Conservative treatment options of diastasis musculi recti abdominis
Kunzová, Karolina ; Doubková, Lucie (advisor) ; Šafářová, Marcela (referee)
This work deals with diastasis of rectus abdominal muscle. The aim was to compare the effect of two conservative procedures for closing the abdominal wall defect. There were twelve women divided into two groups who were educated to exercise daily for half a year. The first group practiced dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS) according to Kolář. The second group analytically strengthened the rectus abdominis muscle with manual correction of the abdominal wall. Both groups achieved a significant (p <0.05) reduction in maximum width and total area defined by the edge of the rectus abdominis muscle. Total length of diastasis was significantly reduced only within the first group of women. Both approaches have influence on the closing of diastasis. All patients in the first group reported a significant relief from back pain after a six-month exercise and three out of the four experienced adjustment of incontinence at the same time. Back pain persisted in the second group and incontinence resolved at two out of the three women.
The effect of the Feldenkrais method on body schema
Bestová, Zuzana ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Doubková, Lucie (referee)
Bibliografic identification BESTOVÁ, Zuzana. The effect of The Feldenkrais method on body schema. Prague: Charles University in Prague, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of rehabilitation and exercise medicine, 2012. 96 pages. Supervisor Mgr. Magdaléna Lepšíková. Abstract The diploma thesis deals with neurophysiological concept of body schema and evaluation of the effect of the Feldenkrais method (FM) on its quality. The research comprises two groups of probands without motor system disorders. The participants passed an investigation of the body schema quality by the following tests: a test of estimation of body dimensions (width of mouth, width of shoulders, width of hips and length of foot), a modification of Petrie's test, a test of proprioception and a test of graphestesia. The examination was accomplished before FM investigation and after the course. The first group (group A) comprised 13 individuals (5 males, 8 females) who participated in a semestral course of FM, the second group of probands (group B) included 17 individuals (3 males, 14 females) underwent a two days long FM program. A significant improvement (p = 0,0027) in the estimation of the length of foot was detected after FM intervention in group B. There was not a significant improvement in any of estimated body dimensions in group A....
Common causes of lower leg pain an Athletes
Pešková, Lucie ; Doubková, Lucie (advisor) ; Truc, Michal (referee)
An exercise-induced leg pain resulting from chronic overloading is a common condition affecting physically active population. This bachelor thesis gives an overview of recent knowledge in differential diagnosis of a chronic lower leg pain. Theoretic aspects deal with three main conditions with the highest incidence, including stress fractures, medial tibial stress syndrome and chronic exertional compartment syndrome. Particular chapters describe the difference in the epidemiology, aetiology, clinical presentation and risk factors. The diagnostic methods and treatment options are mentioned in the next chapter. In addition to theoretic aspects a retrospective study is part of this thesis. The research study the incidence of the lower leg pain among athletes. In contrast to theoretic part we concern about nonspecific lower leg pain in this research. At the same time we research a presence of risk factors and their effect on pathogenesis of the lower leg pain.
Subjective perception of during predominantly concentric and predominantly eccentric excercise
Opálková, Michaela ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Doubková, Lucie (referee)
This thesis pursues the function of human skeletal muscle. It describes the sarcomere and current theories of the muscle contraction. In addition to conventional sliding sarcomere theory the new large - scale model is included. It is called rotational theory and it works on the basis of rotating helical molecules which are functionally coupled. Muscle reaction to stretching in dependence on the stretch length and velocity are folded in. The chapter Neural Commands is not comprehensive. Its purpose is to review the differences between neural control of concentric and eccentric contraction, respectively. Following parts summarize the integration of eccentric contraction into human movement, instantaneous reactions and adaptation processes. The last theoretical part deals with subjective perception of stress during predominantly concentric and predominantly eccentric exercise. The applied part consists of the outcomes of measurement of peak and averaged heart rate before and after bouts of running with predominantly concentric (uphill running) and predominantly eccentric (downhill running) exercise. Subjective rate of physical and psychical condition were registered at identical situation using visual analogue scale. Twelve high school students were measured. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Photodegradation of hydrocortisone in homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalytic reaction
DOUBKOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this thesis was to measure the kinetics of photochemical degradation of hydrocortisone in heterogeneous photocatalytic reaction on immobilized TiO2 and in homogeneous photocatalytic reaction with Fe(III) using UV-VIS and HPLC for measuring the degradation kinetics.
Thermal analysis of electrolyte gel for preparation of lithium-ion batteries
DOUBKOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this thesis is to define gel electrolyte material and describe its suitable composition and properties. This work further involves instrumentation and methods of thermal analysis and their use in characterization of gel electrolytes.
