Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is very rare disease (estimated incidence is one case for one million people per year), which nature is uncontrollable reproduction of infectious prion protein in brain tissue. In some cases, the disease might have long incubation time but then very fast progression and in all cases, it ends with death. Nowadays we do not know curative treatment and the patient depends only on palliative treatment. The main goal of my Thesis is to describe a nursing care of a patient with this disease and to emphasize the importance of the palliative care. Partial goal is to describe disease progression (clinical condition of the patient) from the admission to the hospice until the end of her life (total of 27 days) and to increase knowledge about this disease among the medical staff. I also set a goal to find out specifics of care of patients with this disease. The Thesis is written as case report of a specific patient with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The methodology for case report is detailed study of patient's medical documentation in the hospice and cooperation with nursing staff and doctors. Based on the case report I can state that palliative care does not differ a lot for varied diseases of patients, however for patients with CJD the specific is the preventive use of...

Bobitko, Julia ; Jeřábková, Lenka (advisor) ; Kulhavá, Miluše (referee)
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is one of the most common rheumatic diseases that affects children less than 16 years of age. The illness is considered irrecoverable because of its unclear aetiology. My work is focused on nursing care of a child with juvenile idiopathic arthritis due to the very low awarness of this disease. The main objective was to describe the nursing care of a child with a given disease and to increase awareness of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Another objective was to create information material for the public about the illness. I choose a case study method to meet these goals. I described the nursing process of the patient with the disease in the practical part of the bachelor thesis, supplemented by Mary Henderson model. Information was drew mainly from medical records, interviews with parents, medical staff, and by providing nursing care to the chosen patient. The specifics of nursing care of a child with juvenile idiopathic arthritis were described on the basis of the information and knowledge gained during the hospitalization of the patient. These informations were used also for creation the information material for the general public. keywords: juvenile idiopathic arthritis, nursing care, rheumatology, paediatrics nursing, arthritis

Jeřábková, Lenka ; Švátora, Miroslav (advisor) ; Rehák, Ivan (referee)
8 ABSTRACT In the north-east part of the Třebíč district 108 water sites were repeatedly monitored to analyze breeding of amphibians where its 11 species were proven by this research. Bombina bombina, Bufo bufo, Bufo viridis, Hyla arborea, Pelobates fuscus were proven in line with previous studies. However, species Triturus cristatus, Triturus vulgaris, Rana temporaria, Rana dalmatina, Rana esculenta synklepton were monitored in the region for the first time ever. Distinctly high values of the species presence were reached by BufBuf (60,2 %), RanEscSyn (78,7 %) and HylArb (48,1 %). In contrast, species TriCri, TriVul, BufVir, RanArv, RanDal were found in the region with low frequency. There were found positive correlations in the proportion of littoral, natant and submerse vegetation and in the transparency of the water column and in contrast negative correlations were found in the extent of urban areas and with the number of amphibians breeding in the water site. The Redundancy analysis (RDA) helped to discover statistically significant influence of the environmental variables (proportion of littoral vegetation, transparency, water site total surface and lastly number of other water sites within the range of 500 metres) on the presence of amphibians on the water sites. Consequently, "ideal breeding sites"...

Macinauerová, Katarína ; Prošková, Eva (advisor) ; Lukášová Jeřábková, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with comparison of auxiliary nursing professions in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. After the split of Czechoslovakia in 1993, there were a number of changes in health legislation. This work provides a comprehensive view of the development and current situation of health care assistants, auxiliary nurses, nurses and health care workers. The objectives of this work were to compare the development of individual professions, the concept of education, the possibilities of lifelong learning and professional association. The aim of the work was also to describe the actual performances, performed by auxiliary nursing staff and the legal requirements for the competencies of these professions. Through the form of a questionnaire survey, a survey was carried out between the auxiliary nursing staff in both countries, which showed that there was a significant overrun of competencies in both Slovak and Czech respondents. The provision of high-quality nursing care is currently highlighted. An important factor in providing quality and safe care is the proper division of tasks between nursing team members and the pursuit of a profession in accordance with legally defined competencies. keywords: Regulation of profession, health-care profession, nursing, health-care assistent, auxiliary...

This thesis deals with methods used for childhood obese patient education. It is further devoted to the creation of new educational resource to help fight the childhood obesity. This educational material has been prepared on a similar basis as the educational material for diabetic patients called Conversation maps TM. The theoretical part is dedicated to three main topics. First of all it analyzes risk factors influencing progression of the child obesity, prevention and treatment of this disease. Secondly, the theme of education is further elaborated. Finally, the third main topic is focused specifically on education in childhood obesitology and educational materials dealing with this issue. Quality of childhood obesity prevention and its specific impact on children aged 11-15 years is assessed in practical part. This part was realized using quantitative research, where I used an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire (which contained 14 questions) to gather the necessary data. The aim of the questionnaire was to find two facts. First, I was wondering where the children got accurate information about a healthy lifestyle. This finding has influenced the formation of educational material. Second, I was wondering what the real dietary habits of children aged 11-15 years are. The survey shows that...

The partial goals of this research were to find out the dietary conditions of nurses working two shifts, to determine whether if there is any increase / decrease in body weight (more than five kilograms) from taking up the present job, if sisters in two shifts eat regularly five recommended doses. Then to determine how many nurses from the research sample suffer from digestive and dyspeptic difficulties and to find out if they drink recommended amount of fluids during their work. The practical part deals with analyzing and evaluating the results of quantitative research obtained on the basis of a questionnaire survey among general nurses from the department of geriatrics, follow-up care and hospice. Responders, who I have chosen, come from both state departments of health facilities and the private sector. The main aim of the thesis was to find out what is used in long-term care, for subsequent care departments and the Department of Geriatrics methods of activation in patients with immobilization syndrome. Individual objectives were to find out what...
Knowlege the public about the issue previously expressed wishes
Šandová, Petra ; Prošková, Eva (advisor) ; Lukášová Jeřábková, Lenka (referee)
The patient's autonomy is very important part of medical and nursing practice and every patient should have a right to express their opinion about their treatment. Advance directives give person an opportunity to express even in situations when it is not possible to communicate with others. Although it is possible to write advance directives in the Czech Republic only negligible percentage of people take advantage of this possibility. Why is it so? I have set two goals in my thesis. My first goal is to determine the awareness of the general public about the advance directives in the Czech Republic and also I want to find out awareness about the possibility to appoint a guardian as a mediator of fulfilment of advance directives of an individual. It is also my goal to discover whether respondents would welcome greater awareness of this topic. My second objective is to determine the attitudes of respondents to the problematics of advance directives. I want to discover if the respondents have ever dealt with the idea of being in a situation which they could not communicate with their environment and if they would like to have an opinion to decide about their treatment and also if they would like to name their mediator. I would like to provide the results of my thesis to the department of quality...
