Continuous Glucose Monitoring
Conde, Catarina Saavedra ; Brož, Jan (advisor)
I chose continuous glucose monitoring for my diploma thesis, based on the importance to improve diabetes care and to reduce the risk of the development and progression of complications. The worldwide prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus has risen dramatically over the past decades. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevalence (CDC) estimated that 366 million individuals would have diabetes by the year of 2030. Diabetes Mellitus is a multi-factorial disease, which requires intensive metabolic control to avoid the chronic complications, and this metabolic control includes the continuous glucose monitory system (CGMS) in comparison to conventional methods of metabolic control, such as glycohemoglobin (HbA1c), capillary and venous glucose determinations, lipidogram and insulin levels controls. Devices for continuous blood glucose monitoring are currently used and they measure the glucose in the interstitial fluid (ISF) that is in equilibrium with blood glucose. These devices provide retrospective glucose values or even real time glucose values. (In this way) continuous monitoring will give multiple glucose measures not just during the day but also during the night and with possibility to predict the glucose values in the future. One of the important functions of this devices is the alarms that notify the patient...

The Jesus's prayer on the Cross in the Gospel of Matthew and Mark. The bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the grace of Jesus Christ being crucified, as writtern down by the Evangelists Mark and Matthew. After the introduction the theme of prayer is analysed and in the both presentations - in the Old & New Testament. 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?'" - this is the key text of the whole thesis. The key text is then further occupied in the 3rd chapter, where we can also find the internal structure of the so called Passion Narrative written by the Evangelists Mark and Matthew. The exegetic part is initially focused on the commentary of the psalm no. 22,2 (Jesus's prayer on the Cross is as a matter of the fact a quotation of the introduction of this psalm.) And later on, the exegetic part is focused on the verse line by verse line explanation of the Passion Narrative as written by the Evangelists Mark and Matthew. The thesis is completed by the analyse of the topic, which come from the mentioned text and which has the impact on the current human life - dereliction. Keywords gospel, psalm 22, suffering, passion

Vítová, Markéta ; Hřebík, Josef (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE Images of the relationship between the Lord and the people of Israel in the prophetical books of the Old Testament Images which the prophets of Israel, inspired by the Holy Spirit, used to express the relationship between the Lord and the people of Israel are described and explained in this thesis. The images are taken from various spheres of life of ancient people (e.g. family and matrimony, agriculture, nature, social setting etc.). Theological message of these images is also formed. Emphasis is given to images from the family and matrimony and agriculture. The prophets used the images in order to talk about God truly, but not too concretely. The images can also help us to imagine a biblical text, to take an attitude to the facts about we read and answer to God. The images complete each other and in this way they show a wide spectra of the God`s love. They called Israel to live a good life, to be faithful to God and to serve him. They also encouraged people in the difficult and sad situations. The Old Testament images are used and fulfilled in the New Testament and they perform the relationship between Christ and his Church.
Vychází z teoretických a praktických přístupů, přičemž vše propojuje s poznatky získaný během terénního výzkumu. Zohledňuje filozofický, teologický, axiologický, speciálně pedagogický a etický pohled na danou problematiku a hledá srozumitelné...
The Raising of Lazarus
Dlasková, Marie ; Brož, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Scarano, Angelo (referee)
The purpose of the Bachelor thesis "The Raising of Lazarus: Exegesis and Spiritual Message of John 11:1-46" is a focus on the narrative in John's Gospel presenting the crucial sign of Jesus public ministry before his passion and the chain of events connected with this miracle. Consequently, it contains a brief characteristic of John's Gospel which is linked to the authorship and source. At the same time it focuses on the context, relationships, descriptions and reference in John's Gospel which this story brings. But above all it reflects the theological meaning of the Jesus' ministry and the miracles that are undestood as "signs." The main theme is the Jesus greatest miracle which he performed at the end of his public ministry where he claims to be the Resurrection and the Life as the One who can give eternal life impervious to death. The words which Jesus said to Martha prior to the raising of Lazarus from the dead are the main theme in this essay. They explain the connection and continuity between faith and life and enlighten the inner theological relations in this episode.

Štemberková, Marie ; Ryšková, Mireia (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
The Bachelor thesis The Figure of the Apostle Peter in Canonical Gospels is focussed on displaying of the leading Jesus disciple depicted in all the Gospels and the most frequently mentioned of Jesus' disciples. All canonical Gospels had their origin with a certain time span from the depicted events, so it is necessary to take into account the later reflection of his authentic life story. The first chapter summarizes the basic facts about his origin and social inclusion, attention is also paid to the use of the native name of Simon in comparison with the accepted name of Peter, by which he entered the history of the Church. The chapter provides an overview of all Petrine pericopes, verses and even brief references. The second chapter discusses the pericopes and verses shared by at least of two gospels, observing their coincidences and differences. The third chapter is focussed on special pericopes, recorded only by one of the evangelists, who, in these cases, drew on special traditions. Simon Peter was called by Jesus to follow among the first disciples, from the beginning he played a leading role among them, profiled as their spokesperson. Even though the gospel writers gave Peter individual character traits, he often had in their concepts to represent a typical Jesus disciple, with all the...
