Is Jiří Dvořák More Employable than Demeter Lakatoš?

Thesis presents experimental evidence for statistical discrimination on Czech labour market. The first research is based on sending false curriculums vitae with both typically Romany and typically Czech names. It has been written to 256 work announcements and more than 60 % answers were received. The discrimination of Romany people has been proved in more than a half of the cases. The second research, in the form of a questionnaire, was targeted on employers and people who offer jobs. More than 95 % of respondents think that Romany nationality plays an important role for an applicant. Almost two thirds are convinced of discrimination on the Czech labour market and 11% confessed themselves to discrimination. Research also elaborates the causes of the discrimination. The respondents see the reasons in insufficient education of Romany people, their lack of persistence when looking for a job and statistical discrimination of Romany minority.

Growth and conditon monitoring of carp fingerling (Cyprinus carpio)

The literature review of this work are given feed used in aquaculture ponds for carp fingerling and comparison of their chemical composition. Then there is the focus on feeding experiments with fingerling in cages in Trebon, which were conducted during the summer. In the results are the values of growth and condition indicator, which are presented during the monitoring and at the end of the experiment. This work includes evaluation of the success of the test feed and propose of their possible uses in breeding carp fingerling in fishing practice.

The mutual information is useful measure of a random vector component dependence. It is important in many technical applications. The estimation methods are often based on the well known relation between the mutual information and the appropriate entropies. In 1999 Darbellay and Vajda proposed a direct estimation methods. In this paper we compare some available estimation methods using different 2-D random distributions.

Utilization of XML databases for retrieval of data-mining specifications

The aim of this work is to create a querying system in analytical reports stored as PMML documents. These PMML documents are stored in native XML database, because these documents are structured as XML documents. Selected XML database is available for free and its resources and means meet the proposed solution. Also searching algorithm is created to search these documents by means of XQuery language. Inasmuch as searched data have the character of the XML data the use of language for querying XML data suggests. In terms of the use of the XQuery language structure of PMML document was explored and data links in these documents was used to ensure proper search results. Results of the search are association rules from these analytical reports stored in PMML documents, requests of the search are attributes to be in the rules, their values and other limits of the search. So that the whole system is complete and could be fully used, it is necessary to create a communication environment through which the work with stored data is performed. For this purpose, Java and REST(ful) architecture for creating applications are used.
