Distributed Ray Tracing in Reasonable Time
Slovák, Radek ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with the method of distributed ray tracing focusing on optimalization of this method. The method uses simulation of some attributes of light by distributing rays of lights and it produces high quality and partly realistic images. The price for realitic effects is the high computational complexity of the method. The thesis analysis the theory connected with these aspects. A large part describes optimalizations of this method, i.e. searching for the nearest triangle intersection using kd-trees, quasi random sampling with faster convergence, the use of SSE instruction set and fast ray - triangle intersection. These optimalizations brought a noticable speed - up. The thesis includes description of implementation of these techniques. The implementation itself emphasises the practical usability including generating some advanced animations and universal description of objects.
Graphics Intro 64kB Using OpenGL
Geršl, Jan ; Kubíček, Radek (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The field of this project is size restricted graphic intro. The paper deals with motivation creating such an intro and talks briefly about history. Main focus is put on general description of various principles common in demo development, techiques used achieving the practical assignment are provided with more detailed description.
Human Face Recognition
Burián, Pavel ; Ševcovic, Jiří (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the problematic of the human face recognition in an image. It describes the face detection principles, methods used in recognition problematic and existing face data sets. Thesis is aimed on analysis, comparison and testing of the eigenface, fisherface and KDDA (Kernel Direct Discriminant Analysis) algorithms.
Re-Identification of Vehicles by License Plate Recognition
Špaňhel, Jakub ; Juránková, Markéta (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis aims at proposing vehicle license plate detection and recognition algorithms, suitable for vehicle re-identification. Simple urban traffic analysis system is also proposed. Multiple stages of this system was developed and tested. Specifically - vehicle detection, license plate detection and recognition. Vehicle detection is based on background substraction method, which results in an average hit rate of ~92%. License plate detection is done by cascade classifiers and achieves an average hit rate of 81.92% and precision rate of 94.42%. License plate recognition based on Template matching results in an average precission rate of 60.55%. Therefore the new license plate recognition method based on license plate scanning using the sliding window principle and neural network recognition was introduced. Neural network achieves a precision rate of 64.47% for five input features. Low precision rate of neural network is caused by small amount of training sample for some specific license plate characters.
Web Tool for Handling WGS84 Coordinates
Fichtl, Miloš ; Šilhavá, Jana (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The work focuses on the principles of positioning and then define the coordinate systems. In the WGS84 coordinate system describes the most common operations are co-ordinates.
Capturing Very High Quality Images of Planar Surfaces by a Smartphone
Šebela, Vít ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to design and create mobile app for iOS platform, which will allow the capture of high quality image of planar surface. Application can be used in lots of use cases where high quality of captured image is needed, like capturing photo of contract, wood pattern or book cover. Main building block of the application is to capture set of photos of planar surface, which is then used for calculation of the resulting high quality image. Calculation is performed using OpenCV library. Planar homography is used for image alignment, the quality of the resulting image is then achieved by combination of image averaging techniques, increase of resolution and reconstruction of details using Lanczos interpolation and image sharpening using Unsharp mask technique.
Iris Image Quality Assessment
Vaško, Marek ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
Iris image recognition is one of the most accurate ways of biometric identification. Various verification errors can be caused if the biometric system receives poor input. By assessing the image quality it is possible to eliminate inputs causing such errors. There is a relatively insignificant development in the field of iris quality assessment and many methods that could potentially be used have not been tested in this area yet. This work focuses on different quality assessment methods used in face recognition. These quality assessment methods are then applied to the area of iris identification. The solution uses verification systems based on various iResNet and MobileNetV3 architectures. Selected quality assessment methods are applied to individual systems. Different quality assessment methods train either the system directly or use its outputs to obtain information about quality. The resulting system achieves a reduction of false non-match rate by up to 56% with the absolute value of 0.5% for iResNet50 and up to 22 \% with the absolute value of 6.4% for MobileNetV3 when using the best quality assessment method. The results are given for the data set University of Notre Dame Iris CrossSensor 2013 with an input reject rate of 10% and a false match rate of 0.1%.
Web Based System for Sport Performance Monitoring
Píč, Karel ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This work create web training diary for trainers and athletes in cross-country skiing. Currently diary is in Microsoft Excel tables with specific structure. Diary in Microsoft Excel format is used by every cross-country skiing team in Czech Republic. Its output consists of a large amount of numbers which are used for an evaluation of an sportman's effort. My sports diary should facilitate the comunications among trainers and athletes by converting the diary in Microsoft Excel format into web interface as quick access. It should also generate different kinds of statistics as graphs and summaries from numerical values which are unclear to improve training performance and process. Athletes would need to fill in only some data by a few clicks to get their graphical summary.
The Ultimate Arcade Suitcase
Erlich, Lukáš ; Kapinus, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create an entertaining case (hardware and software) designed for various occasions such as weddings, celebrations, team building events and others. Its task is to run retro arcade games and also acts as a jukebox to play mp3 songs. The core of the case consists of a Raspberry Pi and audio-visual and control peripherals connected to it. Console and jukebox software is downloaded from GitHub open-source projects RetroPie and FruitBox. A simple graphical user interface is created over the operating system and the user is also allowed to manage the case remotely by using a web manager made in the Laravel framework. I created a complex system of applications, combining with OS and hardware components. The work shows the use of simple computers in more complex systems, their capabilities and techniques of cooling. The case designed in this work is fully functional.
Web Application for Intuitive Composition of Text Filters
Sadílek, Jakub ; Kolář, Martin (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to provide intuitive and easy to use tool for advanced text filtration with the option of easy prototyping and tuning, without the necessity to know programming techniques. The basic principle is the choice of text tools and their inserting into the sequence, so called pipeline, which is typical for shell, from which the application draws inspiration. Tools can be also additionally edited or swapped. The application is aimed primarily at users unfamiliar with this principle or at programmers, for whom it is time-efficient to have their text modified this way and afterwards generate equivalent shell expression. Another way of tuning is realized using so called breakpoints, through which it is easy to quickly focus on chosen lines of the text. This way, the application offers functionality in two separated modes, between which the users can switch anytime according to their needs.
