Formula Student Pedal Assembly with Autonomous Brake Function
Skalník, Adam ; Straka, Tomáš (referee) ; Tobiáš, Martin (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to research possible options of autonomous brake system for Formula Student vehicle. Optimal solution is chosen according to the requirements of the team. This solution is designed together with the pedal assembly. Emphasis is placed on reliability, weight and suitable installation in the vehicle compartment when designing the assembly.
Design of conventional motorcycle swingarm made from aluminum alloy
Adlof, Michal ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of the swingarm from aluminium alloys. The theoretical part is devoted to a closer description of the swingarm. Here, the older ways of wheel deposition are described, followed by a comparison of the four basic variations of the swinging forks. The practical part of the thesis is then focused on the design overhaul of the steel swingarm. In the next part, the calculations of forces and stress analysis are presented. Subsequently, the original steel and redesigned aluminium swingarm are compared. And finally, the complete drawing documentation needed for the production can be found in the annex.
Conceptual Design of the Complete Hydraulic Tipping System
Vávra, Daniel ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
The main topic of this work is to clarify the basic types of tipping bodies of heavy trucks and a simplified design of the tipping hydraulics. The first part mentions the most common types of tipping bodies and hydraulic systems. Furthermore, the principles and parameters of the used hydraulic components are clarified. Within the design of the hydraulics of the tipping body of a one-sided tipper, the basic relations for the derivation of the kinematics of movement, the design of the hydraulic cylinder and all other components are described. At the end of the work is described the analysis of temperatures during the process of tilting the body and instructions for operation and maintenance.
Autonomous vehicles testing
Nágl, Jiří ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the research of autonomous vehicles and their testing. In the first part, the work focuses on autonomous vehicles and connectivity between them. Subsequently, it deals with testing of autonomous vehicles on proving grounds and testing in real world. The last chapter includes virtual testing and dedicated software.
Analysis of measured dynamic states of motorcycles
Tobiáš, Martin ; Zháňal, Lubor (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
This thesis, within a long-term project at the Institute of automotive engineering at FME BUT, aspires to prepare a motorcycle for analysis of its dynamic riding behavior. A multi-body model of a motorcycle is created based on the measured parameters and a system for measuring driving conditions is designed. The necessary motorcycle parameters were measured using a 3D scanner and through experiments aided by computer technology and CAD software. This laid the foundation for the follow-up research and development work.
Measuring the forces acting between the wheel and the road
Gellner, Pavel ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the measurement of forces acting between the tire and the road. There is an outline of tire and tire models problematic in the opening part. In the following part, the rear right suspension of the formula student car was mounted with strain gauges and the data logging system was described. There is also a multi-body model of the rear axle created in Adams/Car and SAMS software, that is able to calculate forces acting between the tire and the road, taking the measured forces in the suspension, rocker position, and throttle position into consideration. After a series of calibrations and verification measurements, the measurement on the test track was made, with data analysis focused on forces acting between the tire and the road.
Road racing sidecar F2 cathegory
Šťáva, Rudolf ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Tobiáš, Martin (advisor)
Thesis defines the history and characteristics of sidecars in the period before and during World War II. It contains a description of modern sidecars and their constructions. It also focuses on the design of chassis for a specific racing sidecar of the F2 category and the evaluation of strength results in the program ANSYS Workbench 2021. Lastly, it evaluates the results of the stiffness of my design solution with the results of the already analysed and existing structure.

Electric Longboard Powertrain Design
Pliešovský, Libor ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of electric longboard drivetrain for commuting. The first part deals with the recherche of electric longboards and drivetrain concept selection. The second part contains the design of the whole assembly with focus on the drivetrain. The last part is devoted to the longitudinal driving dynamics.
Stabilization systems of motorcycles
Honek, Bohumil ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
In terms of this bachelor’s thesis, the author created a comprehensive overview and description of mechanical and electronic stabilizing systems of one-track vehicles. This thesis furthermore deals with the impact of a vehicle’s structure on its stability and riding dynamics and also includes a brief historical development of the individual components. This thesis then offers an outlook into the close future of vehicles’ and similar machinery’s stability, followed by the author’s critical evaluation.
