A Test Site of Spacewalk XML-RPC Interface

This thesis covers the creation of test suite for Spacewalk XML-RPC interface. It focuses on library which is intended to simplify such a creation. The solution is based on analysis of Spacewalk from the perspective of XML-RPC communication. The thesis also presents several methods which could be used for quality of tests evaluation. Implementation of the method of branch-code coverage is demonstrated.

Using of laserinterferometer Renishaw for straightness and flatness measurement

This diploma dissertation deals with straightness and flatness measurement and data evaluation. For all measurements laserinterferometer Renishaw has been used. The main purpose of this diploma work is to get values of straightness on the travel of microscope, decrypt computing methods leading to graphs of straightness, re-count it by ČSN standards and compare both sets of graphs. Flatness measurement is performed on a desk before and after lapping and these results are compared.

House with motoservis

The project processes technical documentation of a detached family house with motoservis in the newly pulled over territory. The building i located in Lysá nad Labem. The building has two floors and no basement. In the first floor there is the workshop – motoservis for the homeover. The house has a garage with parking for one car. The house is based on the underlying strip of plain concrete and walled building sytem Porotherm. The roof of the second floor is shed with a slope of 10%. Roofing is skived metal. The roof of the first floor is designed as a flat with minimum slope 3%. It is designed for walking.

Monetary Transmission: Are Emerging Market and Low-Income Countries Different?

We use two representations of the yield curve, by Litterman and Scheinkman (1991) and by Diebold and Li (2006), to test the functioning of the interest rate transmission mechanism along the yield curve based on government paper in a sample of emerging market and low-income countries. We find a robust link from short-term policy and interbank rates to longer-term bond yields. Two policy implications emerge. First, the presence of well-developed secondary financial markets does not seem to affect transmission of short term rates along the yield curve. Second, the strength of the transmission mechanism seems to be affected by the choice of monetary regime: advanced countries with a credible IT regime seem to have “better behaved” yield curves than those with other monetary regimes.

A Modified Limited-Memory BNS Method for Unconstrained Minimization Derived from the Conjugate Directions Idea

A modification of the limited-memory variable metric BNS method for large scale unconstrained optimization of the differentiable function $f:{\cal R}^N\to\cal R$ is considered, which consists in corrections (based on the idea of conjugate directions) of difference vectors for better satisfaction of the previous quasi-Newton conditions. In comparison with [11], more previous iterations can be utilized here. For quadratic objective functions, the improvement of convergence is the best one in some sense, all stored corrected difference vectors are conjugate and the quasi-Newton conditions with these vectors are satisfied. The algorithm is globally convergent for convex sufficiently smooth functions and our numerical experiments indicate its efficiency.
