Possibilities of application of modern methods in the production of prototype castings
Ulm, Daniel ; Horáček, Milan (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with technology of Rapid prototyping and its application at foundry industry. It is split into two parts. There are basic priciples of selected methods of Rapid prototyping technology discussed in the first part. Second part is focused on direct and indirect production of foundry molds, including application methods of Rapid prototyping.
Optimization of die casting technology of a thin-walled casting
Míšek, Jakub ; Přecechtěl, Petr (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to suggest changes of technological process, which will reduce amount of casting defects in cast made by high pressure method. The cast is casting by Alfred Engelmann CZ, spol. s.r.o. from aluminum alloy EN AB - AlSi12 (Fe). Current technology was analyzed and also was made detailed description of the high-pressure casting technology, including a description of materials and machines. To determine the causes of defects and their effects were done casting experimental test series. The results of this experiment showed that the set of casting parameter has a significant influence on the quality of the casting. It was also shown that the preparation of the melt affects the porosity of the casting. At the end was suggested changes of technological process.
Thermoproperties of foundry moulds in dependence on different used foundry sands
Šuráň, Jiří ; Rusín, Karel (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The project elaborated in frame of engineering studies is submitting the study of thermal properties of holding mixtures using different types of sand. Were tested a total of 5 sands: zirkon, ŠH22, chromite, olivine and dunite. Molding compounds were tested for thermal capacity, thermal conductivity and heat accumulation. The highest heat capacity was achieved in dunite sand. The largest heat accumulation had mixture with chromite sand and the best thermal conductivity was found in a mixture with olivine sand.
Manufacture of centrifugal Castings from iron and non-iron alloys
Žanda, Miroslav ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The thesis describes and characterizes the foundry method of centrifugal casting, which was established in the 16th century. Based on a literature study of centrifugal casting and centrifugal force, the principle of centrifugal casting is described. Centrifugal casting can be divided according to the position of the axis of rotation to horizontal and vertical or by the method of right centrifugal casting, semi-centrifugal casting, centrifugal casting, or Tekcast method. The most basic and most common centrifugal casting product is a pipe. The pipe production is progressing from material melting, pre-operation machine preparation, casting and solidification of the melt, to adjusting and finishing of the pipe. We can cast centrifugally a several of materials, especially steel, cast iron, copper, zinc, aluminum and titanium. Centrifugal casting can also cast multilayer castings.
Manufacture of centrifugal castings from iron and non-ferrous alloys
Virgl, Vítězslav ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The goal is to give a comprehensive explanation of centrifugal casting technology. It describes the process and its parameters, the forces acting on the molten metal, the basic principles and methods. There are also mentioned the types of forms used. Emphasis is placed on the cast materials. Furthermore, there are covered all benefits and drawbacks of centrifugal method and shown some larger Czech foundries with their current production capabilities.
Modern anorganic foundry binder systems
Lorenc, Michal ; Rusín, Karel (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
Today, the problem caused by various kinds of activities is a great impact on the environment. This also applies for the foundry industry, which has a relatively large share of this pollution. For this reason, constantly evolving new binders, which do not have such an impact on the environment. The aim of this work is to become familiar with these types of binders that are more friendly to our already devastated the planet.
Water-soluble foundry binders with heat hardening
Černohous, Jiří ; Rusín, Karel (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
Water-soluble foundry binders with heat hardening have recently come into use in foundries for making molds and cores. These are ecological binders, which are environmentally friendly.
Influencing of residual strength of foundry cores bonded with biogenic binder
Šebesta, Pavel ; Neudert, Alois (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
Foundry technology is an industrial sector, where progress is still the important aspect for reducing the environmental impact and increasing competitiveness. Master's thesis is focused on the possibilities of influencing residual strength of the core moulding mixtures with the biogenic binders, which forms a new group of binder systems.
Choice of material with a view to reducing the weight of cars
Najvar, Petr ; Cupák, Petr (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of choice of a material to reduce the passenger vehicle weight. The thesis should have be a source of helpful information while selecting materials for automobile parts. Therefor positive consequences, which the lower weight of a vehicle brings, are analyzed first and critical part groups are identified. The thesis also introduces an integrated list of modern materials used in automotive industry and basic criteria of their choice.
Cement mixtures and their utilization in castings production to improve working environment
Svobodová, Radka ; Cupák, Petr (referee) ; Burianová, Klára (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the production of cement, its subdivision and use in industy, its chemical, physical and technological properties. Here it is writen about its virtues and qualities, but also about drawbacks and deficiencies. For the cement mixtures is important their porosity and total recovery in cement mixtures. As a result of the environmental protection, it is written about recovery and recycling of cement and its subsequent use as well. This thesis also involves laboratory measurement of mechanical properties.
