Realistic Rendering Using Radiosity
Janoušek, Jiří ; Kršek, Přemysl (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with one of the global illumination algorithms - the radiosity algorithm. There are handled fundamentals of the radiosity algorithm including basic equations and relations. You can see review of possible solutions of this method in use and description of the implementation based on video card and OpenGL rendering. The thesis tries to explain main problems and attitudes to implementation of radiosity briefly, clearly and comprehensibly.
Virtual Textures
Biberle, Zdeněk ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with a technique known as Virtual textures or Megatextures. It describes possible ways of implementing this technique on consumer-grade graphics hardware. It also touches on the subject of the VortexVT library, a library developed to ease integration of virtual texturing into new or already existing graphics systems.
Recognition of Driving Lane Borders in Video from On Board Camera
Letovanec, Lukáš ; Bartl, Vojtěch (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to the issue of driving lane borders recognition in frames of an onboard camera. In this thesis, an architecture of a deep convolutional neural network is introduced, by means of which the said problem is dealt with. The net was trained on a large dataset using gradient descent algorithm. The trained model has demonstrated the ability to recognize borders of a driving lane well in different situations and conditions. The result of the thesis confirms that deep convolutional neural networks are a suitable tool for driving lane borders recognition.
Optimization of LAMP (linux/apache/mysql/php)
Kotlář, Pavel ; Fapšo, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This work deals with topic of LAMP software bundle performance optimalization. Step by step, it tries to discover performance problems in all four parts of LAMP (in Linux, HTTP server Apache, MySQL database and PHP language interpreter). A model web application is created for these testing purposes. When a problem is found, a change in configuration files is done or a performance improving technology is applied to the corresponding part. A set of optimalization recommendations is compiled and verified on server running real web application.
Detection of Boxes in Image
Žitňanský, Adam ; Špaňhel, Jakub (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis addresses the problem of cuboid detection, more specifically boxes detection in images. The main result is the implementation of a system for boxes detection based on corners and edges. The system consists of a CNN regression-based corner and edge points detector and decoder, which takes CNN output and turns it into a 2d model of the cuboid. As a part of this work also a a dataset of boxes with 550 images with corners and edges annotations was created
Development of "Turistický Atlas" Web Pages
Sedlmajer, Kamil ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the process of creating new version of tourist website and on its design, implementation and evaluation of further adjustments leading to the developmentof the project. The new website is written in PHP with use of Nette framework and is optimized for PC and mobile devices. The thesis further deals with creation and testing of user interface, the SEO optimization and evaluation of achieved results.
A Tool for Presenting Videos and Other Content on a Touchscreen
Zapletal, Libor ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the development of application for Windows using WPF focused on presenting videos using touch. The application is very easy to use and its main purpose is to facilitate the users to select the content that interests them. This thesis describes the main features of WPF, analysis of competing solutions, application design and its implementation. Furthermore, this thesis describes various problems during development. At the end of the thesis are evaluated the resultings of solution, its further development and testing method.
User Interface for Gathering Quotations
Vaverka, Martin ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
There is a huge emphasis on graphical user interfaces today. Design of these interfaces compounds of several stages. First thing to do is to find out, whose for is it and what is the purpose of the interface. We should use modern trends to advance our user interface and to be succesfull with it. There is a hudge importance of simplify, intuitiveness and overal lucidity.
Mobile App for Making Challenges and Taking Part in Them
Plachý, Tomáš ; Kolář, Martin (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problematics of designing, implementing and testing of mobile application for operationg systems iOS and Android.     The main work of this thesis is development of an application, which allows its users to create challenges and invite their friends to participate in them. Users can also watch the progress of other participants in a challenge, which can give themselve more motivation to complete the challenge.   The application was designed and developed with focus on opinions of its users. I have started by developing a prototype in order to find out, which functions do the users find the most crucial. Thereafter I created the first official version, which was subsequently iteratively improved with regard to feedback from testers.
Web Tool for Testing Based on Q-Sorting
Persich, Alexandr ; Bartl, Vojtěch (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Q-sorting is one of many methods used to determine people's subjectivity. The main goal of this thesis is to present ways used to design and create web application for Q-sort method. I have been focusing mainly on designing user interface which greatly affects the number of successfully finished surveys. To accomplish this, I have used common web technologies. The result is a web tool which allows to create and manage new surveys. For respondents it provides simple and intuitive user interface which makes the process of Q-sorting easier.
