Camshaft design for Miller cycle engine
Dúlovcová, Gabriela ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is the analysis of influence of inlet valve opening length and compression ratio on performance and thermodynamic parameters of Miller cycle using GT-SUITE software. Next step was an optimization of inlet and exhaust valve timing with goal of increasing motor effective power. For chosen option was designed cam shaft with regard of kinematic and dynamic magnitude courses.
Lumber mill
Beran, Miroslav ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Barnat, Jan (advisor)
The aim of The Bachelor’s thesis is design and assessment of steel structure lumber mill. The building has rectangular shape with dimensions of 24 x 9 m, highest point is 5 m. The main supporting structure consist of three-hinged truss girder in axial distance of 4 m. The individual frames are connected by purlins and girts and spatial rigidity of the structure provides system of longitudinal and sway bracings. The entire building is assessed as a closed hall, a hall with open barndoor on one gable wall and as roof with only longitudinal wall for continuous working.
Computational model of an CR diesel combustion engine
Kučera, Vlastimil ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
Combustion-engine control is one of the most important parts of engine application and has a direct impact on its characteristics. Diploma thesis shows the preparation of a test engine and its installation to test cell. It describes measurement and data post processing necessary for common-rail diesel engine control and their application in the creation of a mathematic model in GT-SUITE.
Intake and exhaust manifold for the truck engine
Koksa, David ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The master’s thesis is focused on creating a thermodynamic model of the diesel engine for heavy commercial vehicle. After the model was created, new intake and exhaust pipes are designed based on simulations. Those proposed pipes variants are compared with the series design. After evaluating individual variants, the final version of the new pipes is selected and 3D model for this version is created.
Con Rod design and optimization of racing engine
Ulman, Jaroslav ; Zháňal, Lubor (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis describes the design and optimization of connecting rod motor racing car. At the beginning of the whole work is a 3D-model of rods, from which then the whole work is based. Then it analyzes the current model of stress and on the basis of the results are made structural changes to the solution of rods. Newly adapted connecting rod is again analyzed using FEM and newly obtained results are compared with results of the original model of connecting rods. The conclusion deals with sensitivity analysis of selected parameters of rods and their potential effect on the resulting changes in strength connecting rod .Then is an assessment of all results.
Design of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Exchanger
Bazala, Jiří ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This diploma dissertation focuses on the constructional solutions of EGR exchangers in the form of a CAD model, on their CFD simulation, on the drawing of relevant conclusions, and also on the comparison of two developmental types of these exchangers.
Variable geometry of intake and exhaust ports of Wankel engine
Krejčí, Tomáš ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to design the key parameters of the high-powered Walkel engine and to design a chamber side on the base of computed parameters so that it enables variable change of the intake and exhaust port geometry. Consequently, to carry out a flow simulation in both ports in designed chamber side in order to find out its flow character and geometry change reaction.
The potential of biofuels for modern internal combustion engines
Matyáš, Milan ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the potential use of biofuels for modern piston internal combustion engines. The thesis deals with both reducing the environmental impact and a possible increase in performance parameters and engine efficiency such as the use of fuel with increased anti-knock resistance in spark ignition engines.
Thermodynamic model of Wankel engine with output power 11 kW
Drbal, Milan ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the Wankel rotary engines and their 1D simulations using a thermodynamic simulation software for the piston engines. The necessary steps for creation of the equivalent model of the four-stroke three-cylinder combustion engine are provided. The engine used for the validation model was Aixro XR 50. The data measured on this engine during testing were used to validate the created thermodynamic model. The discharge coefficient calculation of the intake and the exhaust ports is shown. The 11kW engine design is created using validated thermodynamic model.
Stage IV Emission Standards for Tractor Engines
Vít, Jakub ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to explain the mechanism of injection of carbamide and its installation on a vehicle. The first part of this work deals with the reduction of pollutants in the exhaust gases and with the emissions standards which limit the level of pollutants in the exhaust gases. The second part consists of an overview of tractor brands available at Czech market and their classification based on the type of system they use on their new models to reduce the pollutants in the exhaust gases.
