Model of communication system with the PLC channel
Kovařík, Tomáš ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work was to develop a model of a communication system with the PLC channel. The model contains different types of modulations with the possibility of their settings. The impact of a disturbance on different numbers of states QAM modulation has been evaluated. The theoretical part describes the PLC technology with its functions and the most widely used narrowband modulation.
Narrowband Power Line Communication with Yitran module
Chernikau, Ivan ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on a narrowband data transmission over power lines. At first, possibilities of the narrowband data transmission over power lines were described. Then we focused on the properties of a narrowband modem Yitran IT700. A communication between modems was tested in different modes. Different dependences were measured (dependence of the data transmission speed on the distance, dependence of the error percentage on the distance and on the impedance). Experiments took place on the usual power lines at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering BUT in the building T12. Then an application for remote control of a relay through power lines on the base of PLC communication and Yitran modems was designed and implemented.
Power distribution network model
Bradáč, Lubomír ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis is focused on PLC technology issues and thus the data transmission over a power-line. This work describes characteristics of the PLC technology, its usage, functional principles and used modulation techniques. The main part of the work describes individual kinds of interferences in the network. The method of necessary steps against these interferences by using the right modulation and relevant coding is also described in the thesis. On the basis of theoretical knowledge, the models of interferences are realized in Matlab/Simulink. The simulative model of power-lines with random parameters is designed and realized for each elected techniques of modulation (BPSK, QPSK, ASK, FSK). The method of PLC channels modeling is chose as a multipath signal spreading for topology with one and two branching and the dependence of their transmission functions are inquired too. The analysis of interference influence on the data transmission is performed via the created models. All acquired results are compared and evaluated in the conclusion of this thesis.
Smart Home - library for data acquisition
Tomiczek, Roman ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the development of a software library for aggregating data from electricity meters and sending data to a central station. The most used protocols in smart grids are described. The work deals in more detail with the most important parts of the DLMS/COSEM standard. The DLMS protocol is described, which ensures communication between clients and servers. Next, the COSEM object model is described, which specifies object modeling, for access to measuring devices, and the OBIS system, which determines the identification of data objects. The Gurux library, which specializes in intelligent meter readings, is also described. The results of the work describe the implementation and testing of a software library for aggregation of data from servers using the DLMS/COSEM protocol using the GURUX library. At the end of the work is described a series of tests that were performed using this software library.
Smart meter security
Fitere, Ivana ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
Nowadays, electronization, digitization and data transmission are considered as a standard part of our lives. Security is especially important during data transfer and data processing. This bachelor thesis deals with intelligent metering in power engineering. The~work is based on technical, operational, safety and economic aspects of smart meters rollout. The~first part deals with the~analysis of algorithms, norms and standards for smart metering. The work continues with a description of~the~current state of~smart metering in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The next chapters are devoted to~the~creation of an evaluation model, two different security scenarios, their analysis and evaluation based on net present value (NPV). Finally, the results of a real test of GSM communication at two different security levels. Models are displayed in the attached XLS file.
Usage of NS2 simulator in multicast networks
Hošek, Petr ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
The thesis is focused on routing in data network, especially on network method of multicast. The first section closely deals with particular multicast protocols and next with models of multicast, mainly Any Source Multicast and Source Specific Multicast. The main point of this work is implementation of multicast using Network Simulator. On the practical level, two laboratory exercises are included. In this part, readers have the possibility to make sure of reached knowledge of multicast and its implementation in NS2.
Narrowband PLC modem
Novák, Pavel ; Koton, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The theses is focused on the use of PLC technology. The aim of the thesis is creating device which communicates in a narrowband transmission frequency band. Transmission of communication between plc elements runs through the low voltage distribution network. The frequency and phase modulations are used in order to change the character of data signal. Transmitter and receiver parameters are subjects to the CENELEC standard. The theses gives more attention to the area of hardware build communication element rather than the area of programming.
Secure converter for an RS-232 standard to the Internet
Pokorný, Michal ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
Master´s thesis tries to find a solution to make a secure transmission channel between virtual serial ports on the personal computer and the serial ports on the Rabbit RCM3700 development KIT. Today’s communications channels don't offer appropriate security of a whole communication. Therefore it depends on get-togethers, in order to realize this security themselves. This security means ensuring reliable transmission of data to be encrypted between parties so that any attacker is not able to read real-time, or eventually change them. As a result of this Master thesis is the design and implementation, which in addition to encryption algorithm provides sufficient security and authenticity of communication between the parties. As an encryption algorithm has been chosen widely used AES algorithm and as authentication algorithm has been chosen algorithm, which for authenticity requires knowledge of the secret key.
Power line disturbance model
Végh, Zoltán ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
Requirements for existing PLC systems are very high (services requiring data rates higher than 1 Mbit/s). To meet these requirements, you must have a model of with real PLC environment. This document provides an overview of basic properties of noise in PLC systems, focusing mainly on the colored background noise, narrowband interferers, and various types of impulive noise in the PLC. Furthermore, different models of interference created by different literatures and simulation models were created with any significant adverse environmental effects of the PLC.
Design of Advanced Simulation Model of DiffServ Technology in Opnet Modeler Environment
Machata, Tomáš ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor´s thesis was to get acquainted with the problems of ensuring quality of service in IP networks. The greatest attention was devoted to DiffServ technology and methods for the identification and classification of network traffic at edge routers. Simulation model of DiffServ technology was created in OPNET Modeler environment. This model contains a number of edge and core routers, switches, servers and client stations on which it is generating a network traffic (VoIP, HTTP, FTP and databases). Individual applications were included in different classes at the edge routers of DiffServ domain and the different behavior of the applications was ensured with usage of an Assured Forwarding PHB. It was found by using simulations which method of classification packets is the best for the quality of service. Furthermore the model of DiffServ technology was extended about alternative route. OSPF routing protocol was configured here and has been studied the impact of failure of the main line and using of alternative routes to the quality of service.
