Historical Outline of the Evolution of the Methods and Forms of Histological Examination

9. Abstract The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to capture the circumstances of the creation, establishment and gradual development of histological examinations in the context of medical history and the historical development of biological sciences. The content of the thesis is focused on clarification of the conditions of creation - discovery of examinations of histological character as the principal qualitative turn and its progress in the medicinal diagnosis. Further aim of the thesis underlines the clarification of single contributions of the important personalities that led to creation and promotion of the field of histology with impact on Czech (Czechoslovak) medical history. This methodology is linked also to the last objective of this thesis that focuses on capturing of the current state and the spectre of possibilities of histological examinations, the methods in use, and last but not least the position and the purpose of the histological task in the field of modern medicine and its respective areas.

Jan Babica Title of diploma thesis: Archives of the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum XIII. Archival collection Pharmacy Development Centre II. In my thesis I addressed the activity of the Pharmacy Development Center. In particular I dealed with the building up and internal equipment of the pharmacies. My goal was to create an inventory of the part of the archive of the Fond of Pharmacy Development Center which is related to the building up of the pharmacies and to sumarize the norms and their ammendments over the years on which the Pharmacy Development Center took part. Norms in this thesis are presented according to how they were ammended and what they concerned during the building up of the pharmacies. I inventorized a part of the Fond archive according to the registry key. I categorized, moved and discarded the documents. I created an archiving tool - inventory to ease the work of further developers.

Title of diploma thesis: History of diabetes treatment in the Czech countries The aims and objectives of the dissertation is to capture the historical development of the treatment of diabetes mellitus in the Czech countries from the earliest times to the present. Diabetes mellitus is a group of diseases whose common feature is hyperglycemia (high blood glucose). It is characterized by impaired secretion or insulin action, and is also associated with impaired metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. About 250 million people suffer from diabetes today and diabetes causes about 5 % of all deaths worldwide , so we can talk even about the global epidemic. In 2012, more than 841 thousand people suffered from diabetes in the Czech Republic, which is about 8% of the Czech population . This represents an increase of number of registered diabetics by about 16,000 people in comparision of the year 2011. Title of doctoral thesis: Contributions to the history of the pharmaceutical industry, marketing and advertising in the Czechoslovak Republic in 1918 - 1938 Doctoral thesis "The history of the pharmaceutical industry, marketing and advertising in the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918 - 1938" explores the origins and development of pharmaceutical marketing, with a focus on one component of the marketing mix namely advertising. The thesis is divided into chapters that deal with the origins and development of the pharmaceutical industry, describing the formation of companies Interpharma and Druvet, describes fundamental elements of the marketing mix. The thesis also discusses basic elements of the marketing mix such as a medicinal product, pricing and promotion. Pharmacy in the Czech Lands between 1938/39 and 1945

English version Subject: Pharmacy in the Czech lands between 1938/39 and 1945. Objective: Study of pharmacy in the Czech Lands between 1938 and 1945 and study of the pharmaceutical branches, especially pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical education, pharmaceutical industry and professional organizations during the World War II. Methods: Processing of the historical pharmaceutical press from Czech pharmaceutical museum in Kuks. Results: The financial situation of pharmaceutical staff between 1939 and 1945 was increased by pay rise and turnover rise in pharmacy. Short supply of ingredients was equalized by increase in drug production in pharmaceutical industry. University education of pharmacists was stopped by Germans in 1939. Jewish companies in pharmaceutical industry were impouded by german merchants. Conclusion: Business in pharmacy during the World War II was successful for pharmacy owners and their employees. Many pharmaceutical problems such as increase in pharmaceutical rates, build up of Pharmaceutical centre and particular unification of professional organizations was resolved.

Drug Problems in Youth in the Region of the Town Vsetín

Job title: DRUG PROBLEMS IN SCHOOL YOUTH IN VSETIN CITY REGION Author: Zdeňka Krchová Thesis Supervisor: Doc. PhDr. František Dohnal, CSc. Aim of the study: determine the drug issue of school youth in the region Vsetín, motivation to use drugs and find a way to prevent drug use. Methods: survey of 80 students, consultation with students Results: The survey shows that students encounter the first drug already at 9 years 5% and most often at 13 and 14 years of age 18%. As for illicit drugs students reported experience with cannabis 45%, other drugs 11%, alcohol 87% and cigarettes 80%. The drug was mostly offered in the company, 60% of students say. 100% of students stated that drug brought them fun, relaxation and integration into society. When asked if they knew where to find professional help if needed, 100% said they knew but would never need that anyway. Conclusions: I have come to the conclusion that most students try first narcotic drugs and other addictive substances just because they see it as a source of entertainment, incorporation into a society, relaxation, etc. My research shows that many students have tried drugs berween 13-14 years of age. Study of sources and literature on the issue of changes in all spheres of society after 1989 with an emphasis on the transformation of health care.
