Differences in Style between French and Italian piano music of the 17th - 18th century

The bachelor thesis titled "Differences in Style between French and Italian Piano Music of the 17th and 18th centuries" deals with the comparison of the diverse music practice, notation and understanding of music in general in Italy and France. I focus on showing the capabilities and skills the artists and composers had to master, on prominent builders, and building of harpsichords of that time. The first chapter sketches significant style features of Italian music and presents Italian composers of keyboard pieces. The second chapter, on the other hand, deals with style features of French music and French keyboard pieces of the 17th and 18th centuries. The third chapter is dedicated to the differences in instrument building. The fourth chapter provides an overview of major differences between French and Italian artwork. The last chapter summarizes the findings from the previous chapters.
The Historical Interpretative and Methodical Sources for Harpsichord of the 18th Century

My Master´s work is called The historical interpretative and methodical sources for harpsichord of the 18th century. I have compiled the main French sources of the 17th and 18th century in my Bachelor´s work(2008): Les Principes du Clavecin (1702), Monsieur de Saint Lambert (ccca. 1700), L´Art de toucher le Clavecin (1716, 1717), Francois Couperin (1668-1733) a De la mechanique des doigts sur le clavessin (1724), Jean Philippe Rameau (1683-1764). My Master´s work is divided into five chapters. the first chapter is about the social and political situation of the 18th century in France and Germany and also includes the main features of the keyboards music. The second and the third chapter focus on the detailed contents of the interpretative and methodical sources. It also explores the principal questions of the foundations of playing the harpsichord, music theory, ornamentation, fingering, dynamic and expression of pieces. The forth chapter deals with the basic principles of the interpretation fo thoroughbass. The main sources of information are summarized in the fifth chapter.
Diminution in music for keyboard instruments in 16th and 17th century

My Bachelor´s work deals with diminutions in music for keyboard instruments in various parts of Europe in 16th and 17th century. It is divided into four chapters. First chapter talks about historical development of keyboard music. Second chapter explains english term diminution. Third chapter is about working with sources and literature, the main source of music in Spain and Italy is "Trattado de glossas" (1553) by Diego Ortiz and of England and Scandinavia the work "The Division-Violist: or An Introduction to the Playing upon a Ground"(1659) by Christopher Simpson. In the next chapter I am writing about influence of rhetoric on music and I analyse music, which I am preparing for my bachelor concert at the momentand present some examples in the appendix. There are examples from the Fantasia Chromatica by Jan Pietersson Sweelinck and from the Sonate b minor by Antonio Soler.

My Bachelor thesis The historical development of cadences with a view to the baroque keyboard repertoir deals with the terminology of cadences. It defines the word "cadence", puts into contrast different kinds of cadences, which are elaborated in a historical context. The first chapter is about the history of cadence closes from the Gregorian chant to the cadences defined by J.-Ph.Rameau, standard types as we know them these days. The second chapter explains different types of ornamental cadences. After an overview I concentrate on the cadence in baroque keyboard music, especially as it occurs in the work of C.Ph.Em.Bach.

The following text is concerned with the topic of nterpretation of C.Ph.E.Bach´s Württemberg Sonatas. As well, in this work I tried to cover the musical personality of Bach, period in which he lived and composed, the musical scene in Germany in the second half f the 18th century and a short overview of Bach´s keybord works.
History of Harpsichord in Czech Republic in the 20th Century

The bachelor thesis "History of the Harpsichord in Czech Republic in the 20th Century" deal with two close connected subjects, the history of early music revival and the history of harpsichord revival, both in the world and in the Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is the first investigation into the still unexplored part of the history of Czech music culture and its contextualisation. Because the chapter about the harpsichord revival accentuates the period of the transition from the modern instruments to the copies of historical instruments, the last chapter discusses the differenxces of the construction of both types of instruments.

The diploma thesis "Strategies of Preparation for a Concert Performance" deals with select psycho-physiological aspects of instrumental practising, that should serve as impulses to searching and creating the individual learning style. First of all, the history and contents of the branch of music physiology and performing arts medicine are introduced. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the practising in the relation to our health, introduces the spheres of the most often causes of playing-related health problems and shows some examples of procedures how to prevent these problems. In addition to this, the thesis explains the instrumental practising from the view of the brain physiology and mentions such practising strategies that represent the optimum from this point of view. In conclusion, select psychological strategies are mentioned as well as methods of mental training.

The first chapter is about French harpsichord composers´life and work. The second chapter is about engages Les Principes du Clavecin by Monsieur de Saint Lambert. The third chapter is about L´Art de toucher de Clavecin by Francois Couperin. De la mechanique des doigts sur le clavessin by Jeana Philippe Rameau is in the fourth chapter. Summerize content of treatises and comparison of authors´opinions is in the last chapter.
