Geomarketing methods
Voráč, Michal ; Chrobok, Viktor (advisor) ; Černý, Michal (referee)
Aim of this application-oriented master's thesis is to prove a benefits from using data analysis techniques connected with geodata processing to support business decisions. As a conclusion two solutions are given which are more attractive then starting situation. Since the first solution proposed is oriented on giving maximum success ratio while considering transactions, the second one is oriented on business value of each transaction. In this thesis R programming language is widely used together with ArcGIS Online in its final part.
Menu optimization for school cafeteria
Vlačihová, Martina ; Princ, Peter (advisor) ; Chrobok, Viktor (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of mathematical programming in real data application. Specifically, it is nutritional problem that is defined in the environment of school cafeteria. The main topic is a compilation of the school menus. There are four menus that consist of twenty meals. There are many limitations which have to be observed. These limitations are based on the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The model is described with the linear programming and is solved by the program LINGO.
Comparison of theoretical and practical solutions of bargaining games
Štanc, Daniel ; Chrobok, Viktor (advisor) ; Princ, Peter (referee)
Game theory has began to develop in the early 20th century and since that has been published a number of articles and experiments, theoretically and practically. This work deals with the particular part of the game theory - bargaining games. It seeks to describe and summarize the existing theoretical and practical knowledge on the basis of earlier experiments and explain differences between experiments. It was detected an addiction of decision that participants make and social environment in which they live. It was also found out the two main directions of participants behavior -- fair, in which participants tried to bargain fair distribution, and unfair, which led to the effort to maximize their own utility or minimize utility of someone else.
Econometric Analysis of the Main Determinants of Austrian Foreign Trade
Davidová, Lucie ; Sedláček, Jiří (advisor) ; Chrobok, Viktor (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the main determinants of Austrian imports by estimating the import function. The analysis of the data from 1995--2011 implies great openness of the economy, strong orientation at machinery industry, Germany (40 %) and other EU-countries (other 35 %). I have employed a linear log-log model estimated by OLS. Consequently, I have obtained a triple of estimated import functions -- a general one, one for year 2011 in particular, and the last one for the top ten Austrian importers. There is a significant positive impact of partner's GDP (0.81--1.42), common language (1.1--2.3) and contiguity (0.4--2.7). On contrary, we observe an inverse relationship of imports with distance (0.9--1.1) and trade barriers (0.3--0.8). Considering similarities between Austrian and Czech economies, we can deduct similar implications for economic and trade policies.
VAR Analýza Exchange Rate Pass-Through v České Republice
Borodin, Dmitry ; Chrobok, Viktor (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jan (referee)
The paper will empirically investigate the strength and the speed of the exchange rate pass-through effect in the Czech Republic, i.e. the change in the domestic prices, originally caused by the volatility of the exchange rate. VAR modelling framework has been chosen as a main instrument of analysis. Vector autoregression will also be the subject of the theoretical part of the paper, which aims to provide a clear and at the same time many-sided discussion on the relevant topics. Practical part will be completely devoted to the modelling of the exchange rate pass-through.
Methods for ranking efficient units in data envelopment analysis
Gőtz, Ondřej ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Chrobok, Viktor (referee)
This thesis focuses on the theory of models, data envelopment analysis and subsequent methods in ranking of obtained efficient units. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part describes the basic theoretical background of data envelopment analysis for different situations of inputs and outputs. It also contains basic information on specific models of CCR, BCC and SBM, including illustrative examples of their function. In the second part these models are adapted for use in the overall layout of production units which are the models of super efficiency and cross efficiency. Both methods include the description of the basic principles of their functioning. The aim is to compare the results of the various types of ranking using a practical example. This is included in the last part of the thesis. This chapter compares the results obtained using the models mentioned above. Data of the S & L branches were used as the input values for this work.
