Batteries for medical applications

This master’s thesis deals with the influence of different carbon materials on the properties of Li-S accumulators. The theoretical part of the thesis describes primary and secondary electrochemical sources with a focus on medical applications. The second chapter deals individually with a lithium article. The main part of the thesis is the practical production of electrodes for Li-S accumulators using different types of carbon materials. The effects of these materials on the properties of accumulators are investigated to determine the most appropriate in terms of capacity and stability.

This diploma thesis is concerned with topic of lithium-ion batteries recycling. In this document the particular methods containing commercial used recycling processes or only laboratory used processes are discussed. Because rising amount of spent Li-ion accumulators is necessary find proper methods to recycle this type of accumulators. Also legislation question of this issue is important. In practical part is described procedure and results performed recycling method.

PharmDr. Radim Kučera, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The ionic liquids as the stationary phases in gas chromatography The thesis aims to evaluate ionic liquids as stationary phases in gas chromatography on the basis of available information. Di- and tricationic phosphonium liquids as well as dicationic imidazolium-based ionic liquids with bis(trifluormethylsulfonyl)imide cation (NTf2 - ) are used commercially in gas chromatography. With the introduction of polyethylene glycol connecting chain into dicationic ionic liquids their thermal stability and selectivity increases. Extremely polar trigonal tricationic ionic liquids are suitable for separation of very polar compounds. The polymerisation of ionic liquids in order to increase their maximum temperatures, within which they are usable in gas chromatography, seems promising. Furthermore, the thesis compares commercially available ionic liquids with conventional polysiloxanes and polyethylenglene glycol stationary phases in the course of separation of various analytes. Development of Test Batteries for Diagnostics of Motor Laterality Manifestation - Link between Cerebellar Dominance and Hand Performance

The aim of this study is to contribute to the standardization of the new diagnostic tools assessing the motor manifestations of laterality in adults and children aged 8 to 10 years, both in terms of determining the theoretical concept and the selection of appropriate items, and the verification of structural hypotheses concerning the design of acceptable models, including the diagnostic quality of individual parts of the test battery. Moreover in this study we try to suggest new approach in assessing of motor laterality manifestation by means of relationship between cerebellar dominance and hand performance. The first part of this thesis deals with the concept of laterality, its manifestations and meaning in non-living systems and living organisms. As a human characteristic, laterality is manifested in a variety of functional and structural asymmetries. This part also discusses ways of diagnosing motor manifestations of laterality and the issue of cerebellar dominance, including its reflection in the form of asymmetry of the extinction physiological syndrome of upper limbs. Effect of the pressure used in the manufacture of the electrodes on their final properties

The aim of this work is to describe final properties of the electrodes based on the amount of pressure used during its production. In the theoretical part of this work, secondary electrochemical accumulators are described, with the focus on Li-ion accumulators. In the main part of this work, the production of Li-ion accumulators, with usage of different pressures during its production is described. In the final part of this work, the examination of these created cells for the classification of the optimal production pressure is described.
Economic impacts of the economic results of selected company

The main objective of this thesis economic impacts of the economic results of selected company is an assessment of the economic performance of the company TESAS TOP s.r.o., with application of some methods of economic analysis. The first part is devoted to theoretical issues of explaining the basic concepts, used methods and procedures. Selected methods of economic analysis are applied in the practical part. Most of practical part is devoted to financial indicators. To calculate the forecast for future economic activities was used statistical program. Based on the results of this analysis, economic activities are evaluated and measures to improve economic performance are propounded.

Effect of compaction pressure to the electrochemical properties of the electrodes for Li-S accumulators

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe the impact of compaction pressure on the electrochemical parameters of lithium-sulfur batteries. Theoretical part of this thesis contains briefly described terminology and general issues of batteries and their division. Every kind of battery is provided with a closer description of a specific battery type. A separate chapter is dedicated to lithium cells, mainly lithium-ion batteries. Considering various composition of lithium-ion batteries, this chapter deeply analyzes mostly used active materials of electrodes, used electrolytes and separators. Considering that the electrochemical principle of Li-S and Li-O batteries is different to Li-ion batteries, these accumulators of new generation are included in individual subhead. In the experimental part of this thesis are described methods used to measure electrochemical parameters of Li-S batteries. Next chapter contains description of preparing individual electrodes and their composition. Rest of the experimental part of my thesis is dedicated to the description of individual experiments and achieved results.
Study of the properties of the advanced materials for the cathodes of the lithium-ion accumulators

This thesis in its first part deals especially with characteristic of lithium ion accumulators in terms of their structure, electrochemical properties and also features of the most commonly used cathode materials. Especial attention is given to the high-voltage cathode material LiNi0,5Mn1,5O4 which cell voltage is close to 5V. The second practical part deals with the preparation of cathode materials based on LiNi0,5Mn1,5O4 with different temperatures in the second stage of annealing and analyzing them in terms of structure and electrochemical properties using appropriate measuring methods.
Study of the properties of the advanced cathode materials for lithium-ion cells

Tato práce se zabývá studiem akumulátorů, zejména lithium-iontových, principy jejich funkce a zejména studiem katodových materiálů pro lithium-iontové akumulátory. Tyto materiály by měly umožnit vývoj akumulátorů se značně vyšším jmenovitým napětím. Cílem práce je seznámení se s problematikou a shrnutí dosavadního vývoje na poli vysokonapěťových lithiových akumulátorů.
