general parable of Christian life, spiritual warfare, or inner transformation of a man meeting God. It aims to show precisely the situation hidden in the story, which can be applied to everyday life situations. For example, issues stemming from (in my opinion) the most impressive image of the entire book: What gave strength to Edmund turn from evil to good after meeting with Aslan? What is the nature of this image from the perspective of moral theology and how it is applicable in our Christian life? In this work, I rely on the concept of ethics in other books by C. S. Lewis. Theological Aspects of Coaching
Macek, Karel ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Mašek, Vojtěch (referee)
Coaching is a modern tool for personal development with many advantages and successful applications. However, some concerns arise from the religious and ethical perspectives. Links to esoterics and New Age have been proclaimed by leaders of coaching schools that operate in the Czech Republic. Moreover, a survey has indicated that ethical limits of Czech coaches are more liberal than the official position of the Catholic Church. Thus, for a Catholic Christian, the coaching is promising as well as questionable. Biblical texts, as well as the facts from the subsequent history of Church, indicate many similarities: Christianity has exhibited marks of coaching since the very beginnings. On the other hand, most of the coaching schools deny God, absolute truth, or the concept of sin. An appropriate approach how to address this tension is a reflection of anthropological fundaments. Analyzing sincerely one of the coaching schools (Neuroleadership), we can conclude that all of them have clear counterparts in the Christian doctrine. In spite to this positive conclusion, it is necessary to be cautious when facing practical ethical dilemmas. A wise application of the coaching approach can be helpful also in the spiritual direction. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Role of State from moral theology perspectives
Štolle, Petr ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Mašek, Vojtěch (referee)
The role of state is questioned using the theological point of view. Therefore this is not work of sociology, political or historical science. The theological thinking is based on the words of the Bible that is followed by other church documents. Basic sources for this work are documents of International theological commission and texts of professor C.V. Pospíšil. The aim of this work is not pointing on specific cases but looking for moral theology principles and rules. The starting point is that state can never a be direct object of theological studies because that can only be an individual person. The main rule for searching the answers is the fact, that state should only be one of tools for delivering the common good. Also the common good should never be considered the target itself, because the common good only embraces the sum of conditions whereby man can attain its perfection. The results of analyses made are tested against Pope Francis' text Evangelii Gaudium, founding many similarities.

Can death be more meaningful in comparison to life? The first part of this thesis will focus on the theoretical point of view of these problems. Moral Topics in the First Fifty Years of the Journal of the Catholic Clergy
Bušek, Ladislav ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Sládek, Karel (referee)
The thesis "The moral issue in the first fifty years of the Journal of the Catholic clergy" briefly presents the social and religious situation of the Czech Lands in the Austrian Empire. During this period the Czech national movement was being completed: a form of emancipation of the modern Czech civil society from the old feudal structures Estates (Chapter 1). What was happening in the Church at that time has been associated with the pontificate of Pope Pius IX ., who defended consistency in the deposit of faith, in keeping with the spirit of novoscholastika (Chapter 2). The Czech consciousness of its own nationalism was in a state of awakening and this framework naturally suited the Magazine Catholic Clergy (Chapter 3). The main contributors were the Czech theologians and parsons (Chapter 4). Authors in the Catholic Clergy responded very plainly, clearly and pointedly, especially to the socio - political events happening in the Austrian Empire and near Europe at the time. The question is, why they did not react similarly in connection to the events taking place in the Church. In those cases when they did respond, the content of the articles, merely stated the problem rather than reflect upon it (Chapter 5). In addition to the characteristics of the period, this work provides a first attempt at a...
