Proxy Server for Mobile Devices
Vašenka, Václav ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Weiss, Petr (advisor)
This thesis should introduce principles of proxy servers. Main focus is on using proxy as a mediator between a web user, accessing the web from mobile devices and a web server. Next, this paper deals with web design and with aspects that have affect the speed and effectiveness of web page browsing via a proxy server. Moreover, the realization of such a system is described in this paper.
Multiple Document Type Diff
Zemko, Michal ; Jirák, Ota (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
During the work on important projects, we have to backup current versions periodically. But sometimes we want to know what changes between two versions has been made. To recognize these changes, we can use the diff program that compares two text files line by line and can show differencies in various formats. A problem occurs, if we want to compare other than text files. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to create one tool that can compare different types of files, for example images, Open Office files, DTP system LaTeX files, config files and, of course, standard text files. Each of listed types is specific and demands unique approach. This thesis deals with theoretical analysis of the problem and also with realization of the program which executes the comparision.
Modul Management System with Using AJAX Technology
Machourek, Pavel ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Částek, Petr (advisor)
This work s focused on description of Web Content Management Systems and its capabilities. All important technologies, which are usually used such as PHP, ASP.NET, Java, AJAX etc. are introduced. There is also described implementation of own Web Content Management System using PHP, MySQL and AJAX and possible future development.
Innovation of FIT Web Pages
Zikmund, Martin ; Křivka, Zbyněk (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the web pages quality theory and with the methods of its checking. Furthermore, it shows procedure contributing to creation of modern web presentation of the Faculty of Information Technologies with respect to current trends in web technologies as well as to the requirements specified by web presentation for public educational institution. The objective is to explore web trends among world universities, draw a comparison between FIT web pages and presentations of selected schools, and along with a deeper analysis, specify the imperfections occurring in the actual FIT web presentation. On the basis of this information propose relevant rectification and design new web presentation prototypes. Various methods of Czech as well as international organizations will be mentioned in the thesis. These methods serve as a useful guideline for designing high-quality accessible web presentation as well as a tool for verification and auditing of the aspects fulfilled by the presentation.
Face Recognition
Kopřiva, Adam ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis considers methods of face recognition. There are described methods with different approachs: knowledge-based methods, feature invariant approaches, template matching methods and appearance-based methods. This master's thesis is focused particulary on template matching method and statistical methods like a principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). There are described in detail template matching methods like active shape models (ASM) and active appearance models (AAM).
Representation of Text and Its Influence on Categorization
Šabatka, Ondřej ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
The thesis deals with machine processing of textual data. In the theoretical part, issues related to natural language processing are described and different ways of pre-processing and representation of text are also introduced. The thesis also focuses on the usage of N-grams as features for document representation and describes some algorithms used for their extraction. The next part includes an outline of classification methods used. In the practical part, an application for pre-processing and creation of different textual data representations is suggested and implemented. Within the experiments made, the influence of these representations on accuracy of classification algorithms is analysed.
TRECVid Search Information Retrieval
Čeloud, David ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with Information Retrieval. It summarizes the knowledge in the field of Information Retrieval theory. Furthermore, the work gives an overview of models used in Information Retrieval, the data and the actual issues and their possible solutions. The practical part of the master's thesis is focused on the implementation of methods of information retrieval in textual data. The last part is dedicated to experiments validating the implementation and its possible improvements.
Face Identification
Macenauer, Oto ; Drozd, Michal (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This document introduces the reader to area of face recognition. Miscellaneous methods are mentioned and categorized to be able to understand the process of face recognition. Main focus of this document is on issues of current face recognition and possibilities do solve these inconveniences in order to be able to massively spread face recognition. The second part of this work is focused on implementation of selected methods, which are Linear Discriminant Analysis and Principal Component Analysis. Those methods are compared to each other and results are given at the end of work.
Information Retrieval
Šabatka, Pavel ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is a summary of theoretical knowledge in the field of information retrieval. This document contains mathematical models that can be used for information retrieval algorithms, including how to rank them. There are also examined the specifics of image and text data. The practical part is then an implementation of the algorithm in video shots of the TRECVid 2009 dataset based on high-level features. The uniqueness of this algorithm is to use internet search engines to obtain terms similarity. The work contains a detailed description of the implemented algorithm including the process of tuning and conclusions of its testing.
XML Persistence in Relational Databases
Boháč, Martin ; Kolář, Dušan (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create a client xDB database, which supports visualization and management of XML documents and schemas. The first part deals with the introduction of XML, XML schemas (DTD, XML Schema, RelaxNG, etc.) and contextual technologies. After that the thesis deals with the problem of the XML persistence and it focuses on mapping techniques necessary for an efficient storage in a relational database. The main part is devoted to the design and implementation of client application XML Admin, which is programmed in Java. The application uses the XML:DB interface to communicate with the xDB database. It supports storing XML documents to a collection and the XPath language for querying them. The final section is devoted to application performance testing and comparison with existing native database eXist.
