Self-Modifying Programs in Cartesian Genetic Programming
Minařík, Miloš ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
During the last years cartesian genetic programming proved to be a very perspective area of the evolutionary computing. However it has its limitations, which make its use in area of large and generic problems impossible. These limitations can be eliminated using the recent method allowing self-modification of programs in cartesian genetic programming. The purpose of this thesis is to review the development in this area done so far. Next objective is to design own solutions for solving various problems that are hardly solvable using the ordinary cartesian genetic programming. One of the problems to be considered is generating the terms of various Taylor series. Due to the fact that the solution to this problem requires generalisation, the goal is to prove that the self-modifying cartesian genetic programming scores better than classic one for this problem. Another discussed problem is using the self-modifying genetic programming for developing arbitrarily large sorting networks. In this case, the objective is to prove that self-modification brings new features to the cartesian genetic programming allowing the development of arbitrarily sized designs.
ALPS Technique in Cartesian Genetic Programming
Stanovský, Peter ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
This work introduces a brief summary of softcomputing and the solutions to NP-hard problems. It especially deals with evolution algorithms and their basic types. The next part involves the study of cartesian genetic programming, which belongs to the field of evolution algorithms, used mainly in the evolution of digital circuits, symbolic regression, etc. A special chapter is devoted to the studies of new technique Age layered population structure, which deals with the problems of premature convergence, which suggests the way of how the population could be divided into subpopulations split up according to the age criteria. Thanks to the maintaining of sufficient diversity, it achieves substantially better solutions in comparison to the classical evolution algorithms. This papier includes the suggestion of two ways of incorporation of the ALPS technique into CGP. In the next part of work there were carried out tests on the classic problems, that would be solved with evolution algorithms. These tests were made with and without using ALPS technique. In the part of work "Experimental results" there was discussed a contribution of using ALPS technique in CGP against the classic CGP.
Design and Implementation of a Tool for Hierarchical Graphical Specification of Real-Time Systems
Gach, Marek ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This thesis is aimed to specify and implement multi-purpose framework able to deal with graphical real-time system specification. This tool allows to use arbitrary verification approach to resulting system model check. Description of basic formal specification methods based on mathematic logic is done. Some well-known hierarchical graphical specifications for real-time systems are depictured. Author proposed suitable cases for functionality examination of resulting framework.
Remote Object Monitoring
Šorčík, Ladislav ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of the project was to create independent system, which is able to supervise remote site using Ethernet network. It can measure temperature and check state of door magnetic contact. Gained information are sent over network to the cenral node, which is able to present them on web page. In the project are also discussed important network protocols needed for implementation of the system, hardware used for implementation and software of the system.
Development Board for 32-bit Microcontroller Atmel AT91SAM9261
Demín, Martin ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Vestavený hardware je velice populární v této době. Proto jsme se rozhodli vytvořit desku s mikrokontrolérem AT91SAM9261 spolu so standartným a nestandartným hardwarem.
Management of UPS Supplies with GSM Technology
Hájek, Josef ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Theme of the Master's thesis is issue of backup power units and its attributes. There is also complete proposal of UPS power unit which can be used to control and monitor backup batteries. Power supply is fully controlled via Ethernet interface using TCI/IP protocol. The other chapter describes complete development of TCI/IP GSM unit which can be used for communication interface between GSM and Ethernet protocol. UPS and GSM modules are developed in details. The Master.s thesis includes all needed information for HW unit development and also for controlling software as well. Universal solution of the modules allows number possibilities of further development.
Anomaly Detection in DNS Traffic
Vraštiak, Pavel ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis is written in collaboration with NIC.CZ company. It describes basic principles of DNS system and properties of DNS traffic. It's goal an implementation of DNS anomaly classifier and its evaluation in practice.
Sensor Modules for ZigBee Wireless Network
Ochmann, Tomáš ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement modules for wireless sensor network ZigBee. These modules could communicate together and share information about measured values. The network will be managed by coordinator of network, which will process data from sensor modules and will decide about next steps around the network.
Electronic Compass
Špaňhel, Petr ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with a design and construction of equipment that should offer an easy approach to measurement of temperature, air pressure and angular orientation to the Earth surface. Subsequently, this set of infromation will be shown in a concise way on a graphic LCD display. The introductory chapter provides a general outline to the hardware conception, which primarily involves reading of data from sensors and their graphical visualization. Details on control firmware aspects are included in the following two chpaters. Fourth chapter is aimed at device operation and its user interface. Finally, evaluation of the results and conclusion is provided.
Bluetooth GPS Logger
Vymětal, Jan ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of autonomous low-consumption device which is logging dates from external GPS throught Bluetooth serial transfering module.
