The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on stroke, walking in general, characteristics of hemiparetic gait, standardization and standardized tests. The practical part provides the comparison of standardized gait evaluation tests for post-stroke patients from the viewpoint of essential characteristics and qualitative point of view. This part also contains case reports of two patients, in which the gait was evaluated using the selected standardized tests (10 Meter Walk Test, 2 Minute Walk Test, Timed Up and Go, Dynamic Gait Index) and one non-standardized test (Emory Functional Ambulation Profile). These tests were performed at the beginning and at the end of the therapy. Their results were subsequently evaluated and compared. The interpretation of the results in the context of measurement errors, minimal detectable changes and values describing the improvement or deterioration of patient's condition is emphasized in this bachelor thesis. Key words: gait, gait assessment, standardized tests, stroke, measurement...

Title: The use of electrotherapy to influence spasticity in patients after stroke Abstract: The theme of bachelor thesis is the use of electrotherapy to influence spasticity in pacients after stroke. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part there is described the issue concerning stroke, regulation of muscles tention and spasticity. Mostly there is stated performed research of accessible literary sources on the theme electrotherapy with antispastic effect. These findings come out mostly of the results of foreign studies, which are being mutually compared. Pratical part contains of two case reports of patients, who suffered a stroke and spasticity m. triceps surae has occured in them. On the concrete muscle the stimulation according to Janstch is being applicated for five days. The impact on spasticity is being observed, the spasticity had been examined by using the scale Five-step clinical assessment according to Gracies before the first therapy and instantly after the fifth therapy. Further the changes of parameters, which are desribed by the stated scale, had been observed. The aim of the thesis is to summarize and enrich the issue at the same time and on the basis of the results of own therapy to evaluate the impact of electrotherapy. Key words: stroke,...

Kocsis, Ágnes ; Tichá, Monika (advisor) ; Konopáčová, Eva (referee)
Name: Ágnes Kocsis Supervisor: Bc. Monika Tichá Title: Using methods of stretching lower extremities amongst patients with vertebrogenic algic syndrome Abstract: The subject of this work is to evaluate the effect of stretching lower extremities amongst patients with back pain. The theoretical part deals with different kinds of stretching, guidelines and new methods of stretching. I focused on the stretching of the fascial structures and influencing shortened muscles using yoga exercises. I summarized the effects of training on the lower extremities shortened muscles, pelvis, posture and back pain. Both patients were males and approximately the same age, both were suffering from back pain and had at least three muscles in lower extremities shortened. I applied stretching of myofascial structures using foam rolling method and then yoga stretching exercise with the first patient. With the second patient I used only yoga stretching exercise. The aim of the practical part of the thesis was to determine, if the effect of stretching combined with foam rolling in advance to affect myfascial structures is greater than using only yoga stretching exercise. Patients performed therapy at home ten times. The results show that the stretching is more effective if fascial system is taken into account. The effect was tested...

Title: Standardized examinations of spasticity in physiotherapy Abstract: This bachelor's thesis is aimed at giving an overview of the most commonly used standardized examinations of spasticity in physiotherapy and their comparison. It deals mainly with the best known methods of examinations that are used in practice. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, muscle tone and its regulation and spasticity as one of the upper motor neurone syndrome symptoms are specified. Moreover, the methods of examination (Ashworth scale and its modifications, Tardieu scale and five-step clinical assessment of spastic paresis according to Gracies) are presented and described in detail there. The practical part contains two case reports of patients after a cerebrovascular accident. Examinations and evaluations of spasticity, including Modified Frenchay scale or walk tests, which are described in the theoretical part, are applied to patients. The main contribution of this thesis is to create a comprehensive comparison of standardized examinations of spasticity through studies and my personal experience. Key words: spasticity, upper motor neurone syndrome, examinations and evaluations of spasticity, rating scales, Modified Frenchay scale, walk tests, five-step clinical...

Sensitivity of the 8 strains was tested - Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, Candida glabrata, Trichosporon asahii, Aspergillus fumigatus, Absidia corymbifera, Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Methods: Microdilution broth method was used. Results: Total of 24 substances displayed antifungal effect, the lowest MIC was 62,5 µmol.l-1 . The most sensitive strain was Trichophyton mentagrophytes, the least sensitive was Candida albicans. Derivates of N-benzylpyrazine-2-amine were the most active group of the substances. Conclusion: Alkyls with long hydrocarbon chain appeared to be profitable substituents...
Diagnostic methods for examination of hypermobility
Drábková, Eva ; Táborská, Silvie (advisor) ; Tichá, Monika (referee)
Title of bachelor thesis: Diagnostic methods for examination of hypermobility Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with problems of hypermobility (hypermobile syndrome) with particular focus on diagnostic methods for examination. Hypermobility may be understood as an expression for the reduced quality of connective tissue, which causes deterioration of the biomechanical stability of the joint. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose joint hypermobility correctly and accurately. Even though the existence of a wide range of method for examination for joint hypermobility, hypermobility is often overlooked. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The basic question of this thesis is which kinds of the diagnostic methods for hypermobility exist and how is their practical use. The theoretical part includes actual information about hypermobility (hypermobile syndrome) based on information mentioned in foreign studies and articles. The theoretical part provides general information about hypermobility, the classification of individual types of hypermobility and an overview of available diagnostic methods especially. Furthermore, it includes link between the articular hypermobility and extra-articular signs of hypermobility, which is seldom mentioned. The practical part consists of two...
