The point of the proposal is to revitalize a high school for physically disadvantaged kids and the schools surroundings. The work includes a proposal for the revitalization of the school, the concept of a school garden, and a café with a community center. The result will be a suitable space for education, relaxation, and development, not only for the school students but also for the local residents.

The bachelor thesis deals with the revitalization of the Gemini School for disabled youth and its surroundings. The school is located in the Lesná housing estate in Brno. The original function of the school building was a kindergarten and nursery. The layout of the building is almost unchanged since then. The aim of the work is to adapt the school and its grounds to the current function of the secondary school so that it is accessible to all students and staff. To increase student capacity. To create a welcoming and functional learning environment so that the students who graduate from this school can be fully employed and integrated into everyday life.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the building modifications of a secondary school for handicapped students in Brno, in the city district of Lesná. The existing building is inadequate for the needs of students with disabilities, therefore only the existing supporting structure of the building (columns, ceiling above 1NP, foundation structures) will remain, the perimeter walls and roof will be replaced by newly designed structures that meet the current thermal requirements. The building consists of two parts – a two-storey former nursery building (designated as Building A) with a single-storey glazed extension with atrium and a two-storey heat exchanger building (Building B), of which only 2NP is used for school purposes. The school and heat exchanger buildings are connected by a newly designed link across the width of the secondary school building, replacing the existing neck. A new material-contrasting glass staircase extension with a lift is proposed on the north side of Building A to allow wheelchair access to the building from Vaculíkova Street. In addition, a steel structure escape staircase extension with lift is proposed on the east side with a metal trellis with climbing plants. A reinforced concrete structure of the entrance ramp with a terrace for students' meeting is added to Building B from the north side (from Vaculíkova Street). On the south side, a pre-set steel terrace with a trellis for climbing plants has been added, which serves as a shade during the summer months. The school building is functionally divided into a student accommodation part located on the 2NP in the eastern part, a teaching part (classrooms and teachers' offices) on the 1NP of the A building and the 2NP of the exchanger, an operationally separated administrative part (offices, boardroom, headmaster's office, secretariat) accessible from the street by a ramp. In the western part of the 1NP there are technical facilities of the building - janitorial, kitchen, training kitchen and food stores, the facilities are accessible by a separate supply entrance accessible via the existing road leading from the south. The design emphasizes the pleasant, comfortable and safe stay and movement of students not only during classes but also during breaks.
Workers‘ Housing of 21st Century
Ordeltová, Kristýna ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of small-scale urban housing in a 21st century context. However, the aim was not to forget the industrial heritage of mining and metallurgical Ostrava. Most of this heritage includes a few buildings such as huge halls or mining towers, but small houses and dwellings at the other end of the scale are undoubtedly a true reflection of the period. Just as miners and metallurgists lived beneath the towers and chimneys of factories at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, I have also chosen a location for my dwelling in this work. The Petr Bezruč mine has been partially reclaimed and awaits its future use. I propose a residential district of 9 buildings offering different typologies and standards. It includes a complex urban design of outdoor spaces, their use and degree of privacy. The central motif of the proposal is also the „sokolovna“ - a reconversion of the workshop hall, which will serve as a leisure space for local residents. An industrial nature trail also runs through the area, helping to integrate the island below the mining tower into the context of the town.
Family Winery in the Moravian Countryside
Adamcová, Kateřina ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is the design of a small family winery in the Moravian countryside. The chosen location is the heart of the South Moravia wine region and offers attractive views of the Pavlov Hills. The work is loosely related to the pre-diploma project, which aimed to map and evaluate the current situation of wine houses/cellars in the village of Strachotín, which lies on the border of the Nové Mlýny dam. The development of tourism and the modernisation of buildings has had the most noticeable impact on the historic cellar buildings, which have gradually disappeared or are being rebuilt for recreational purposes. The diploma project is situated outside the nowadays "fragmented wine alley" and presents a possible proposal for a new architectural form in the landscape, right among the vineyards.
Active Damping of Machine Tool Head
Škúci, Michal ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Březina, Tomáš (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with building mechatronics model of machine tool head delivered by company TOSHULIN,a.s. for purpose of damping vibration. Mechanical part of the model is based on modeling of system of flexible bodies. Components are modeled in FEM program ANSYS and subsequently reduced using Craig-Bampton method. The system of flexible bo-dies is created in MBS program ADAMS. Model is linearized and subsequently reduced. As a element of active damping is used linearized model of magnetic bearing. For control is desig-ned PID controller. The comparison of damped and undamped model is conducted in the end.
Passive compensation of a thermal deformation for a machine tool
Šabart, Adam ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Hermanský, Dominik (advisor)
This master thesis deals with passive compensation of a thermal deformation for a binder of portal machining center. The problem is solved by computational modeling with finite element method using ANSYS Workbench software. Afterwards mathematical optimization (also using ANSYS Workbench software) is used for finding binder parameters in order to reduce thermal deformation and its weight. The output is two new versions of binder which are compared to the original configuration.
Cultural Center in Koprivnice
Kocián, Václav ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The project is to design the reconstruction Koprivnica's center building cultural center and museum of Tatra, which was built in 1991. Of the building is located between the street and Záhumenní Koprivnická flow of the river, which at this point is hidden in the length of 150 meters and produces along with height dominates the Hotel Tatra quite complicated urban situation. Proposed reconstruction allows for the transfer of the Tatra Museum in its factory premises and complete cleaning KDK building to its original mass. The resulting space is designed single-storey building with commercial use of the space in creating a semi-enclosed rekonstruavanému cultural house.
Design of headstock for boring centre
Raszka, Pavel ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Hermanský, Dominik (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with the design of the headstock for the horizontal boring center. In the first part of the thesis, a search is made in the field of boring machines and main parts of boring machine headstock. Based on this theoretical analysis, the input parameters for the calculation of the tension, power and torque characteristics of the headstock are selected. Subsequently, the design of the headstock is done using a 3D model.
HOUSE ON THE EDGE – Valašské Meziříčí, Sokolská Street
Málek, Ivan ; Mašek, Radomír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
the concept is to try to achieve the most effective use of the construction site at hand while respecting the heights of neighbouring buildiings.
