The bachelor thesis deals with analysis of the system with seven solids with consideration of passive effect. In the first part of thesis describes the basics of statics and dynamics. Description of neutral and passive links, release method and reduction method. In the second part of the work are describing effects of passive effects on the movement state of the elevator. The individual bodies were released in the GeoGebra program. The aim of the example is to determine the contract forces in the links, check functionality of the links and state of motion. A Contribution to the Diplomacy of the United States of America and selected European Powers during the Wars of Independence (1776-1783)

This bachelor thesis deals with diplomatic relations between United states of America and European powers in the time period of war of Independence (1776-1783). In 1776 the continental congress declares independence on Great Britain. United states need support, therefore they turn to the most likely option, France. That is when the first negotiations of the United States of America begin. Negotiations go well and in time France joins United states in war against Britain. At this moment the focus of Brittish shifts to European shores and France. Situation gets worse for Britain when Spain decides to join the war against them. Spain's main focus is in Europe, Gibraltar. After succesful siege of Yorktown, Britain surrenders the war. Peace negotiations start and delegates from United States are forced to go behind their allies backs and negotiate with England. Thanks to Shelburne, Britain succeeds in gaining as much as possible, and settles on 3rd of November 1776 by signing the Paris treaty. Goal of this paper is to analyze and evaluate brittish position after the peace settlement and try to find the motives for Spanish behaviour and their actual role and importance in the war.

Health Security - Role of the Security Sector in Combating the 2014 Ebola Outbreak in Sierra Leone

This study assessed the role of the security sector in combating the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. In achieving the overall goal of the study, the assessment broadly covered the following: examined the national response structure before the outbreak; the emergence of Ebola and conspiracy theories in Sierra Leone, ascertained the early national Ebola response structure; the transition and composition to a new response architecture; assessed the effectiveness of policies and strategies by the security sector in combating Ebola; ascertained whether the effects of policies and strategies implored by the security sector in response to the outbreak; evaluated the impact of civil-military relations in combating the outbreak; and in the end examined the overall challenges in terms of the security sector's roles, and policies and strategies implored in responding to the outbreak. These areas broadly correspond to some of the objectives in response to the security sector's roles. Based on findings from assessing the areas stated above, the study has argued that the role played by the security sector in combating the 2014 Ebola outbreak have been largely effective. The discourse of hybrid threats in the Czech Republic

The topic of hybrid threats has established itself in Czech political discourse since the beginning of Crimean crisis and it has gradually transformed the notion of Czech security policy between 2014 and 2016. The goal of this thesis is to describe the process of construction of the Czech political hybrid threat discourse. The thesis will use constructivist framework and political discourse analysis to demonstrate, that the actors of international relations in mutual interaction consider their values, ideas and identities endangered, which leads to defensive discursive actions. The thesis will present Russian perception of the international order after the end of the Cold War and the way Russian state reacts to the perception of threat to its superpower status. Then it will focus on the Ukrainian crisis, which will be presented as a consequence of Russian political discourse on international policy. Later the empiric part focusing on hybrid war and presentation of Russian discourse of hybrid war will follow and I will demonstrate, that the central narrative of the Russian discourse of hybrid war is the very opposite of the Western discourse of hybrid war. Quantum Theory of International Relations: Modeling Strategic Interaction with Quantum Probability Theory

Recent results from cognitive psychology suggest that human behavior can be, in some situations, better described by laws known from physical quantum theory. This work responds to this development and seeks to answer the question of how quantum models of cognition and decision-making can contribute to our understanding of the social world. We introduce the approaches to the application of quantum theory in social sciences - quantum consciousness, quantum reasoning and quantum metaphor and further develop the second, in the context of strategic interaction in game theory. We show that the quantum model corresponds to both the psychological intuition and many empirically known anomalies such as the order effect, disjunction effect, or context effect. In this work, we derive a specific model of strategic interaction between two players, and we test it in the experimental Prisoner's Dilemma game. The model is based on the rational choice theory, which is nevertheless re-defined when it is shown how the strategic choice is changed if the quantum probability (C*-algebra) is used as the underlying theory instead of classical probability (σ-algebra). Targeted killing: How and when intelligence agencies eliminate their targets and the impact of emerging technologies

History has shown that assassination could be wielded as an effective weapon in the pursuit of interest, security and power. As the feudal age neared its end in Europe, nation states emerged. Despite its pragmatic usefulness, assassination was considered unfit for this new form of governance. States no longer sought to destroy one another as predicted by Thomas Hobbes, but adhered to John Locke's proposed values, which believed that states could mutually exist as rivals. In this system which favored negotiation and settlements, it was difficult for assassination to have a place. Yet at the start of the 21st century, assassination once again saw employment. As of today, it is preferably referred to as targeted killing by its employers and has become somewhat of a 'new normal.' Clearly, there must be certain permissive catalysts that allowed this to happen. 1 Introduction to the Thesis and the Importance of the Topic The sorting and the categorization of individuals and groups by their capacity and inclination to risky behavior or level of dangerousness has been and remains an essential function of security apparatus of the state and a vital component in state security. Practices of this kind became even more important in the age of international terror. The western world and specifically the United States has been the primary target of international terror suffering numerous terrorist attacks including the 9/11 attacks that became thedefining moment of how security functions in themodern world. While what we call "western world" is dominantly defined by liberal democratic political order, many of its societies and specifically the US is also defined by atechnology-enabled environment that scholarship characterizes as "surveillance society" (Gandy 1989, Lyon 2001, Lyon & Bauman 2012). Withintechnology-enabled environments the technologization of security was inevitable (Ceyhan 2008), and the 9/11 generated even more intense and enhanced efforts ofspeeding this process up (Lyon 2004, Ball and Webster 2003). Transformation of Recreational Facilities in Prague

The present thesis studies the transformation of recreational facilities of Prague. It is focused on a model area of villages, Ohrobec and Dolní Břežany, which have been long - term observed by the departement of social geography and regional development of Charles University in Prague. Although this area is a significant recreational zone, since 1990's it passes through a considerable number of changes. In this area the transformation of second home and suburbal activity occurs and changes the present landscape character. In an observed locality it has occured the tranformation of the structure of area users. The aim of the thesis is to find out how these people use this area, how do they identify themselves with the place where they live or relax and, what kind of mutual relationships they have. Due to the character of my topic, I have chosen several methods from qualitative research, the main source of information is questionnaire survey between the inhabitants and vacationers.

Methods for the determination of radiological impact of the food chains

The diploma work presents comprehensive overview of methods of determination of radiological impact on food chains. It describes the determination of radionuclides in groceries in common radiation situation and in unusual radiation situation. Practical part of the work presents two model radiation events. These are radiation event in the territory of Czech Republic and radiation event in the territory of other country and its impact on Czech Republic. In the end both model situations are compared.
