The influence of meteorological conditions on take-off and landing powered aircraft
Koupý, Zdeněk ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This thesis deals with influence of various meteorological conditions and impact phenomena on aircraft performance during take-off and landing, it means with performance of their air power units. I focused on influence of meteorological elements (not phenomena) like physical characteristics of the atmosphere including wind. The target of this thesis was to create a clear set of meteorological elements which affect the aircraft performance during these critical phases of flight including their analysis, explanation and related recommendations. Analysis of some meteorological elements also contains figures from particular world´s airports.
Influence of clear air turbulence and vocanic ash on the air traffic
Puchar, Vladimír ; Hudec,, František (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor thesis handles issues related to turbulence in cloudless space and the influence of volcanic ash on air traffic. It contains basic information and knowledge to pilot airliners. Topic turbulence in cloudless space CAT is conceived more in terms ofweather, they include general information about the accompanying phenomena. The chapter on volcanic ash are also included chapters on understanding the issues thatare not directly related to the hazard to air traffic.
Exploration of the jet stream in the civil air transport
Švec, Michal ; Imriš, Pavel (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with jet streams. The exploration part describes conditions of jet stream formation, its characteristics, classification on the geographical basis and phenomena attendant on the jet streams. It also contains a description of jet stream measurement methods and methods of its interpretation in aeronautical meteorological charts. Organization of aeronautical traffic in the north Atlantic region within reach of the jet streams is further described. Practical part of this thesis contains author’s own research which compares time and economical profitability of transatlantic flights planned according to the jet streams. The principle of this evaluation was based on assessment of real flights and flights via shortest possible routes. It was proven, that profits mentioned above are gained only in the oceanic parts of flights.
The visibility identification on aerodromes in Czech Republic
Smetka, Adam ; Hudec, František (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This work deals with the visibility and its breakdown by weather vocabulary. It discusses the development of RVR systems at airports in the Czech Republic, describes the measurement systems RVR MITRAS, MIDAS IV and history of selected airports. Other chapters describe the possible development of measurement techniques in RVR. The final section is devoted to the categories of runways.
Wind Influence on the Traffic Airports in the Czech Republic
Švec, Michal ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with surface wind, which is the wind that influences or limits take-offs and landings of aircrafts. It firstly mentions the meteorological causes of the wind, its characteristics in the atmosphere, effect of the ground relief to the wind and dangerous meteorological phenomena for aviation, which are caused by the wind. The next part is focused on the wind measurement from the general and practical point of view, which includes today’s measuring instruments. It describes the issue of wind components and their effect on take-offs and landings of airplanes, wind in meteorological reports and forecasts and AWOS system. Afterwards the evaluation of surface wind at Karlovy Vary airport was made using the described scales and methods.
Icing as Dangerous Phenomenon in Aviation
Drška, Martin ; Třetina, Karel (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is describe the creation of icing and its dangerous in aviation. The work contains several sections that describe the conditions of icing, different types of icing and its measuring. Also methods are described here means to protect against icing.
Meteorological information sources for air crews
Polanský, Lukáš ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the description of meteorological phenomena factors and clouds affecting air transport. Furthermore, the potential avenues of disseminating available meteorological information and a modern way of providing the aircrew with information is described. The aim was to create a comprehensive set of information on aeronautical meteorology that may be beneficial for the general public.
The implementation of new JAR-FCL 1 requirements on the air transport pilots theoretical training in meteorology.
Kotoučková, Michaela ; Imriš, Pavel (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor thesis processes overview of legislative changes for teaching airline pilots in terms of aeronautical meteorology. Includes changes in the mandatory curriculum and teaching changes that need to be adjusted in current textbooks.
Problematics of flight in mountainous terrain
Ilčin, Jaroslav ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
The Bachelor Thesis presents the specific meteorology phenomena of the mountain environment and an impact on aircraft operation. The Thesis analyzes these phenomena causes, development and process with focus on evaluation of weather impact interacting with orography on Poprad - Tatry airport operation.
Fogs and low-level clouds at the airport Ostrava-Mošnov
Harant, Tomáš ; Chlebek, Jiří (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This thesis describes low altitude clouds and low visibility, their position in the aeronautical meteorological reports and measurements. It is main target is fog as the main reasons for lack of visibility, it is origins forecasts and types of fog. Mainly focuses on ways of identifying and measuring of low altitude clouds and low visibility at the Ostrava- Mošnov airport. They are developed using tables and graphs of observation statistics, low visibility and small cloudnes at airport Ostrava- Mošnov.
