Self-assembly and excited energy transfer in bacteriochlorophyll aggregates
Pospíšil, Petr ; Pšenčík, Jakub (advisor) ; Vácha, František (referee)
Bacteriochlorophyll c (BChl c) belongs among photosynthetic pigments. It is found in lightharvesting complexes of green photosynthetic bacteria in the form of self-assembled aggregates. It is possible to prepare BChl c aggregates also in vitro in aqueous solutions, in the presence of certain non-polar molecules (e.g. lipids or carotenoids). In this work, artificial light-harvesting antenna was prepared composed of BChl c and selected azulene derivative. The aggregation of BChl c with azulene enhances the absorption in the near UV region compared to BChl c. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to study an efficiency of energy transfer from azulene to BChl c. The procedure used was based on fluorencence excitation spectra measurement, and a comparison with absorption 1-T spectra. The measurements were complicated by anomalous fluorencence of azulene, which occurs from the S2 state. Furthermore, the reference diode in the fluorescence spectrometer did not correct properly the signal in the near UV region, where azulene absorbs. The problem was partially solved by preparing the new correction files using selected laser dyes. Excitation spectra demonstrate the presence of the energy transfer from azulene to BChl c, however, it was not yet possible to satisfactorily quantify its efficiency.
Color-to-Grayscale Conversions
Pospíšil, Petr ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Čadík, Martin (advisor)
Grayscale pictures were never replaced by color ones and will probably never be, because they are indispensable in many areas. In this thesis was chosen three methods for color-to-gray conversion. These methods was implemented afterwards. Within this thesis was also made test set of 24 HDR pictures, which was together with existing set of 24 LDR pictures used to test and evaluate features of implemented methods. These methods were also compared from the point of accurancy and preference using questionnaire.
Image sensors in use
Pospíšil, Petr ; MYSLÍK, Jiří (advisor) ; ŠEC, Martin (referee)
Summary and description of particular types of digital image sensors, their characteristics and application of this knowledge in cinematographer`s job.
Design and Optimization of the Trading Strategy in Financial Markets
Pospíšil, Petr ; Slatinský, Miroslav (referee) ; Budík, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the design and optimization of a trading strategy on Foreign Exchange – particularly on EURUSD currency pair. The strategy makes use of standard indicators used in technical analysis and is consequently optimized and backtested using history data. The thesis addresses both the development of such a strategy and the main pitfalls, ones with which I have came in contact with and had to solve, are discussed.
Fly over Rugged Planet
Pospíšil, Petr ; Chudý, Peter (referee) ; Jošth, Radovan (advisor)
This thesis deals with a 3D visualization of the Earth´s surface in real time. A significant part is dedicated to the buffering of the large amount of data (a height map and textures of Earth) and its effective reading from hard disk directly to the memory of a graphic card. Individual levels of detail of the Earth´s surface are made by GeoMipMapping. The algorithms "horizon" and "frustum culling" are used, which cut off the hidden parts of the planet. The application of the height data is based on a custom algorithm calculating the data directly in the graphic card, in assistance with its vertex and geometry shaders.
Library for Efficient Video Capture in 3D Application
Pospíšil, Petr ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Havel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with library for recording video in the background of 3D application. A library is designed to work under the Microsoft Windows and Linux operation systems.  It records image and also sound. Image recording is supported in OpenGL, Direct3D9, Direct3D10 and Direct3D11. To reduce video data size, library supports image compression using MJPG codec. Audio is recorded by WaveForm audio, Windows Core Audio or ALSA. Recorded sound is for whole operation system. A library is able to record up to two audio streams to accommodate possible microphone input. It can mix audio data together if needed. Output data are then written into AVI file. It is possible to write own text information as overlay that is rendered as part of application screen output.
