Buchar, Matouš ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Title: Achievement motivation in long distance triathlon. Objectives: Determine the level of achievement motivation among triathletes, what are the differences in achievement motivation in comparison with the general population and what are the main components of achievement motivation among triathletes focusing on long distance triathlons. Methods: To determine achievement motivation we will use LMI questionnaire. To determine the level of achievement motivation we will convert the results of averages using standardized table of standard nine values that will be drawn to test profile. For statistical comparison of triathletes and general population will be used the unpaired t-test and we will determine statistically significant differences. Results: Triathletes shown higher values in the various dimensions of achievement motivation in comparison with the general population. Statistically significant differences were demonstrated in the dimensions of: endurance (t = 2.08; p ≤ 0.05), engagement (t = 2.34; p ≤ 0.05), flow (t = 2.08; p ≤ 0.05), the preference of difficulty (t = 2.14; p ≤ 2.14) and competition (t = 2.37; p ≤ 0.05). Effect of swimming on the overall triathlon performance in triathlon races World Championships in years 2000 - 2010
Koktová, Veronika ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Title: The influence of swimming part of triathlon the total performance in competitions of world championships 2000-2010. Objectives: The aim is to investigate the influence of the swimming part of the total performance in triathlon in the lost 10 years. Methods: The relation between two variables (times from swimming and the total time of competitions from competitions of world championships 2000-2010 were described with the help of linear regression. Individual years were then compared in a point graph. Results: Our hypothese were confirmmed. It means that the result from the swimming part explains the result from the competition in less than 30%, which means the R2 is smaller than 0,3. We also found, that the influnence of the swimming part on the final result in triathlon has not changed in the last years. The relationship times in the swimming part and total (final) times was closest in 2005 (R2= 0,21). In other years, this dependence is lower, R2 was smaller than 0,07. Keywords: linear regression, longitudinal analysis, performance

Jurič, Miroslav ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Title: Effect of cycling on the overall performance in triathlon Objectives: The aim is to determine the influence of the cycling part on the total performance in the individual disciplines of triathlon. Methods: I used a linear regression for the determination of influence of cycling part on the total performance. The investigated values were compared in a column graph. Results: The dependence, rated by coefficient of determination by disciplines with allowed ride in the lee was "low" (R2 =0,069; R2 =0,01). The influence of the cycling section on the total result in triathlon was higher by disciplines without the chance of the lee than by disciplines with allowed ride in the lee. The influence by disciplines with allowed ride in lee was less than 10%, and it was 36 % by discipline with banned ride in the lee. The cycling section of a long triathlon didn't influence the total result more than the running part of a long distance triathlon. The influence of the running part was 7% higher. The cycling part affected the total result in an off-road triathlon a lot. The value 81 % means a big influence of the cycling section on the total result in an off-road triathlon. Veselý, Vít ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Červinka, Pavel (referee)
Title: Analysis of running technique and efficiency when using Nike Air Zoom Alphafly shoes. Objectives: The main goal is to identify possible changes in selected physiological parameters and biomechanics of running when using Nike Air Zoom Alphafly shoes compared to standard running shoes. Methods: A 3D treadmill (H/P Cosmos Gaitway II S, Germany) was used in the analysis of running biomechanics. For the analysis of physiological parameters, the Metalyzer device was used within the spiroergometric examination of the run. The Borg scale was used to analyze the subjective assessment of the load. A paired T-test of Excel software was used to process the results. Results: The results of the work partially show a change in the biomechanics of running. A statistically significant difference was recorded at all speeds (15 km/h, 18 km/h, 21 km/h) in loading rate (p15 = 0,003; p18 = 0,000; p21 = 0,001) and time to impact peak (p15 = 0,017; p18 = 0,022; p21 = 0,003). At a speed of 15 km/h, an additional difference in running cadence (p = 0,044) was noted. The results show a statistically significant change in the economics of running all measured parameters, in oxygen intake converted to kilograms of weight (p = 0,003), minute ventilation (p = 0,000), respiratory rate (p = 0,000), respiratory coefficient (p...
