Mortality in high ages

In this thesis, we study modelling of mortality in high ages by several approaches. Some of mentioned models take into account the phenomenon of mortality deceleration. Further, we present several ways of estimating of exposed to risk in (almost) extinct cohorts. We focus especially on the survivor ratio method but we also mention the MD method and the DG method. Finally, we perform a numerical study.

We can encounter DRP in every general practitioner's - GPs - office all around the world. But with proper cooperation between practitioners and pharmacists we could reduce the number of problems. That would be big benefit for patients and health system as well. This thesis is focused on anticoagulant drugs, mainly on DOAC group - direct oral anticoagulants - and their DRP in it's theoretical part. Practical part of thesis is analysis of DRP in GPs office itself. Aim: Theoretical part - describe the process of haemostasis and the possibilities of influencing this process by drugs. DIC is providing expert information about drugs, such as answering medicines-related enquiries received from healthcare professionals. Objective: The objective of diploma thesis was to gather and analyze information about the informational service of LIC FAF UK a FN HK in 1994-2016 aimed for general characteristics of drug enquiries and professional drug information resources used for solving the enquiries. Methods: Detailed analysis of DIC activities was performed to compile suitable data. All enquiries from years between 1994 and 2016 were summarized into a database using Microsoft Excel software. Attitudes and beliefs on HPV infection and vaccination II Veronika Regnerová, PharmDr. Eva Zimčíková, Ph.D. Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer in women. The majority of cervical cancer cases are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Three vaccines have been approved to prevent HPV infection and related diseases. Objectives: The study aimed to analyse the knowledge and attitudes regarding HPV, cervical cancer and HPV vaccination in secondary school students in the Czech Republic. Methods: The study was carried out in May 2017 at four secondary schools. A questionnaire used for data collection comprised 15 items including questions on demographic characteristics, knowledge about cervical cancer and HPV, vaccination coverage, HPV perceived susceptibility and seriousness, and beliefs on HVP vaccination. Results: A total of 667 students participated (mean age: 16.8 y ± 1.18; 63% female); 20.5% were smokers, 24.7% God believers. Most of the students (97.0%) heard about cervical cancer and penile cancer, significant proportion (68.3%) knew HPV was the causative factor. Optical measurement of liquid surface tension

This bachelor thesis explores the topic of measuring surface tension of liquids. The theoretical section explains the basic principles as well as possibilities of application of several measuring methods. In the next part, the most suitable method is selected in terms of ease of use, accuracy and purchase cost. The pendent drop method has been found to fit these criteria. The experimental section of the thesis describes the measuring apparatus and the analytic tool used. The results comprise an analysis of the factors which may affect the measurement precision as well as a comparison of an automatic and a manual analysis, and a reference measurement that confirms the aperture as efficient at measuring surface tension of liquids.

Insurance pricing methods based on risk measures

In this thesis we study various risk measures and one of their characteristics - the coherence. We talk especially about value-at-risk (VaR in short), respectively about conditional value-at- risk (CVaR). We also mention the advantage of CVaR against VaR. After that we discuss the most common forms of compound distribution that are used in practice. The final part of this bachelor thesis is dedicated to a numerical study where we calculate mean, variance, VaR a CVaR for specific values of parameters.
Body image and body dissatisfaction in nonclinical population

The work deals with the theme of body image and dissatisfaction over one's own body in nonclinical population. Theoretical part includes knowledge of physical self perception and it focuses mainly on the factors that have some affect on the body image. Body image is significantly influenced by the age, sex, personal traits and an affiliation to a social class. The work also points out, that high demands have been recently placed on the visual aspects and how much slenderness is being idealized and the ideal of beauty has been displayed in the media. This results in the dissatisfaction with one's own body that may bring about considerable health, psychological and finally partnership problems. Last but not least the work demonstrates the overview of body image measurement methods. In the empirical part is suggested a survey which main goal is more complex interpretation of physical self perception in the elderly. This part illustrates how important the appearance for the elderly really is and what determines their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with one's own body and how much this contentment is related with the life quality of the senior citizens in general.
