Identifying a genetic predisposition affecting sports performance, focusing on anaerobic activity of skeletal muscle activity
Balkó, Iva ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Šimonek, Jaromír (referee) ; Zvonař, Martin (referee)
Title Identifying of genetic predisposition affecting sports performance focusing on anaerobic activity of skeletal muscle activity Problem Inborn predispositions of every individual are mainly influenced by the inherited genetic information in their DNA with the addition of external environmental factors. Based on the high variability of the inborn predictions in the form of phenotypic differences in the anatomy or physiology of an individual, it can be deduced on the connection between genetics and a specific sport talent. According to current scientific knowledge, anaerobic performance of the skeletal muscle tissue seems to be more genetically influenced. Anatomic and functional properties of the skeletal muscle are mainly influenced by genes, which have effect on the muscle fibre structure, blood storage, metabolism, neurotransmission, and muscle regeneration, etc. Fencing is a complex sport discipline where predispositions to speed and dynamic force play a key role. The sport performance in fencing, regardless of the type of weapon, is directly dependent on the interactions between the reaction of the fencer to the surrounding stimuli (visual, tactile), accuracy, tactical and technical skills, level of anticipation and overall physical a psychological readiness of the fencer. This work is...
Changes of systolic blood pressure figures in dependance on measuring point, body position and the level of physical load among girls from 11 to 13 years
Pavlů, Regina ; Bartůňková, Staša (advisor) ; Kohlíková, Eva (referee) ; Velemínský, Miloš (referee)
Thesis is a pilot study to get reference figures for evaluation of relevancy of hemodynamic development disorders of coartation of the aorta. 18 healthy girls aged from 11 to 13 were tested. In total 450 measurements were carried out and 2700 figures were measured within 1 year in 5 positions. Blood pressure was measured on arteria brachialis and femoralis, supplemented by electric impedance technology on lower limb. The following positions were measured: standstill lying down on a bed, stand after passive verticality up to 66 degrees, standstill seat on a bicycle ergometer and load of 1W/kg and 2W/kg of body weight for 3 minutes. This thesis confirmed the differences in circulation reactions. The systolic pressure gradient among healthy population was lower than among patients with coarctation of aorta and during the physical load was decreasing. The results are important for diagnostics examinations of evolutionary defects. Keyvords: BMI, coarctation of aorta, systolic blood pressure, pressure gradient, load testing

Guest dimensions of health status in patients with spondylarthritis ankylopoetica using the SF-36th
Petrtýlová, Radka ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Levitová, Andrea (referee)
Title: Guest dimensions of health status in patients with spondylarthritis ankylopoetica using the SF-36th Objectives: The major aim of the diploma thesis was the study and the evaluation of the quality of life of patients with the spondylarthritis ankylopoetica in the Czech Republic. Methods: The own research was conducted using the survey method by means of the standardized questionnaire Short Form 36 (SF-36), which deals with the Health Related Quality of Life . The Czech version of the SF-36 survey translated by MUDr. Petr, Ph.D. (2000) was applied. In order to reach the main aim of the thesis the research was conducted in a group of patients with spondylarthritis ankylopoetica (n=101) and among the same number of the general Czech population members. The achieved results were divided into particular age categories in the both groups. The statistically significant differences between the two analysed samples were subsequently verified. Results: The mean age of the patients with spondylarthritis ankylopoetica was 51,6±14,9 years, whereas it reached 52,3±15,5 years in the sample of the general population. In the majority of the dimensions of the SF-36 questionnaire related to the physical health (physical functioning, role physical, bodily pain and general health) achieved the patients...
The relationship between sarcopenia and two behavioral factors - cigarett smoking and alcohol drinking - meta- analysis
Šteffl, Michal ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Rusina, Robert (referee) ; Králíková, Eva (referee)
Background Sarcopenia is one of problems its prevalence and development have been studied in many researches. A meta-analysis focusing to sarcopenia relationships could open the new space for following scientific works. Objectives The main aims of that study were to explore relationships between sarcopenia and cigarette smoking and also sarcopenia and alcohol drinking in relatively healthy people over 65 years old on the basis of recommendation of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews. Methods Four electronic databases were searched to identify potentially relevant literature for this study. Then the data which contained relevant information were transformed into contingency tables and there were calculated odds ratios (OR) by using those tables. Except OR calculating, there was made systematic review section where the ORs which were transferred from individual studies were collected and assessed. Finally age-adjusted linear regression models were done. Results Out of 373 papers identified as potentially relevant by the database searching, 20 were ultimately included in the meta-analyses. From those papers data of 33,162 participants were analyzed. It was found that OR (95% CI) in cigarette smoking analysis was in males 1.65 (1.16 - 2.35), in females 1.42 (1.09 - 1.85), and in overall...

Physical exercise in diabetes mellitus 2 type patients
Pelíšková, Pavlína ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Vokrouhlický, Lubor (referee) ; Vrablík, Michal (referee)
Problem: Aerobic endurance exercise is traditionally considered the best motoric activity in Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The most recommended form is continuous training at a defined level of intensity. Interval training is less used despite its proven effectiveness given by the possibility of applying a higher training load. Hypothesis: Long-term individually prescribed physical exercise therapy in Type 2 DM patients treated with diet and oral antidiabetics is demonstrably and objectively beneficial for these patients concerning their health condition, as shown by the metabolic compensation and anthropometric and fitness parameters. Physical exercise therapy described here helps to improve the patients' health condition in short the term and maintain it in the long term. Objective: Our aim is to prove the positive effect of a long-term individually adapted regular physical exercise therapy in type 2 DM patients. Method: The research sample consisted of Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (male and female) after termination of insulin therapy and its replacement by oral anti-diabetic drugs. A group of 31 patients treated with oral antidiabetics, diet and existing physical regimen is being compared with a group of 31 patients treated with diet, antidiabetics and defined physical exercise...
