Analysis of spontaneous adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reports is one of the most important sources of information to evaluate drug-related risks. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyse spontaneous ADRs reports of Infanrix hexa vaccine, which were sent to the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) database in the period from 2004 to 2017. Methods: The data was analysed using descriptive statistic in MS Excel. ADRs were classified according to the MedDRA. Seriousness and expectedness of ADRs were evaluated. Results: Overall 1288 reports were obtained containing 4334 ADRs, approximately 3.4 ADRs per report. Infanrix hexa vaccine was the only suspected drug in most of the reports (75.9%). Physicians were the most frequent reporters (70.2%). Serious ADRs were found in 84.3% of reports. The most frequent ADRs were general disorders and administration site...

Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Pulse check in pharmacies III Author: Ivana Vasilišinová Supervisor: PharmDr. Anna Rejmanová, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common supraventricular arrhythmia. It is often asymptomatic. If left untreated, the patient is at significant risk of complications, especially of ischemic stroke (IS) and heart failure. These complications can be effectively prevented by early detection of AF and initiation of treatment. Population screening activities performed at pharmacies could serve as an useful tool for detection of latent arrhythmias. Objective: The aim of this diploma thesis was to analyze the heart rate, blood pressure, selected symptoms and risk factors for IS in real patient population and to raise their awareness in the field of heart rate monitoring. Methodology: The measurement took place in a public pharmacy at an outpatient clinic in Prague during the one-day campaign "Pharmacy Day" (18/6/2020) and subsequent data collection (12/2020-02/2021). During this time, education in atrial fibrillation, the heart rate and blood pressure measurement and also evaluation of the selected symptoms and risk factors for the possible future...

Binderová, Magdalena ; Kovařík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Rejmanová, Anna (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Student: Mgr. Magdalena Binderová Supervisor: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, Ph.D. Title of Thesis: Association of phase angle with dynamometric and spirometric parameters in patients with COPD. Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease with extrapulmonary comorbidities which have a significant impact on the quality of patients' life, their mortality and morbidity. Loss of muscle strength and dysfunction of the peripheral skeletal muscle fibres are considered as one of the crucial system consequences of COPD. For the purposes of the clinical evaluation of muscle strength, dynamometers can be used. Spirometry is regarded as a gold standard for the diagnosis. In this thesis, we focused on association of the dynamometric and spirometric parameters with the detected values of the phase angle (PA) measured by means of the bioimpedance analysis in COPD patients. Methods: Our study was based on a sample of 50 COPD patients (38 men, 12 women) of the average age of 66 years ± 7 years. According to the measured values of PA, the patients were divided into 2 groups: a group with low PA value (PA < 5ř; n=17) and a group with normal value (PA ≥ 5ř; n=33). The monitored...

Analysis of Spontaneous Adverse Events Reports after Tick-Borne Encephalitis Vaccine Author: Tereza Brázdová Supervisor: PharmDr. Eva Zimčíková, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aim: Tick-borne meningoencephalitis is one of the most frequent causes of viral meningitis in Europe. In recent years, the number of cases of this infection in the Czech Republic has begun to rise. Vaccination is the only reliable protection against infection, but it also comes with some risks. Analysis of spontaneous adverse reaction reports is a key source of information for signal detection, which is used to identify drug risks. The aim of this thesis was to analyse the spontaneous reporting of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs), using the data from the Central Database of ADRs provided by the State Institute for Drug Control. Methodology: Descriptive statistics were performed from reporting data in the period from June 2004 to October 2017. For example, the total number of reports, the number of ADRs and the patient characteristics were analysed. We compared the adverse reactions with the Vigibase database and evaluated the expectability of reported reactions. Results: During the...
