The Transfer of a Literary Text into Radio Drama

This work describes the transformation of a literary work Válka s mloky through a form of radio drama script to the final form of this dramatic radio form. This work focuses on specific resources, which have the radio dramaturge and the director for their work with literature and also this work want to characterize the new quality that this work gets. This work also situates this radio play to the historic context of radio creation and also to context of the society in the Czechoslovakia.

Facing the loss: Loss figures in the postwar central european literature

My paper will focus upon the theme of loss in postwar Central European literature in works of Nabokov, Bachmann, Bernhard, Handke, Esterhazy, and Chwin, which are narrated as a modern subject's testimony of loss. My goal is to make a collection of loss figures (inspired by Roland Barthes's Fragments of a Lover's Discourse) to examine the nature of testimony in relation to the acts of writing. Any analytical inquiry that focuses itself on the literary testimony as a work of art will have to deal with these textual mechanisms: transparency, suppression, deleting, distancing, turning over, heaviness and reduction.

The "Phenomenom" of Czech Serialized TV Tale Genre "Večerníček"

The diploma thesis deals with the Czech cultural phenomenon Vecernicek. Three interpretative sections of the thesis show the possibility to place Vecernicek among modern fairytales as well as they prove its continuity to the traditional fairytale output. At the same time, the thesis draws on distictions between traditional and modernized poetics. Choice series are interpreted with respect to intermediality and specific form of Vecernicek as a TV programme designed for pre-school and and primary-school children. .

The Poetics of Space in Ota Filip's Novels

This thesis is focused on poetics of places and space in the novels of Czech author Ota Filip (*1930). The analysis of individual spaces displayed in Filip's work wants to demonstrate the importance of these places for the narrative construction of the autor's novels. This thesis aims to show the importance of displayed space and individual spaces for the overall sense of the fictional world in the Filip's work. The methodological basis of the thesis is the study of the Polisch scientist Janusz Sławiński: Space in Literature: Basic Division and Introductory Commonplace (2002 [1978]). Research of space displayed in the literary work based on the text of a particular novel.

A green canon? What, how and why "the colourful and the green" read.

The thesis is based on questionnaire survey conducted among 136 so called "green and colourful" respondents. The term "the colourful and the green" comes from the professor of environmental sociology, Hana Librová, and refers to people living the ecologically beneficial lifestyle that can be characterized by voluntary or intentional modesty. The target of the survey was to find out whether these people are influenced in their lifestyle by books or which books would articulate their worldview the best; what books they resonate with. Often repeated titles formed a "green influential literary canon" that is further analyzed in the thesis. First, the canon as a whole is examined, second the three most frequent books are studied with an ecocritical approach. In the canon, a minimum titles from the field of deep ecology, nature writing as well as science fiction or utopia were registered. Despite the expectation, there were many books related to New Age movement in the canon as well as pop-cultural spiritual writings. Nevertheless, books concerning native americans, together with eco- philosophical works largely dominated. Fictional Worlds Theories. An Analysis and Interpretation of the Recent Development of the Theories of Fictional Worlds.

The thesis analyzes the possibilities of application of the fictional worlds theory as a possible basis for a different literary-theoretical approach to the study of literary texts. Not being a mere literature research, the thesis inquires into issues which are necessarily connected with the fictional worlds theory and which have been so far rarely dealt with, if discussed at all. It contributes to the discussion on advantages and drawbacks of the mimetic approach and of the fiction theory, it analyzes the possible applicability of the fictional worlds theory in literary history, it attempts to determine the correlation between the Seymour Chatman's textual types and the fiction theory nomenclature, and last but not least the thesis deals with the possibilities of this theory in the fictional worlds of lyrical poetry. The beginnings of intertextuality - breaking the boundaries of the boundlessness

1 Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of intertextuality as the change of view of text and opening his imaginary boundaries, especially in the context of establishing this concept. The first part describes Bakhtin's concept of the polyphony and the dialogism understood as the initial impulse from which intertextuality subsequently develops. The second part deals with the development of intertextuality by Julia Kristeva and its subsequent extension to society-wide cultural space. Third part is an overview of subsequently established conceptions. Based on the foregoing the idea of text which appears as a central and crucial for intertextuality itself is then in the final section revised in relation to particular conceptions of intertextuality. Fanfiction and Intertextuality

Summary: The aim of this thesis was to classify the intertextual relationship entered by fan fictions. A fan fiction is a modern literary form, which developed mainly in the second half of the 20th century and has been experiencing real boom since the beginning of the Internet era. Intertextuality is a basic condition for the existence of fan fictions, as these are derivatives of other texts (usually certain popular culture products). Fan fiction is created in fandom as a product of fan activity. These texts are unauthorized, they don't bring profit to their creators and can have a subversive character. Besides the basic intertextual relation to canon, fan fictions enter into a variety of other intertextual relationships. Among these are relationships to the cultural canon similar to those formed by traditional literature. Fan fiction borrows motives and plotlines from fairytales, myths, the Bible, poetry and songs, fiction and movies. On the other hand, fan fiction also enters into such intertextual relationships that are specific for this literary genre. These are so-called crossovers - mixing of several fictional worlds, and relationships to other works of fan fiction - parodies, continuing other authors' stories, replies to so-called challenges and prompts (ideas for stories).

The purpose of this bachelor essay is to offer quite complete view to poetry of so-called normalization period, which was in Czechoslovakia published 1970-1977. It is viewed through the reflexion of poetry in the contemporary press (Literární m sí ník, Rudé právo, Tvorba). Theoretically is the essay based on the field theory from P. Bourdieu and it attempts to describe the literary criticism of 70's and its role in the literary life. The bachelor essay contains information about 70's cultural and political situation, which influenced the poets and critics.

The Prose Fiction of Miloš Urban within the Frame of Key Narrative Categories

(in English): The bachelor's diploma thesis deals with the prose fiction of Miloš Urban and aims at a complex interpretation of his work with the help of the key narratives categories. The text of the thesis is based on textual analysis and application of established narrative concepts and categories. Therefore, it covers the categories of the plot, protagonists, space, time and the narrator; each category is first specified in its general terms and then applied to the analysis of specific texts.
