Application Basal Stimulation in Intensive Care Unit

Precis This graduation theses discusses about application of the concept of Basal stimulation in the work of nurses in intensive care. A theoretical part explains the concept of basal stimulation, briefly outlining the history of this concept and describes the different elements. Elements' name are include somatic, vestibular, visual, olfactory, auditory, oral and tactile - haptic stimulation. The work also highlights the importace of biographical history of the client. Research part determines the level of knowledges about basal stimulation between nurses in the ICU (intensit care units) and its use in the ICU at University Hospital in Hradec Králové. The Risk of Penetrating Injurie and Their Prevention

This thesis deals with injuries of healthcare workers with sharp objects. Nurses injured by used needles is a very serious and timely topic. The theoretical part focuses on occupational diseases, mode of transmission of infectious diseases, to protect Nurses from stab wounds and protective equipment. Research was conducted in two hospitals, at the University Hospital Bulovka in Prague and Klatovská hospital and was attended by 109 nurses and midwives. Data obtained by the quantitative research confirmed that the incidence of stab injuries is high among health professionals. Contrary, knowledge and adherence to preventive measures against a sharp object injuries and professional awareness of the diseases is inadequate.
Ostomy Devices Utilization in Practice

The thesis is focused on the use of stoma care in practice. The work consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical. This section is devoted to the anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal tract, additional chapters are devoted to the main theme, which is colostomy. There is history and development of stoma care, indications for the colostomy performance and possible complications. Another large part of the total is the nursing part where I attend nursing care of the patient with colostomy, this includes stoma care, peristomal area care, mental health care, nutrition and hydration care. There is also included a chapter about education of the patient and family members. The empirical part focuses on the research, where the method of the data collection is an anonymous questionnaire. The survey was conducted in the surgical clinic with 48 patients with colostomy. The aim of the research was to objectively evaluate and to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of stoma care, find out in which areas of daily activities the largest problem with colostomy patients occurred in terms of the adaptation process, and to improve the lives of the patients with ostomy as well.I found out how much needed a qualified stoma nurse is. I see her importance in the care of stoma patients.
Nursing Care of Children with Orofacial Clefts

In the theoretical part I deal with cleft lip and palate, their distribution, risk factors, prevention, diagnosis and tretment. It also the nursing care of children with cleft lip/palate the infant and toddler period. The main objective of the thesis is to determine what is the nursing care for children with orofacial cleft. In addition, three sub-objectives have been established. The first goal was to find out what the nursing care is in the field of nutrition in children with cleft face. The second goal was to survey, what the nursing care of is wound in children after orofacial surgery. The last goal was to learn about the parents' awareness of the care with facial cleft. All objectives have been met. For the qualitative research as a method for data collection, was used nursing care report. The default method for the assembly of two case reports, was conducted and interview with mothers of children according to the structure of the model by M. Gordon - Model functional health patterns. Furthermore, the method of observation was used to compile the said case reports, and so was used medical documentation. Role of General Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing

The bachelor thesis deals with problems of rehabilitation nursing in practice. The main aim of the work was to establish the awareness of general nurses on rehabilitation nursing and whether they co-operated within the scope of a multi-disciplinary team. My Partial Aims were to find out what did general nurses consider to be rehabilitation nursing, whether they rehabilitated with patients and whether the multi-disciplinary team was used in practice. The theoretical part of the thesis aims at summary of information as related to rehabilitation nursing. There is also stated the way of education of general nurses nowadays and statutory stipulations on their work contents. The empiric part used quantitative investigations with the data obtained through an Internet questionnaire. The respondents were the general nurses from the Czech Republic. The results reached clearly indicate that general nurses have sufficient knowledge in the field of rehabilitation nursing and they sufficiently co-operate with other members of the multi- disciplinary team. The knowledge obtained will be published in social networks and there will also be created a plan for better orientation in positioning of patients. Patient education nurse anesthetist

Bachelor thesis is focused on assessing the quality of patient education nurse anesthetist. Patient education is considered from the perspective of nurse anesthesia. The theoretical part of this work is devoted to general anesthesia characteristics, definitions and history of anesthesia. The following section deals with different types of anesthesia, complications of anesthesia and drugs used in anesthesia. Furthermore, the work focuses on the characteristics of the patient before, during and after anesthesia, and the specifics of the individual parts of anesthesia from the viewpoint of anesthesia nurses. The last chapter includes the very concept of education and the importance of good communication with the patient throughout the preparation of the patient for anesthesia. The basis of this work is a quantitative research ideas anesthesia nurses by anonymous questionnaires. Here the sisters reflect the stated objectives of work. The need of sleep of the patients in the Intensive Care

Diploma thesis deals with the problems of sleep of the patients in intensive care. Sleep is the very basic of human needs and its correct pattern is crucial for any activity of an organism. A person who is sick has an increased need for sleep and are among the most frustrated needs. The theoretical part defines sleep as a basic human need to deal with physiology and sleep disorders. I include a chapter dealing with intensive care and aspects of the environment that affect sleep of the patients. The main objective is to determine whether the need for sleep of the patients is saturated or not. I also set milestones as to gain information regarding patients sleeping pattern at home.To find out, what influence nurses in approaching sleep as a matter and to look for factors that have an influence of some sort from the nurses point of view regarding the sleeping pattern same as from the patients view of the matter. In the empirical part, I reached the set goals through interviews and questionnaires. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the distribution of medication in the social welfare health institution. The objectives of the thesis were to focus on procedures of distributing medication by nurses and to introduce the most frequent complications when distributing the medication in the social care institute. The thesis is composed of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes social and health care services, a health and social care system, a general pharmacology, medicaments' distribution and the complications during the distribution, and the competency of nurses. The views of lay public on alternative medicine

Bachelor thesis deals with alternative medicine, their positive and negative ones. The thesis has two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is based on the description of selected alternative treatments - acupressure, acupuncture, phytotherapy, biotherapy, psychotronics, homeopathy, chiropractic, aromatherapy, chiropractic and phototherapy. In recent years, we have heard more about alternative medicine and it is becoming more and more popular. Alternative medicine represents a significant part of human health care, but it does not have any rules or controls. Medical societies are not confronted with the problem unambiguously. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the opinions of the lay public on alternative medicine. Partial goal # 1 is to map out whether individual types of alternative medicine are in the public eye. Another objective, ie goal 2, is to map out whether alternative medicine is being used, or what methods and the difficulties (determining the treatment phase). Intermittent bladder catheterization in paraplegics

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the topic "Intermittent bladder catheterisation in paraplegics". I divided it into a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis concerns the spine physiology, medical consequences and complications of spinal cord lesions, nursing care of paraplegics and quadriplegics, and urology care of patients suffering from spinal cord injuries. Another large topic of the thesis is nursing care, focusing on nursing care of patients using the technique of intermittent catheterisation, the applicable legislation and accredited courses for non-medical staff. The Bachelor's thesis has one main objective and five partial ones. The main objective of the thesis is to ascertain the quality of life of paraplegics with intermittent bladder catheterisation. The partial objectives look into the specific needs of paraplegics with intermittent bladder catheterisation in five areas.
