Activities of a registered nurse at intensive care unit

This bachelor thesis is focused on the nurse's activities by the bedside at the intensive care unit, which she performs during the afternoon hours. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters and deals mainly with the importance of intensive care unit, education of nurses working in this field and their job description. In addition, this section describes the KAR FNKV workplace and the work organization specifically at the Resuscitation Department II where the research was conducted. In the empirical part I devoted to the analysis of the activities that the nurse performs on the ICU. Apart from the list of these activities and their detailed description, the thesis deals with their time demands. In a separate chapter, the research method of observation is defined, and the importance of nursing psychohygiene and ways in which it can be performed are emphasized. The study shows that most of the time it takes nurses to communicate with each other, with a doctor, other health care workers, with a family, or with patient when his condition allows it. Another time consuming interventions was monitoring of the patient and medication.
Activities of a general nurse at the critical care department

The bachelor thesis deals with the activities of a general nurse at the critical care department with the aim to find out whether it would be possible to perform patient hygiene in a different time period than during a morning shift. The theoretical part is divided into five chapters where the term resuscitation care is explained, nurses education, nurses activities in the intensive care department and work organization are described. The last chapter describes the effect of night shifts on nurses' health. The research work was a combination of quantitative and qualitative methodology using an ethnographic approach, where I was part of a medical team for five working days. I conducted the research in the period from 17:00 to 22:00. Key words: resuscitation care, patient hygiene, nurse activities
Mobility of elderly people during their hospitalization

The main aim of the thesis is to conduct the survey of mobility of the elderly people during their hospitalization. The partial aim focues on activities the hospitalized seniors could devote when laying in a bed and being outside the bed. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part provides the insight into the process of aging itself, the hospitalization and the mobility of the elderly people. The practical part decsribes the qualitative research and the evaluation of the datas gained, both in the specific hospital department. The research made by the author of the thesis in the specific hospital department just confirmed author's assumptions of the mobility deficiency among the hospitalized seniors and also confirmed the lack of motivation for moving in this group of patients. The thesis also encourages to dedicate more and to care more about the issue of mobility of the hospitalized elderly people.
Cooperation of a practical nurse and a nursing assistent during providing nursing care at long term care facility

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřená na spolupráci praktické sestry a sanitáře při ošetřovatelské péče na oddělení dlouhodobé péče. První část pojednává o obecných tématem jako je například charakteristika oddělení. Patří tam například kapitola shrnující vybrané diagnózy spojené s otázky spojené se sebepéči. Druhá část je výzkumná část. Zaměřuje se na konkrétní oddělení - založení do současnosti. Informace o oddělení zahrnující personální obsazení, materiální a technickou je organizaci oddělení včetně systému předávání služeb a přidělování pacientů. V neposlední řadě se zaměřuje spolupráci a zkoumá komunikaci v hygiena, výživa, vyprazdňování a mobilita.
Role of a nurse in general anestesia

The bachelor thesis deals with the investigation of the activities of nurse anesthetist in general anesthesia. The theoretical part is divide into several chapters and focused mainly on specialized education for nurse anesthetist, nursing activities in general anesthesia and safety in general anesthesia. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on the identification and description of the main areas of nurse anesthetist activities during the operating program. In discussion there are determininations of time consuming of individual perfomances and activities performed by the nurse anesthetist. The results of qualitative research show that the nurse anesthetist performs most of the preparatory activities and the clinical activities of nurse anesthetist are not less important when administering general anesthesia. The extent of the missed care in the Central Military Hospital - the University Military Hospital Prague

This bachelor thesis deals with the concept of missing care. In the theoretical part there is mentioned how the nursing profession has progressively developed and how this development is related to the development of missing care. There is also mentioned the nursing model of Virginia Henderson in which basic nursing care is defined and the difference between active and passive care explained. The main theme of the theoretical part is an analysis of the concept of missing care. Furthermore, there is an example of an extreme in missing care and there are methods describing how we evaluate the quality and the degree of care provided in the Czech Republic. The research part of this work focuses on the quantity of nursing care provided to patients at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. The work tries to determine the amount of missing care in standard departments of internal and surgical type and also to define its reasons. The research focused on the opinion of nurses and nursing assistants/practical nurses working at these types of departments. The results of the research show a high level of the Central Military Hospital - the Military University Hospital Prague in the degree of provided care.
