Significance of mycorrhizal symbiosis in invasiveness of Pinus strobus
Antl, Tomáš ; Kohout, Petr (advisor) ; Baláž, Milan (referee)
6 Abstract This study aimed to compare the mycorrhizal fungal communities inhabiting the roots of invasive Pinus strobus L. and native Pinus sylvestris L. We also compared carbon allocation into ectomycorrhizal fungal (EcMf) and other structures of the two pine species. The aim was to assess the influence of mycorrhiza on the invasive potential of P. strobus in the protected areas of National Park Bohemian Switzerland. The two field experiments were conducted on three locations of each species. We estimated the EcM extramatrical mycelium (EMM) production by measuring the ergosterol content in sterile sand filled mesh-bags. Next measured variables were: biomass of ectomycorrhizal and saprotrophic sporocarps, fine roots biomass and leaf litter biomass to compare the one season production of each measured variables. The results revealed a major difference in EcM sporocarps production, whereas on the P. sylvestris sites was the production 100% higher. Same results came from the fine roots measurements: P. sylvestris had a higher fine roots production, which may be also related with the production of EMM, which was about 60% higher as well. The EcMf species richness on the P. strobus root-tips was as high as the native pine, but the species composition was different. The P. strobus prefers EcMf species with...
International Contract for Large Industrial Works
Kohout, Petr ; Dobiáš, Petr (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
Large industrial works represents an interesting subject of foreign trade in which countries may have competitive advantage. These industrial works also forms a large part of the state economy. Contracts that covers such transactions are very difficult, whether due to the volume and duration of supply, and because of possible problems with funding, with the political situation at the place of delivery, etc. Contracts covering such a transactions could be very tricky to draft because of either volume and duration of supply, funding issues or political instability in the region etc. The aim of this thesis is to introduce basic concept and principles that are linked to international trade with large industrial works. The thesis is mainly focused on contracting opportunities, ie the general approaches to contracting for the supply of capital equipment. The main theme is - within the specification, form of contract for the supply of capital equipment, as well as other resources that can be used during drafting the contract, such as commercial conventions and more. Thesis is logically divided into six chapters (including introduction and conclusion). The firts part of the thesis familiarize the reader with basic concepts - those are the "large industrial works " and "international business transactions."...
Occurrence and significance of fungi associating with mycotrophic plants
Kohout, Petr ; Vohník, Martin (advisor) ; Gryndler, Milan (referee)
Mycorrhizal symbiosis represents one of the most important symbioses in the plant kingdom. It is a mutualistic interaction between plant roots and filamentous fungi, where fungal partner provides mineral nutrients, water and often improved protection against pathogens and plants supply fungi with photosynthetic assimilates. Besides mycorrhizal fungi, plants interact with a miscellaneous group of non-mycorrhizal root associated fungi, so called fungal endophytes. Notwithstanding ubiquity and possible importance of root associated fungi, their interactions with host plants have not been hitherto satisfactorily studied. The present Master thesis contains three papers and is aimed on two interesting topics contributing to unveiling different roles of mycorrhizal symbioses in ecological significance of plants and their survival and fitness in specific environments: (i) to address the potential role of ectomycorrhizal fungi and Ericaceae plants in facilitating the invasion of Pinus strobus and (ii) to identify mycorrhizal and non-mycorrhizal fungi associated with endangered orchid and aquatic plants. We assessed diversity and communities' composition of mycorrhizal and non- mycorrhizal fungi using classical culture-dependent approaches as well as modern culture- independent techniques. Results from the first...
Possibilities of using leisure time by convicts while on duty in prison
KOHOUT, Petr
The work deals with the possibilities of using leisuer time in prison. Leisure time is filled with acitivities wich are based on treatment programs and are specific to imprisonment. Part of the work describes the areas wich are divided in individual specific acitivities in prison. Leisure time activities are drawn from work areas as well as educational, interest and hobby. The work is of theoretical character filled with conversations and interviews with every individual prisoner. The interviews do not serve as investigational reaserch, but tries to focus on quality of leisure time use by prisoners. From the conversations and interviews it seems that the Pilsen prisoners are satisfied with the offered acitivities they have in prison.
Classic theories as sources of natural law
KOHOUT, Petr
This thesis is engaged in the theme of natural law, especially in sources of natural law - in theories, which are labelled as "classic". The thesis focuses on these theories (Aristotle, stoicism, Thomas Aquinas) and their common points, which are proper to these theories. That is the object of this thesis. These points present the essence of natural law. The first part explains problem of the term "natural law". The second part deals with the classic theories. The third chapter summarises findings of the second part. The fourth part is devoted to the similarity between the classic theories and the modern (enlightenment) theories. This chapter is devoted to the connection between natural law and positive law too.
Transpozice Rozhodnutí rady 2003/33/EC do legislativní úpravy v ČR v části stanovení seznamu a limitů národních ukazatelů a zpracování prognózy zařazení odpadů do jednotlivých výluhových tříd a skupin
Ecochem‚ a. s., Praha ; Kohout, Petr

Application of methods of BCM into emergency planning
Cihlářová, Aneta ; Kopecký, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kohout, Petr (referee)
Enterprises during their operation are impacted many threats and risks that could dramatically affect their business. Business Continuity Management has evolved to provide resistance against the eternal operational risks. BCM aims to ensure business continuity in case of its danger. The goal of this thesis is to apply the selected methods of the BCM into emergency planning, which is regulated by legislatively for businesses in the Czech Republic.
