The company Logio is a representative project managed companies and it focuses on logistics process optimalization in particular. The goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze current state of the project management within this consulting company and to propose a solution of its project management improvement. A supplement of this diploma thesis is also a proposal of the project management metodology framework that could be used in this company.
Implementation of PRINCE2 project management methodology to Unicorn Universe service

The goal of Master's thesis is analysis of suitability of Unicorn Universe service, which is operated by Unicorn Company, for implementation of PRINCE2 project management methodology. Theoretical and Methodological part of Master's thesis includes description of PRINCE2 methodology and description of methods, which are used for requirements analysis and analysis of Unicorn Universe service. The analysis of Unicorn Universe service confirmed that this service is suitable for implementation of PRINCE2 methodology. This suitability is also proven by implementation of chosen part of PRINCE2 methodology. The Master's thesis recommends the implementation of PRINCE2 methodology to Unicorn Universe service. There are estimated economical and non-economical benefits, which are brought by this implementation to Unicorn and Unicorn its clients.

Both parts are designed to show the practical application of project management in one of the largest consulting companies in the world.
Planning Private Business Start-Up

The main objective of the thesis is to use several managerial tools in order to plan how to start a private Moroccan-Czech business in the Czech Republic. In order to achieve this goal, the main objective was subdivided in a set of partial goals. To start a business includes firstly to have an idea and to consider its viability through a feasibility study before planning its execution. Secondly, to support the startup process from the procedural point of view, it is reasonable to use project management since it revealed processes that are common to any project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, control and closure. The application of these processes helps to create a structured action plan. In order to answer all questions, the thesis is divided in three steps. In the first one, project management is explained as well as its concepts and processes and application method. The second step describes the methodology of a startup business; and the third step is the achievement of the constructed methodology in a real business planning, that is monitored and evaluated continuously. The result of the thesis is a business idea verified as viable through a feasibility study. Then a business plan is prepared in order to detail the opportunity, strategy and financial expectations; this document is a key to find investors, funding or associates and should consider potential risks and how to avoid or solve them. When the financial and material requirements are met, the legal and administrative procedures as well as the company installation can start. The thesis also includes a time schedule and budget to every activity which have to be respected and continuously controlled during the business operation executing. However, some risks may appear during the project, and a good preparation and planning means keeping in mind the project's achievement.
Analysis of problems of the project portfolio in DHL

The thesis analyzes problems of the project portfolio in DHL Express (Czech Republic) s.r.o. in years 2007 - 2009. It also includes situation analysis of project management in the company. There were used these methods for analyses: SWOT analysis, Pareto analysis and the tree of causal relationships. Based on these analyses was made some recommendations in this thesis, which should lead to elimination of identified problems in future.

The aim of this thesis is to explore management challenges of an enterprise, which it has to face in the times of turbulent economic changes and which are difficult to handle for a functional organization. The solution provided by this thesis is to successfully implement process and project management systems. The theory part provides an introduction to the principles of project management and process management, focusing on their integration and practical application in the real business environment. The thesis also aims at powers and responsibilities delegation for project managers and process owners as well as their necessary competences. The practical part will study a real case of the implementation of a new process and project management system, comparing the results of the enterprise before and after the implementation.
Analasis of implementation of Customer-Self Repair project in Hewlett-Packard

The aim of this diploma paper is to analyze the Customer Self-Repair project in Hewlett-Packard especially from costs and savings point of view that can be expected after the implementation of procedural changes that had to be made in the course of the project, while also indicate where mistakes were made from the perspective of project management and make suggestions on possible improvements in the future. The theoretical and methodological part is summed up a general theory concerning the problems of project management. The third chapter focuses on the practices of project management in the company, the definition stage the project should undergo and the criteria that should meet in order to pass the approval process. In the analysis of the project itself is captured the service model for the repairs of personal computers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Than identification of error and procedural complications that occurred during the project. . At the end of this chapter is an analysis of actual savings and costs that can be realistically expected in the closing phase of the project. The last chapter contains a summary and suggestions for management of future projects in the company.
Strategy of Small Management Consulting Firm

Main goal of the thesis is an analysis of a position and resources of a real small management consulting firm, then to suggest possible strategic scenarios of a firm's expansion. The theoretical part contains issues related to general strategic management. The issues are accompanied by alternative points of view on a strategic planning, for example by Mantra and Master Idea concepts and Effectuation. Consequently, specific issues of management consulting firms related to strategic management are described. Whole theoretical part is based on world literature primarily. The practical part of the thesis starts by a description of the analyzed firm and strategic premises of firm's owners. Next part is an analysis of a firm's position and resources. It consists of analyzes of external macro and micro environment, analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. After analyzes, there are strategic scenarios and consequent strategic steps described. The steps are divided onto three groups. First group consist of steps which influence whole firm. Second group contains steps on a field of management consulting. Last group is focused on education market.
