Insidious city. Educational aid for teachers to help them in prevention of undesirable social phenomena

Doctoral thesis "Insidious City - Educational aid for teachers to help them in prevention of undesirable social phenomena" sums up findings concerning prevention of adolescent risk behaviour. On the basis of long-term experience and research, the author has created a game called "Insidious City" and wrote a methodological guide for teachers who want to utilise the game in the classroom within evaluation of the prevention programme and identification of risk individuals in the class. The goal of this thesis is to create an aid for those schools which want to add complementary means to external providers' prevention programmes, or implement their own minimum-scope prevention programme. The thesis has six chapters. The first chapter describes the classification of primary prevention and forms of risk behaviour. In the second chapter, the author gives a summary of research and trends in the area of primary prevention, based on the literature and Internet information both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The third and fourth chapters go through the procedures of creating a prevention programme and implementing its evaluation. Specific problems of imprisoned women

Some Penitentiary Specifics of Imprisoned Women (Specification of sentenced women) This dissertation work describes two groups of incarcerated women: first long-term imprisoned women, second-imprisoned mothers with their children. The criminal behaviour of women differs from the male criminality. The most often penal behaviour are thefts, pick pocketing, illegal exploitation of employees, misabeling of goods, evading corporate taxes, suborning and in the last time different sorts of violent crimes like robberies, homicides etc tends to increase. Special kind of imprisoned women are offenders of impostures and organized crime (prostitution, trade with children and drugs). We also have a higher prison population than many other European countries. Each of these groups of sentenced women needs special sort of treatment and sometimes therapy or medical care. There are two female prisons in the ČR - in Opava and Světlá nad Sázavou. In Opava prison there are women sentenced to all four kinds of security including middle and high security type of prison. There is also the unit for drug depend inmates and the inmates with personality disorder. Homeless people and possibilities of remedy

The main aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to introduce the problem of homelessness, concept definition, blocking the causes and prevention of that social-pathological phenomenon, pointing out possibilities of remedy that our society offers and that homeless people may use, insight and comprehension of life of shelterless persons. The work is based on professional knowledge, work experience and causuistics. The work is written from position of a social worker from Healthcare and Social Services Department of the Municipal Office on the basis of professional experience with social work with homeless people according to the Act no. 111/2006 Col\., about remedy against material shortage, also according to the Act no. 10812006 Col\., about social services and Act no. 100/1988 Col\., about social safeguard. The Bachelor's thesis should become beneficial to practical resolution of aid to homeless people, brief and quick instruction for solving a concrete crisis situation. Educational - curative approaches to drug users with a focus on low - threshold programs

The purpose of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the drug addiction problems, specifically the educational-curative approaches to drug users with a focus on lowthreshold programs. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical basis and practical part. The theoretical part includes four chapters. In the first chapter we can find the definition of the drug addiction concept according to the International Classification of Diseases (MKN-10) and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV). The theoretical models of addiction and theoretical approaches used in assistance to drug users are described in this chapter as well. There is also focus on approaches used in psychotherapy of drug addictions. The second chapter gives an overview of the care system in the filed of drug addictions in the Czech Republic. Chapter number three summarizes the drug situation in the Czech Republic in 2007. The fourth part is devoted to low-threshold programs and focusing on approaches and methods of work of these programs. The last chapter is based on the practical research. It is aimed at clientele of low-threshold programs o.s. Sananim (contact centre and street programs), who are the drug users. Drug abuse problem in Cyprus

The following dissertation is concentrated on introducing the reader with a clear view of the contemporary situation of the drug abuse problem in the island of Cyprus. The theoretical part offers a synoptic aspect on the current status and level of the National strategy against addictive substances (cooperation on an international level, reduction of illegal addictive substances offering, programs used for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in every section of one's social life, therapy and working methods of state institutions). The second part of the dissertation is practical. Through the use of a list of questions, it aims to determine mainly what kind of drugs prevail in Cyprus, determine the approximate age of first drug use and reasons which lead to drug abuse with regard to social relationships and social status. In the epilogue are offered useful suggestions in the section of drug abuse prevention, according to the results of the filled lists of questions.

Primary prevention in schools for deaf children

My thesis will cover the topic of primary prevention in the field of drug abuse and the specifice of such prevention among children and young people with hearing impairment. I will compare preventive curricula of elementary schools for pupils with impaired hearing, I will try to research amount of imformation concerning drugs via questionnaires. The aim of my work is to map status quo of primary prevention in these schools, and possibly to point out solutions to current drawbacks.
