Development of reading skills by motivational activities - using tablets

This dissertation focuses on development of reading skills in teaching Czech language on the first grade of elementary schools with application of motivation effect of modern technologies. The thesis focuses mainly on usage of tablets as the latest technology, which currently begins to be used in classes of the elementary schools. In the theoretical part, I apply terms such as reading skill, reading literacy, motivation, and motivate activities. I present methods for teaching reading and describe individual modern technologies that are used in teaching. The goal of this dissertation is to show by what manners may be the tablets applied in the teaching. One section of the practical part is a collection of applications that can be used for development of reading skills. Furthermore, I introduce how the work looks in a class with the tablets by description of sample lessons and I compare it with the work which does not use the modern technologies. Role of the teacher and his/her responsibility in assessing student's maturity when enrolling in the first grade of primary school

The topic of this diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of a children enrolment to the first form of a basic school as an important milestone in their life. The theoretical part deals with the topic of the enrolment in its full scale. The author presents an overview concerning the issue of school maturity, school preparedness and their diagnostics. Further she deals with the topic of a postponement of school attendance and legislation. The main chapter of the theoretical part is the topic of competencies which a teacher of primary education should have at disposal during enrolments. In the practical part of this diploma thesis the author gives space to teachers, who, by means of a questionnaire and an unstructured interview, reflect their opinions and feelings concerning their role during enrolments. The author deals with their pedagogical competency. The teachers have an opportunity to present their opinions about the current form of the enrolment procedure. The outcome of this thesis is a discussion about usefulness of the current enrolment procedure and concrete suggestions for a change.
Progress in trends of foreign pre-primary and primary schools

This dissertation deals with new approaches of alternative schooling in foreign countries which recently became very popular. These three schools and approaches chosen for this dissertation are not known in Czech Republic yet. The dissertation presents these alternative schools and proposes alternative brushing up of the ideas to the maintain schools. The first school and the first approach of alternative is democratic school or also free school. The oldest democratic school is Summerhill in the east of England. The second interesting approach and school is Te Whāriki from New Zealand. The framework deals with education through socio-cultural context. The last representative of schooling which dissertation deals with will be Reggio Emillia, which is from Italy and based on ideas of Loris Malaguzzi. The dissertation applies to main philosophies of these three alternatives, which appears abroad and mainly in Great Britain. This thesis with title "Children's Group - Benefit for both, Parents & Child in the age of two up to three years" deals with nowadays actual social topic, which is placement of children of early age to outside-family institutions. The thesis is divided into two parts. The main task of the first, theoretic part, is to gather and work with all information, which might be used for the topic of work and which might be found in all available literature. The attention is focused onto family with a small child, on current form of such a family and factors, which influence education of the child and its involvement into the society. This part deals also in a detailed way with all family members. With a child, with its needs and possibilities of meeting those needs. It deals also with roles of mother and father, who together and responsibly approach to the education of the child and who, at a same time, try to combine family and career life in the most appropriate way. Possibilities of Traffic Safety Education of Kindergarten Children

Summary: This thesis deals with the options of using traffic safety education in kindergarten. It investigates whether there is enough attention to traffic education given in preschool. The theoretical part is focused on basic concepts: education, preschool education, traffic education, all with regard to the issue of preschool age children. It describes the organization involved in the traffic education for preschool age children. It further analyzes the available methodological resources related to this issue due to Framework educational program for preschool education. The next section analyzes the traffic education program, which is assembled in the bachelor thesis. (Husáková 2012) Through analysis of educational programs of individual kindergartens in Decin, I found out, that there is not sufficient attention to traffic education given. Three kindergartens do not have the traffic education incorporated in their school curriculum at all, eleven kindergartens have it only within the school education programs, and only seven kindergartens pays attention to the traffic education in a separate annex. Assessment of the readiness of children at compulsory school teaching public and family

The main goal of the thesis was to detect and subsequently present a comprehensive views of educational society and parents for the current issue of school preparedness and its related issues concerning the high number of school attendance delay. To obtain these views was used a method of semi-structured interviews with parents, teachers from preparatory classes and teachers from nursery and primary schools. When analysis of testimony was finished, has been used and also elected procedure confrontation between these dates, then confrontation with professional publications, articles, web discussion forums and also primary data which was find out at conference that was organized on this topic. After the research was found that the issue of school preparedness affects to other issues like: an education and qualification of nursery teachers, the quality of cooperation between school and family, problems of capacity classrooms in nursery and solving number of children and age composition of class, accountability for school readiness child etc. The results of this thesis indicate what opinions have the family and educational public on the current status of the school preparedness disadvantages of children and also parts of school preparedness, in which today's children mainly excel. Current family with a preschool child with a focus on the father's role

The aim of my thesis was to find out how the current family of preschool children works, with emphasis on the father's role in the family. In the theoretical part I have focused on the problems of current families, gender issues, respectively gender stereotypes, the importance of a father in a child's socialization process, the influence of the father on the child's upbringing. In the theoretical part, I have also followed up the issues of the kindergarten cooperation with family, with emphasis on the role of the father in it. The empirical part of the dissertation has two levels. The first one is the status of the father in the current family, the second level relates to how kindergarten teachers perceive fathers and their involvement in co-operation with kindergarten.
Programmes supporting the development of children under three years old

The thesis is focused on the current possibilities of day care for children under three years and a deeper analysis of educational programmes supporting the development of children aged between two and three years in the capital city of Prague. The theoretical part summarizes the child care options in this age group, in terms of past and current offers in the Czech Republic, and covers the system of early intervention in selected European countries. With regard to the research objective, the work focuses on the child's needs, specific developmental areas and related educational programs that promote the development of the child's personality. For research, qualitative and quantitative methods are used - the methods of observation and questionnaires. The research is an analysis of the availability of interactive programmes for children, but also the potential of teachers to participate in the preparation, implementation and content of the programmes with regard to their experience and knowledge gained in working with young children. The research shows quite a wide selection of Czech and foreign programmes that aim to provide incentives for children to develop their abilities, skills and interests and enable the first steps toward socialization and adaptation to the new environment. Conditions of education for children from two years in kindergarten

This thesis deals with actual topic in the Czech Republic - pre-school education of children younger than three years in kindergartens. With regards to social, health educational and family policies development, education and care of children under three years of age have shifted to kindergartens. The aims of this thesis are to describe recent changes concerning family, current state of pre-school education system in the Czech Republic with regard to children younger than three years of age needs and analyze and specific these needs by a contemporary young child. On such substantial data base we would like to define specific conditions of pre-school education of such young children. To follow the aims, an inquiry was conducted to examine whether or not the needs of children younger than three years are fulfilled at some kindergartens. Following that, the inquiry outputs from individual school have been compared to one another and to a model of an optimal praxis of a pre-school institution. Based on this thesis outcomes it is obvious that pre-school education of children of age up to three years in kindergartens is possible.
