National-Cultural Comparison of Generations X and Y in the Czech Republic and Impact on Marketing Mix
Hebersteinová, Ilona ; Čejka, Pavel (advisor) ; Matoušek, David (referee)
The aim of this work is to provide a theoretical overview of research studies on cultural differences and their critical evaluation. The quantitative research on national and cultural comparison of generations X and Y in the Czech Republic will be implemented on the basis of a reduced questionnaire used in the research of European Values Survey in 2008. The data analysis will focus both on the current research and creating a time series of selected variables, using the results of previous research within European Values Survey. The starting point for comparing the behaviour of Generation X and Generation Y will be the national-cultural model of World Values Survey, and the results will be applied to marketing mix. The conclusion provides an overview and evaluation of the particular generations in terms of cultural performance as well as of marketing.
Mechanical activation of chemical reactions at interfaces of MDF composites
Matoušek, David ; Másilko, Jiří (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with study of mechnochemical activation of chemical reactions at interphase of MDF composites. MDF composites are high-perspective composite materials on polymer-cement base. They excel especially in terms of flexural strengths. High flexural stregth is caused by binding interactions between the polymer and the cement. This interactions arise due to mechanochemical activation of raw material mixture at the stage of production. This work focuses on the creation of artificial cement-polymer interphase by contacting the surfaces of two molded tablets (polyvinyl alcohol and monocalcium aluminate), activation of chemical reactions at interphase by means of specially designed appartus, which achieves good plane-parallelism of activation surfaces and good definability of activation conditions (shear rate, pressure). After experiments under different conditions, the activated surfaces are analyzed by SEM, EDS, XPS and FT-IR.
Asphalt mixtures with the use of higher amount of RAP
Mucha, Bohumír ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
At the beginning of the Master’s thesis the asphalt mixture of the type asphalt concrete and its basic properties are described. The main point of this work is to compare the functional properties of asphalt mixtures with the addition of higher amount of RAP and various rejuvenators used in the experimental section. From individual samples of asphalt mixtures taken during the laying, the control tests were carried out and the process of permanent deformation with the wheel tracking test was monitored. After that, using functional tests the properties of asphalt mixtures with conventional modified and unmodified asphalt bitumen enriched with the addition of declaring similar properties were compared.
Design of asphalt mixtures with the use of higher amount of RAP
Pavličík, Petr ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In the introduction of the Master’s thesis describes for obtaining and processing of reclaimed asphlalt. Major point of the thesis is design of asphalt mixtures with use of higher amount of RAP for asphalt binder course. Asphalt mixtures were designed with contents of 0%, 30%, 50% and 70% of RAP. On each asphalt mixtures were compared parameters set out by functional tests – resistence to permanent deformation and resistence to water.
Evulation of the Financial Situation in the Firm and Proposals to its Improvement
Matoušek, David ; Klíma, Jiří (referee) ; Zinecker, Marek (advisor)
This thesis evaluates the financial and economic situation of the company Železárny Štěpánov, spol s. r.o. It uses a prime financial analysis methods based on financial statements from the time period of 2004 –2007. Besides the theoretical and the analytic part contains suggestions and recomendations for an improvement of the company´s current position with regards to company opportunities and strategy of its future enterprise.
Development of methodology for study of mechanical activation of chemical reactions at phase boundaries
Matoušek, David ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with impact of mechanochemical activation on a nature of interphase region in macro-defect-free composites (MDF). MDF composites are highly perspective material on a polymer-cement basis. The most significant advantage of this material is high flexural strength (cca 150 MPa). High strength is caused by high-shear mixing of mixture of cement, polymer, water and plasticiser in twin-roll mill. High-shear stress leads to mechanical activation of reactions between cement and polymer and creation of weak or even strong interactions in interphase region. This work aimed on creation of interphase region by contact of surfaces of two moulded tablets – polyvinyl alcohol and monocalcium aluminate. Next step was construction of simple apparatus, able to define the rate of mechanical activation in interphase region. The most important part of this work concentrated on analysis of activated interphase region by XPS.
Design of asphalt concrete mixture and determinantion of water resistance
Renza, Jaroslav ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes and tests designs of asphalt mixtures of the type asphalt concrete according to the National Annex of the revised standards ČSN EN 13108-1 Asphalt concrete. Designs of mixture were followed by comparing of its resistance to water.
Design of asphalt concrete mixture and determinantion of the resistance against permanent deformation
Němec, Jan ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem regarding asphalt concrete mixtures, concretely ACO 11+. This type of mixture has low resistance to permanent deformation (rutting) while high temperatures are present. The binder and aggregate tests regarding physical and mechanical properties were carried out. Subsequently the new mixture was designed on the basis of stricter requirement for grading envelope and air void content. The design mixture was tested for resistance to permanent deformation. From the obtained results the change in the national annex of the standard ČSN EN 13108-1 is considered in terms of change in testing temperature for some kinds of binders. The same tests were conducted in others asphalt laboratories in the Czech Republic to ensure the maximum comparability.
The role of the foreign exchange rate regime in selected countries
Matoušek, David ; Durčáková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Šíma, Ondřej (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with consequences of choosing an exchange rate regime and if the exchange rate regime has an influence for development of economy. The first section describes types of exchange rate regimes and factors which influence the choice of the exchange rate regime. The second section characterizes the countries chosen from the viewpoint of observed variables (GDP, inflation, balance of current account). Third section contains analysis which is based on data provided from the Eurostat and the OECD. It has been proven that choice of an exchange rate regime does not always have underlying influence on economy in some countries.
Leadership Communication Role within International Business Organization
Křetínská, Tereza ; Čejka, Pavel (advisor) ; Matoušek, David (referee)
The thesis focuses on the role of leadership communication within a multinational business organization. It aims to confirm the critical importance of communication provided by leaders to their team members. The literature review will focus on the existing communication flows within organizations and the current research results and insights in the field of leadership communication, which is a new, emerging domain of study. Thanks to recent quantitative research (Men, 2014b), it has been already confirmed that leadership communication has a direct effect on employee-organization relationships and overall internal communication. However, qualitative research has been suggested for validation of how the discovered model works in concrete environments (Men, 2014b). Thus, the research section will reveal the findings of in-depth semi-structured interview analysis within a global internal IT services provider which is part of a Group enterprise operating in the logistics industry world-wide. The thesis will culminate in defining logical reasoning for adding communication skills to the company's core competencies for organizational managers and leaders.
