Wireless Control of Desktop Presentation Using Mobile Phone with Bluetooth
Tesař, Miroslav ; Letko, Zdeněk (referee) ; Novosad, Petr (advisor)
The project aims to relieve a person performing a notebook or desktop computer based presentation of a need to control the presentation by a keyboard. The system uses a mobile phone with mobile Java and Bluetooth technology to communicate with the computer. The project focuses on the use by a wide range of mobile phones and it is independent of the presentation program using separate definition of user controls. This document also contains a brief introduction to mobile Java technology and Bluetooth.
Processing of Web Advertisements in Ruby on Rails
Mrózek, Marian ; Novosad, Petr (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to create an application that aggregates job ads from the ad servers on the Internet. In certain time intervals adverts are downloaded , then processed and stored in a database. Subsequently, these ads are ready to display through a web interface. The application is implemented using Ruby on Rails framework.
Static Detection of Common Bugs in JBoss Application Server
Vyvial, Pavel ; Rogalewicz, Adam (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
First, a few bugs from a list of common bug were chosen and patterns describing these bugs were inferred. Then, detectors searching for such patterns were implemented as plug-ins to FindBugs static analyzer. Finally, detectors were used to detect bugs in development version of JBoss AS. Results are presented at the end of this paper.
Improve Support for RESTful Processing in JBossESB
Eliáš, Filip ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this work is to allow JBoss ESB to communicate with remote applications using REST. JBoss ESB is a platform that separates application logic from the process functions and enables communication between applications with different interfaces by sending messages. REST is an architecture that provides universal interface for communication between computer systems in the network. This work describes integration of REST communication architecture with JBoss ESB platform. The integration is divided into two parts. The input part accepts REST requests, propagates their content to the JBoss ESB and generates a response. The output part waits for the messages from JBoss ESB from which it creates the REST requests, sends them to the recipients and receives responses. The implementation puts emphasis on integration with the RESTEasy project. RESTEasy provides a framework that facilitates development of applications that support REST communication.
Web Application Performance Testing
Martinák, Lukáš ; Letko, Zdeněk (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This thesis is about software testing and mainly focused on performance testing of web applications. The introductory chapters outline problems of testing, identification of key issues, explanation of general concepts and software quality, differences between desktop and web application testing and finally - performance testing. Then, there is chosen a web application suitable for testing (Kentico CMS 6) and comparison of existing tools for performance and load testing. One of them (Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Edition) is chosen for the further testing. Therefore, several test scenarios are designed and implemented (including demonstration of creating, editing and debugging, extending with plug-ins, maintaining, running in a distributed environment, etc.). Finally, there are introduced testing reports and suggestions for the further testing.
Optimization of the Hadoop Platform for Distributed Computation
Čecho, Jaroslav ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis is focusing on possibilities of improving the Apache Hadoop framework by outsourcing some computation to a graphic card using the NVIDIA CUDA technology. The Apache Hadoop software library is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using a simple programming model called mapreduce. NVIDIA CUDA is a platform which allows one to use a graphic card for a general computation. This thesis contains description and experimental implementations of suitable computation inside te Hadoop framework that can benefit from being executed on a graphic card.
Dynamic Workflow Extension for Jenkins
Sviták, Jiří ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
The main of the master's thesis has been to implement a plugin for Jenkins, which enables flow control of launching Jenkins jobs by using business processes. Project jBPM 5, which is based on Business Process Model and Notation 2.0, has been used for business processes. Two sample business processes have been drafted and successfully tested to demonstrate functionality. The main output of this thesis is the jBPM plugin for Jenkins released under free license.
Test Result Repository with Web User Interface
Vlasák, Jaroslav ; Letko, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kočí, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of a client-server application for Red Hat company. Client participates in testing process of JBoss platform and gets user-defined performance data which sends during testing to the server application by platform independent communication. The server application allows to analyze the received data which can be also compared by several perspectives. These services for data analysis and comparison are accessible for server users using the web client. The server application supports the import of the performance data stored in the XML file and also their export for qVue portal. The client part of the application is implemented in Java and the server application is based on Java EE platform.
Portlets Based Time Management Tools
Basovník, Martin ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master's thesis focuses on development of mini-applications for portal environments called portlets. Portal is an alternative type of web information systems used to dynamic portlet management, content personalization and aggregation of content from different data sources. The aim of this thesis is to try an alternative combination of technologies of portals, portlets and portlet bridges. This thesis is one of the first demonstrations of the described combination of technologies and will be used as an educational material by Red Hat company for development of portlets on their portal GateIn. The set of portlets manages user calendars, tasks and contacts. The theoretical part of this thesis compares existing tools for time management and mentions standards for data exchange in this domain. Subsequently it describes all important technologies used in this thesis. The practical part describes the design and the implementation of portlets and evaluates results of this work. The development of the described set of portlets proved that combination of technologies of portals, portlets and portlet birdges is fast and appropriate way how to develop information systems.
Design and Implement Grid Testing System
Hubík, Filip ; Letko, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kočí, Radek (advisor)
This project addresses parallelization of building and testing projects written i Java programming language. It proposes software that uses methods of continual integration, parallelization and distribution of computationally intensive tasks to grid architecture. Suggested software helps to accelerate the development of software product and automation of its parts.
