Front Wing for Formula Student
Vrubel, Vít ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This work deals with the verification of the design of the front wing on the Formula Student car. The work is divided into three parts. In the first, a search of the wings used in the Formula Student competition is performed. The second part is devoted to the experiment and the last part is devoted to CFD calculations and comparisons with measured values. Computations were done on computational resources supplied by the project „e-Infrastruktura CZ“ (e-INFRA LM2018140) provided within the program Projects of Large Research, Development and Innovations Infrastructures. Computational resources were provided by the ELIXIR-CZ project (LM2015047), part of the international ELIXIR infrastructure.
Composite Chassis for Formula Student
Mende, Milan ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The Master’s thesis deals with the design and production of a composite chassis of the new formula Dragon X. The carbon prepreg used for manufacturing of the monocoque was to be operated at high temperatures. Therefore, this thesis deals with the application of composites structures in the high temperature environment. The thesis addresses the torsional stiffness problematics and it was not only physically tested, but also simulated by FEM analysis and the results were compared.
Engines of MotoGP motorcycles
Pacut, Patrik ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is a description of engine concepts which are used in racing motorcycles. The attention is aimed on racing motorcycles in MotoGP class. The thesis describes their development, technical parameters and construction solutions.
CI-engines Fuel Systems
Duda, Martin ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about fuel systems, especially is focused on the injection system Common rail. The most usable injection system at this time, which is almost twenty ye-ars at the market and during the time system is getting better and more inovative. In addition to description of main parts of the system, are at this thesis included inovations of last five years and reflection of future.
Range Extender Engines for Electric Cars
Kroupa, Jiří ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about range extender engines for electric cars with focusing primarily on piston combustion engines. In the first part, reasons for using range extender are indicated and the principle of use in powertrain of electric vehicle is explained. Requirements for a combustion engine working as range extender are stated with their impact on development parameters of this engine. The second part describes manufacturers with their range extenders. Three engines are described in detail with emphasis on development, technical parameters and operating strategy. Another range extenders with their basic parameters are mentioned too. Conclusion refers about benefits of using range extenders and their future development is estimated.
Formula Student Wheel Design Using Composite Materials
Jelínek, Josef ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis represents a step for performance improvement of a Formula Student race car monopost of TU Brno Racing team at Brno University of Technology. A detailed research focused on light automotive wheels and suitable materials is only a beginning of this work. Its main part is choosing a light weight wheel concept, creation of a new wheel design and its simulations by finite element method. A deep analysis of vehicle dynamics aims to find the most accurate input data for the simulations. The development of a new wheel is intended to cooperate with the latest monopost generation, Dragon 7. The best choice including the desired material properties is made to use composite materials. A new CAD wheel model had been created. It was recreated into a simulation model and analysed afterwards. The analysis output data are compared to some of the best alternatives among the market and the results confirm this project has a great potential. Therefore the next procedure is projected.
Variable Valvetrain Systems
Věříš, Michal ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the variable valve actuation systems and their influence mainly on spark-ignition engines. Describes the principle of their function, comparison of each other, brief history and a view to future developments. Part of the work is also a simulation of VTEC-E.
Design of Formula Student Car Wheel Carriers
Chlud, Martin ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
Master’s thesis focused on design and construction of front uprights for Formula Student racing car. Topology optimization and FEM analysis will be used to design the uprights with higher stiffness and minimal weight difference compared to the last model. In the FEM analysis loads will be applied from wheel side and from suspension side. Design of the upright then will be compared to the previous designs especially to safety factor, weight and cost.
Formula Student Composite Battery Pack
Hagara, Matej ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The main goal of the presented thesis is the design and solution to a riddle of a constructive design of a „battery pack“ (battery container) and its installation into the student formula Dragon eD2. The introduction part of the thesis describes the basic FSAE rules, with a focus on the design of the above-mentioned component regarding the pilot’s safety. The main aim of the theoretical part is to introduce the essential and convectional typology and manufacturing processes of composite material’s production, while special attention is given to prepreg technology. The knowledge that was derived from the first part was used to perform a set of mechanical tests and analytical computations. Based on gathered data and information the following simulations were adjusted with intention of maintaining simplicity and efficiency. The emphasis is places on easy and maintainable design, good structural strength, and low weight. The final part of the thesis offers the conclusion based on the obtained results and presents theoretically optimal design in terms of production and installation for low-cost production in small series.
Technology of Selective Catalytic Reduction for Passenger Cars
Jurík, Juraj ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes the selective catalytic reduction technology. It concerned of reducing nitrogen oxides in diesel engines. It describes components of the technology, their function and location in system. in first chapter there are described harmful substances of exhaust gas in connection with this technology. Second chapter contains description of emission standards. Next chapters are describing selective catalytic reduction and solutions of some manufacturers.
